Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeIts funny that on this blog I am usually wearing make up and out and about but in reality probably most of my time is spent at home with no make up and either jeans and a tee or leggings and a tee! So I figured I would go bare in todays post and introduce Nude ProGenius Omega Treatment Milk. On the side of their box is written one of their slogans, “Beautiful Without.” Which is a great reminder to us with flaws and imperfections (okay all of us), that we are always beautiful “without.” As I was thinking about taking this selfie David came up and said (and he LITERALLY said this word for word), “Remember God created you beautiful WITHOUT makeup.” Sometimes it’s easy to want to hide behind makeup especially now that I have my freaking dark spots from pregnancy!! I don’t know why but I get so self conscious of them and luckily I have David who always makes me feel like the prettiest girl but the times it’s the easiest to remember that we are all “beautiful without” is when we are being healthy and taking care of our skin. With Nude’s new treatment milk, you are literally feeding your skin with a concentrated superfood. It’s packed with 10 all natural plant oils and all the healthy omegas. It’s the perfect light, instant hydrating serum. It definitely makes me feel great without. I’m hoping you can all remember this slogan today on #nomakeupmonday, and in just a small way inspire all your friends and family. Have a great day!

  2. Girl! You’re too beautiful, with or without makeup 🙂 Hey I’m finishing my basement and and dying to find a paint color and love the one in this room of your gorgeous home! Could you please, please, pretty please tell me what color it is?? Thank you oh so much!

  3. How do you manage to still be amazingly stunning without makeup!?

  4. Hey, beautiful. What do you use for your pregnancy spots? My last pregnancy makes me look like I have a goatee! lol. seriously, tho. love your blog and videos btw. 😉

    1. I also wanted to mention to DON’T listen to the haters girl. keep doing what you’re doing, Amber you are a beautiful person and as a young mother of 3, you help me remember the importance of taking care of myself and feeling good about myself, and remember its fun to be a girl! Ha!

Also, something totally off the subject but have you ever used Mary Kay product?

      thx again!
      Dani

  5. You definitely look beautiful without makeup! I am the complete opposite lol I never wear makeup, probably because I have no idea what I’m doing. I should have a makeup Monday to spice things up.

  6. You are gorgeous!! What is your daily face cleansing routine? My face breaks out all the time and I have tons of black heads. I would love for some tips on how to get rid of it or at less lessen it 🙂
    Thank you!

  7. How beautiful you are!! Love your hair and you too!! God has done an amazing job on you because you are unique and sooo gorgeous!! (I’m sorry for my english) I hope you will have a nice day!! :* <3 <3

  8. You are beautiful, makeup or no makeup, inside and out!
I recently had an eye problem and I couldn’t wear any eye makeup for about a week, and I felt so naked at first since I always wear it when I leave the house too. I was really self-conscious at first but after a day or two I pretty much forgot about it. It actually helped me to be more confident; hey, if people were complimenting me when I didn’t have anything extra on, I felt that much better about it! Ha and thanks, couldn’t decide what color to paint my nails and I saw your eye-catching orange, I’m sold.

  9. You are naturally beautiful and look great without makeup. What is your background?

  10. 1. No makeup necessary.
    2. Ahhh I read you have pink undertones! How do you combat that!! You never look it!

    1. Okay you’re the cutest most sweetest person!!! Thank you!! And you can totally see my pick undertones without makeup, so I use a good foundation and powder to get an even skin color!! I wish I didn’t though 😉 xo

I posted a video about products I use on YouTube you can check out if you want!!

  11. Hi Amber! I love this message, thanks for sharing. 🙂 I also have a video idea for you! I think your viewers would love an apartment tour if that’s something you would be interested in! I always catch myself dying at your decor in the background. You have such great taste when it comes to literally everything… HOW? Haha I am getting a new apartment soon and would love some inspiration. 🙂 xox

    1. Hi Heather!! I am glad you liked it!! That makes me happy!! And that is a great idea!! I will keep that in mind for future tutorials 🙂 Thanks SO much for the suggestion!! You’re so sweet!! Also, good luck with the apartment search!! xo

  12. You are so beautiful!! I love your posts. I am from Ukrain and study english now. It’s difficult to reading english texts for me, but I can’t stop reading your blog))) Thank you so much! And sorry if you don’t understand my english:)))

  14. Ummmm okayyyy if I looked like you without makeup I would NEVER wear it. You’re such a babe! Are there other beauty products like this that you use? Maybe something a little cheaper?

  16. ok this is honestly so beautiful! I always love when people can just embrace their natural beauty!! Great for you for doing that too, its an inspiration!

