All of our clothes are from Zara — but they are not in stock anymore! Above are some similar pieces!

I lovvvve a good tree swing and there are dozens lining the highway on the North Shore! One day I want to take the kids and just do a tree swing crawl and do them all since they are so fun. I actually found this one when I was looking for a particular one and came across this girl’s blog… She dropped a pin at the swing and shares the address! Since we found it via her blog you can go to hers if you want to find these fun swings. The kids had soo much fun swinging around for hours and they fit in that tire swing just perfectly. It was a good time. I love the people who take the time to make all of these swings or the person who put a trampoline in the ocean, or a hammock on the beach for anyone to use! Thank you cool people.

This post made me remember this post from the tree swing in Jamaica! Anyone remember that post? It was fun to look back on 🙂 my lil bubs is so tiny! That trip is when I got pregnant with Rosie too 😉 (TMI but I don’t care because I love hearing TMI!)

Also, a few other random things…

  1. We felt very Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in our matching denim 😉
  2. I wish I said the word “groovy” more. So I may just have to start.
  3. Outdoor showers are the best.
  4. We have been watching Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (so hilarious – we love Jerry) and he has made me so interested in vintage cars. I am dying to rent one and cruise around Hawaii. Anyone know of a good place to rent one?
  5. My sisters and I started BBG – I started it a while ago and only did part of it. We are going to do the whole 12 weeks!
  6. We are taking a trip to the Big Island soon and may book a night scuba dive with manta rays eek!
  7. I feel like an adrenaline junky ever since we went scuba diving! I know it doesn’t take a lot to get my adrenaline going lol but ya know. But the one thing I have done before and will never do again is cliff jump.
  8. I am barefoot almost every day which actually makes me live up to my blog name 😉
  9. Would love to learn how to long board and surf. I am sooo uncoordinated so if you see me on the North Shore in knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, or just a whole body pad — come say hi.
  10. We are taking the kiddos whale watching Thursday! I am so excited. We can see them jumping from the shore line but its a bit too far for the kids to see so I am excited for them to see the whales from the boat!
  11. Just ordered this book.
  12. I got way too used to Amazon Prime in NYC and had a rude awakening. So, my books estimated arrival is in two weeks 😐

HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE!!!! And if you’re having a bad day do what my husband does… “in one, two, three, we are happy. 1, 2, 3.” bam. Doesn’t always work but worth a try 😉

  1. Amber,
We are in Oahu right now and want to visit this swing but the link you connected does not work. Please tell us where we can find this swing

  2. You’ll have to update on the BBG progress! I started the program three weeks ago and am still in the “pre-training” which is destroying me, so I am a little timid about what is to come when the “real training” starts. Eeeek!

  3. Just finished that book yesterday. Loved. It. Really gets you thinking! Enjoy! (Once it finally arrives) 🙂

  4. Night diving with mantas is AMAZING! Not sure the kids would be able to do it but it’s one of our favorite things here 🙂

  5. LOVE the tire swing! How fun!!!! Have you ever thought of purchasing an ENO? You can set it up anywhere and your kids would absolutely adore being able to hammock anywhere- if you don’t already own one! You can surely learn to longboard. I was sooooo horrible at it when I first started, but the more you get on the board and practice, the better you become! I promise, it gets so much easier and way less intimidating to step onto the board.

  6. I love love love TMI too! And you’ve currently got me scheming on how I too can spend some extended time in Hawaii to escape winter 😉

  7. awesome! we live on a military base in japan, so i know all about the horrors of 2 week amazon orders! I don’t even know what it will be like to get mail in 2 days again!!!!

  8. So fun! I have been to North Shore but we didn’t see any tree swings. I definitely need to go back and check out these swings <3

  9. Love your post! It makes me relaxed just looking at them! Also, congrats on BBG! I’ve been doing it for over a year now and absolutely love it! It’s so easy for me to keep in my schedule and I keep getting stronger and stronger!

  10. I live in Australia, in Queensland. And when I saw you were here I was so excited! However you stayed in Sydney.

I loved all your posts about my home.

You’re honestly such an inspiration. I love how you’ve brought up your family and the relationship you have with your husband. I get envious when I see you come home and people from different companies have just ‘sent’ you things. You must save so much money!

Keep doing what your doing. Your kindness and happiness doesn’t go un- noticed.

  11. There’s a swing on the north shore near Pupukea and underneath it, it’s painted with a riddle that leads to another swing. My husband and I went around the island following the riddles and all the swings until one lead us to a nude beach and no swing hahaha. Good times! Love your blog!

  12. Hello Amber,
my name is Nela and I am from Czech republic. I found your blog about a year ago and been following you since. I just want to say that I love your little family and love to watch you and David doing the best job (in my humble opinion) parrenting Aticus and Rosie. Me and my husband are married only for about year and half and still only 22 years old so not planning on having kids any time soon but you and your blog makes me so excited for everything that family life brings.
You are an inspiration to me in many ways and one of them is how brave you are in sharing even your personal thoughts and even fights with boldness. Another thing is all the love you are spreading all around. So being inspired by you I just wanted to encourage you in what you are doing and spread a little bit of love for it is so important.

