Anytime I go to Positano I end up leaving trying to figure out a way to move there. It is just soooo dreamy. We hung by the pool, sat under umbrellas and ate endless watermelon, played in the sand, watched sunsets, drank fresh lemonade, and walked all of the tiny streets. The first night we were there we were a loud bang, looked outside our window and they were having fireworks right outside our window! It was a full on firework show and so romantic. It woke Rosie right up – it was SO loud and I am still shocked Atticus didn’t wake up.

The second day we were there we went to meet up with friends at a beach next door and the waves were SO big. They kept getting bigger and bigger and slowly all of the umbrellas and chairs were getting put away so they didn’t wash away. I had Rosie in the pack n play and the kids were everywhere playing together and all the sudden we see a massive wave that was clearly going to flood all of our bags, chairs, camera stuff, AND ROSIE! I ran as fast I could to grab her and all of the older kids did too and we grabbed her pack n play just as the wave was about to cover her! It was so scary but all the kiddos and my friend Esther saved the day. I was so impressed that the 6-11 year olds were so sweet to think to run and grab the baby. Especially since we had just met them the day before. Atticus had such a blast on the beach with new buddies who were so sweet to him! He thinks the big kids are just the coolest 🙂

Also as a side note, it was kind of random because as I put this outfit on I saw a reader posted an old photo on their insta of us in Positano a few years ago and I was wearing thee EXACT same outfit! Haha! I didn’t even plan or realize until I saw that photo. Thought it was so funny.

Next time we see you, Positano, we are staying a LOT longer. xo

  1. Hi Amber! I love keeping up with your beautiful family and all your travels. I absolutely love your photos, I know your husband shoots most of your content and pictures – what camera does he use? I’m on the hunt for one myself that is smaller and easier to travel with and still produces amazing images. Thank you!

  2. I’m Italian, so reading this article it made me feel like I was there (even if I’m from the north)…I loved it!! 🙂 and I love all your blog, especially the Hair section, it inspires me a lot 🙂

  3. Amber, where is that pack & play from? I am registering for my first baby and want one that is easy to travel with but great for at home as well. Thanks! xx

  4. Where did you stay? Do you have any tips for traveling with babies? My husband and I want to take our 1 year old their in September for our 4 year anniversary!

  5. These pictures are incredible! My husband and I will be there in September and seeing these pictures makes me really excited! ! So I can’t help bit notice that David’s hair seems to be getting a lot thicker and fuller. Is it because he is just wearing it longer now or is he using some special product? If it is some product, I would love to see a blog post about it. Thanks so much!

  6. I love: all of Rosie’s rolls, that first photo from the post, the photo of you and D kissing R, the snaps of Atticus being (manhandled) carried by Italian girls… my faves…

  7. This place looks dreamy! I think it’s amazing how you aren’t afraid to take your little kiddos all over the world, so many people don’t. Was this something you decided you wanted to do even with little kids before having Atticus? Sorry for the personal question!

  9. What fun! I am in love with all the pictures you have of David holding your babies by their feet – I’ve never seen that before, and they always look so crazy happy to be standing in Dad’s hand! Rosie has the cutest rosy cheeks <3 and I love how she looks at Atticus!! The giant waves sound a little terrifying – good thing you were surrounded by so many looking out for you! xoxo

  10. These pictures are so precious! The family selfie (I believe 5th last picture) is sooooo relatable, with the watermelon dripping down your shoulder haha
    This holiday really looks divine.

Oh question; where’s Rosie’s suit from, when she’s lying in the pack n play? thanks!

  16. Hey Amber, I can’t help but notice that all of your photos are so nicely edited. Do you have any suggestions for apps to use when it comes to editing?

  17. Hi Amber! I just love all of your travel posts and Instas. Do you have any tips for traveling somewhat lightly in Europe with little ones? We are contemplating a trip to Italy next year when our babes will be six and two. The thought of hauling tons of luggage, a pack n play, and a stroller through train stations or into a tiny car is daunting, but I would hate to get there and only focus on a single place which we have done in the past. Thanks so much!

  18. That picture of you and david kissing Rosie is one of my favorite pictures of all time!! It’s hilarious!! And I will definitely be visiting Positano after this post! Xo

  19. Fun! That looks like SUCH a dreamy getaway! And so scary about miss Rosie. I love that everyone ran to the rescue! What a good idea to bring the pack and play to the beach! Aw, your family looks so beautiful and happy! I hope everything is AMAZING!! And I can’t wait to see where you lay your roots and the house you guys build!! So exciting!

  29. I was in Positano just a few days after you! Amazing city but I’m 6-months pregnant and all that walking about did me in! We stayed in a villa at the top of the cliff so I lugged my 20-lb beach ball all over that place 🙂 wish I could have met you, how cool that would have been!

  30. Loved it Amber! Where are you slide sandals from? I’ve been looking for a pair like that and those ones are super cute!

  35. So dreamy, so beautiful! I love Rosie’s face when atticus was laying on your back in the family photo, she’s like, dude, what are you doing….hehehehehe, so stinkin cute. Can you tell us what hotel you stayed in, will you do a travel guide of your trip? xoxo Tiff