    God bless you.
    With love, Nela.

  13. The first picture of the kiddos is probably my favorite picture of them BY FAR! It’s just so stinkin cute!!

  14. I love everything about this. I am living vicariously through your photos! I lived in Laie in 07 and have missed it every day since then. Hawaii totally gets in your blood. I’m so glad you guys are having the best time!! I hope things are going good with your house, too! Thank you for always sharing with us!! It’s so fun to read your adventures.

  15. All of you look so cute in your denim! I hope I make it here someday and can swing on those swings! Keep having a blast!

  16. I started BBG on the same day as you and your sisters! I’ll be posting about my experience over at, would love if you had a chance to check it out (I’m just starting in this whole blogging world). Your blog inspires me everyday!

  17. Lol you crack me up!! 1,2,3 and we’re happy! I absolutely love your family. There is so much love and light in these photos and y’all look beautiful! P.S. I think I need to order that book based on the title alone. I’m thinking of giving BBG a try too! Also, you are totally fitspiration, way to go!

  18. I just decided to leave a note here. It’s 5 in the morning in Toronto, my daughter didn’t sleep at night, actually she was sleeping, I am not. So while she is eating her vitamins (fruits), I am checking your blog and you guys always so happy, beautiful, like you never have any problems with kids or with yourself. And I feel so tired and hopeless ?

    1. I am so sorry you are having a rough morning 🙁 I too have those trust me. Would you mind sending me your address? I would love to send you something to cheer you up! You can send your address to ! Every mom out there has tired and hopeless days or days filled with mom guilt so you’re not alone. Sending my love to you!

  19. OOOO I have done the manta dive 3 times now through a dove shop called Jacks Dive Locker. It’s also where I got certified. Kawika is the BEST and his pops owns the shop, FANTASTIC HUMANS! Good luck out there with your beautiful family and kick a$$ braids!

  20. Hey Amber love your blog!! Just wanted to say I went to the Big Island this summer, and did the night scuba dive with the manta rays. It was one of my favorite things I’ve ever done. Such an incredible experience and it was AMAZING!!!

  21. I just listened to that book on audio! It’s so good! Check out also “The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F$ck” by Sarah Knight. It’s hilarious and good too! Loving your Hawaii life!

  22. I live across the street from that tire swing! Love your blog and I hope to run into your family here.

  23. Hi Amber is love to see an update regarding BBG. Kaylas from my home town and is huge in Australia. I’m currently on round 2 week 2. I have had two babies and it’s super hard but I’m seeing results. Goodluck xxxx

  24. Amber, Check out Turo – they rent out people’s private cars, including vintage or fun sports cars for as many days as you are interested in or you could use one for a photo shoot. We used them to rent a Porsche Cayenne to go to the North Shore a few years ago and it was so fun and much less hassle than a rental agency. Also, they bring the car to you, which makes it so convenient. Love seeing your pics.

  25. I love hearing about all the random things you’re loving. Especially new books.
    Amazing photos as usual!

  26. Hi! I loved looking back on your photos from Jamaica (also all these Hawaii photos are making me so excited for my own Hawaiian family vacation coming up soon!!) – but correct me if I am wrong but I thought that in your Jamaica post from back in the day there used to be some beautiful photos of you breastfeeding Atticus? Maybe it was a different post but I know I saw them at some point (I’m a long time follower!) – and I just want to say they were definitely inspiration and confirmation for me when I started to breastfeed my own baby – I was like “Yeah, look at this other gorgeous woman doing it proudly in public!” Anyway – whenever it was from I just wanted to say thank-you! And if you had to remove them I’m sure you had your reasons 🙂 just wanted to let you know you and your family are wonderfully inspiring!

  27. So pretty as always!
Have you been wearing the Bare Minerals powder foundation in all ur Hawaii pictures?
Your skin looks so flawless and glowy, I’ve been wanting to try that foundation, I’m jealous!!

    xoxo steph

  28. hahaha TMI!!!! Don’t worry Amber…. I LOVE hearing TMI and sharing too:))))) Rosie and Atticus are getting SOOOOO BIGG!!!! What island are you living on? I went to the big island and stayed at the Four Seasons and it is super kid-friendly if you were interested in checking out other islands before you leave!!! Looks so fun!!!!!

  29. Looks so fun! When will you have your pup back? How do you control Chauncey’s shedding? My husband and I want to get a golden but don’t know if we can handle the constant shedding. Any thoughts?

  30. I love this post! It made me smile and laugh. Love hearing your thoughts, including David’s advice for getting out of a bad mood 🙂

  31. Amber, you are so funny and so cute!! I am cracking up over here!! (In a good way 😉 These photos are so adorable and I loved reading your 12 things!! Every time I see a photo of you or your fan bam on Pinterest, I feel like I know you and we are friends. Have a great week!! 🙂

  32. What beautiful family photos! And your 12 things was so fun to read–I love random lists.

My husband and I have been trying to go on as many trips as possible before we have kids. I had this idea that after babies we won’t be able to do any major trips until our kids are older. After discovering your blog, you have completely assuaged my fears. Thank you, Amber! I feel so inspired by your travels together as a family. I know it’ll be different, more expensive, and with its own set of new challenges. But now I say, bring on the family memories!

May I ask where your white bathing suit top with the shoulder ties is from? (Your Instagram post on 1-14-17 by the fruit stand truck). It looked so cute!!

  33. I am enjoying all your pics from Hawaii so much! You are making miss summer so bad. haha. I love island life. 🙂 I definitely want to order that book too. So many people love it and have read it. Excited to jump on the bang wagon. 🙂

  34. Love this!! All your Hawaii posts are so dreamy. I’m so glad you guys are having such a wonderful time!!

Just wanted to stop by and say that you always motivate me to aim higher and go after my dreams! I get kind of annoyed when people say things like ” I’m so jealous of your life.. etc.” When I see someone living a good life 1. I’m happy for them. 2. it’s just all the more motivation to work hard and follow my dreams! Thanks for always motivating and inspiring me! Love you!!!! <3 🙂 – Magdalena

  35. Aw these pictures are so beautiful!!!!! Your children seem so happy!!!!!

  36. You have to do the night dive with the mantas!!!!! It is one of the coolest things I have ever done! I just got married on the big island this summer it is beautiful!

  37. Oh my gosh I didn’t even think about the fact you can’t get Amazon Prime in Hawaii, you poor thing lol I am addicted to prime haha! Love all these photos, I’m sure your kiddos were loving the swings! Definitely adding this to my list of thing to do in Hawaii 🙂

    Lauren Emily Lindmark

  38. Why not get the kindle version? Have it instantly and without killing trees and such.

  39. OH I cannot wait to hear about your experience with BBG! I love checking Kayla’s instagram for inspiration and to see the positive progress results but I’ve been tentative to get started. I have a workout plan that I love but feel like my results could be better with a different program. Hope to hear you give us your thoughts!

  40. I was so bummed when I heard y’all were leaving NYC but my gosh I just love all your beach pics and posts! It makes me miss summer so much! I love your 12 things posts, they’re so fun to read and just learn random little facts about you. Maybe you could do a 12 things TMI post? 😉 I think everyone secretly loves TMI. 🙂 And as always, Rosie and Atticus are the most adorable little humans ever.
    -Xoxo. J

  41. The pic in the swing with Atticus’s foot hanging out ? That one should be framed!! So precious

  42. Definitely laughed out loud (fo’ real) at this post! So many gems! I could never do a night scuba dive though! The closest thing I got to it was rowing in the San Diego bay when it was pitch black. The only light was from the blue light-up algae when my oar struck the water, which looked like little water lights surrounding the boat!

    xo, Sofia

  43. If you’re on Oahu, my favorite hikes are the Pill Boxes, Koko Head (so hard, but worth the view), and Makapu Lighthouse!! Enjoy it out there!

  44. Your endless summer makes me so so happy! I am so tempted to consider moving somewhere warm 24/7. 1. Outdoor showers are the best!! And, 2. I want to try BBG. My best friend loves it, so let me know if you do too! I’m really thinking about getting into it. Have a good day xx

  45. Have so much fun! We were in Hawaii for my friends wedding on the North Shore last Feb when I was pregnant and it was the best . It’s also crazy how big the waves are and how great the surfers are – I am sure I’m just if not more uncoordinated than you…I can relate!!!

  46. Amber the tire swings look like so much fun! I’m so jealous right now because in the Midwest the highest tempurature has been 45 degrees! ? I miss summer so much!

You are going to love BBG! I always feel like I’m dying while actually doing the workouts, but they pay off in the end, and I always feel so proud of myself afterwards! I’ve been doing the program for nearly a year now, and absolutely love it!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Hawaii!
    – Megan.

  47. Hi Amber! I love your blog and reading about all your adventures! I want to start a blog someday in the future, would you mind telling me how you started yours and some tips? Thanks!

  48. “Her’s” is incorrect. It is “hers” and always should be done that way. Also, I know this next thing is just nitpicky but it’s Britney not Brittany. 😉

  49. Amber, Hawaii its truly a beautiful place I am so happy to see you all enjoying your time there. Kids seem like they are part of the ocean life, enjoying being barefoot like their mama.

Random question do you sell your kids clothes? or just give it away would love to know some cute things they have.

  50. OMG…

I just can’t deal with the cuteness of these pics.
It is just too much for my heart…
I love swings (I’m the one swinging everywhere at random swings!)
My dream house has a tree with a swing. And Ill be swinging all day long with my kids and my husband. Hopefully I’ll have great fam pics like you have, Amber!

    have a good day.

  51. Haha! That last extra one made me smile. 1,2,3 bam! Let’s see what my husband thinks of that one 🙂 Also, BBG… ugh. I started doing it and then stopped, because it’s such a pain doing it at home. Now that I’ve joined a gym I might as well try again! You are rocking those bikinis and bathing suits, btw! x