    1. Thank you love!! That is such a sweet thing to say!! I appreciate it!! xo

  17. You are so gorgeous! Thanks for reminding me that make up isn’t what matters. 🙂

    1. Definitely not perfect, but thank you so much!! You’re so sweet!!! xo

    1. Totally!!! I am so glad you can relate!! And aww thank you so much!! You’re stunning!!! 🙂 xo

  18. I won’t tell you to stop wearing makeup, because your looks are the greatest inspiration for me, but I really hope you know that you are very beautiful without! ♥

    1. Aww thank you so much!! I know what you mean!! Makeup is definitely part of my blog, but it was nice to share this no makeup look for once!! Thanks for your sweet comment!! xo

  19. I love this and loved seeing your selfie last night, stunning:) I also have to admit that I love that we also have the choice to wear make up hehe, I also love washing my make-up off when I’m home but always like to put make up on for when I’m out during the day- its one of the joys of being a girl huh:)

    1. Thanks so much!!! That is so very nice of you!! And I totally agree!! I love getting “dolled” up but it is also SO refreshing to have a no makeup day here and there 😉 Love ya!!

  20. Such a lovely post. It’s so good to give your skin a break from makeup and to remind yourself that there is no need to constantly hide what you look like without it. I’m trying to embrace that thought more and more.

    Love from South Africa

    http://arumlilea.com

    1. Thank you!! And yes, I completely agree!! I love giving my skin a break from makeup!! It is refreshing and nice to have a break 😉 Thanks for the positivity!! xo

  21. My husband often tells me he prefers my skin without makeup & on occasion I agree that no makeup can look best. Often without it one can look younger & not so harsh. However during my pregnancy my skin has been breaking out (no glow here) + I have a lovely hormonal rash on my face now

    1. I love that!! Such a sweet husband you have!! I agree, no makeup is so refreshing!! And I know what you mean about “no glow” during pregnancy 🙁 Good thing it’s so worth it!! 😉 xo

  22. Hi Amber – love that you shared these pics of you sans makeup. You are beautiful! You made a comment via Instagram about how you’d over plucked your eyebrows in high school and I just wanted to say that I think your eyebrows are AMAZING. If you haven’t already, would you mind 1) sharing what products you use on your eyebrows? (aka: brow pencil/powder, etc.) and 2) maybe a tutorial on how you do your everyday eyebrow?

I am super fair skin and blond and my eyebrows are white! So if I don’t do anything, it looks like I don’t’ have eyebrows! I spend a lot of time trying to create the perfect yet natural looking brow so my face actually has some framing/eyebrow to it – would love to know your routine.

    Kassy

  23. Good for you, girl! This speaks volumes and is such a good example/reminder for all women. You are absolutely stunning!

    1. Thank you so much!! I appreciate the positivity and kindness!! You’re the best!! xo

  24. This is such an encouraging post! I have dark spots from acne scars and they make me so self conscious. I totally relate there! However, I do need to remember that God made me exactly the way I am.

    1. Aww thank you!! I love hearing that!! And I know what you mean 🙁 I think women in general tend to be too hard on themselves, and notice things others may not! I have to remind myself of that and not over-criticize my flaws! You’re amazing!! xo

  25. I loved this! You truly are beautiful Amber. More people should know that no one NEEDS makeup, it is just a choice and something fun to play around with:) I do love wearing it but also remember to give my skin “breaks” so it breathes better at least two or three times a week and keep it fresh.

    PS: LOVING your decor! hehe

    PamelaYaquelin

    1. Thank you so much Pam!! That means the world to me!! And yes exactly!! Makeup is totally an accessory, and having days without makeup is a must!! It’s so refreshing to do without it here and there 😉 Thanks for reading love!!

  26. this is the sweetest! It’s so easy to get into the scary habit of feeling uncomfortable WITHOUT makeup, and I’m definitely a guilty party! after having (near) flawless skin with foundation, concealor, powder, highlight, etc… going completely barefaced, skin imperfections and all, seems like an incredibly daunting task! it’s always easiest for me when i know that I’ve been taking care of my body and skin with exercise and proper hydration! and btw Amber, you’re absolutely GORGEOUS!

    xoxo hails.

    1. Aww thank you!! And yes, you are so right with that!! It is so nice to just take my makeup off at the end of the day and let me skin breathe!! Thanks again for your insight and sweet comment!! Love ya! xo

  27. I love it when bloggers do posts like this, because it reminds us that they are real people as well! You look stunning dressed both down and up girl, and so much kudos to you for publishing this post 🙂

    1. Thank you so much!! I love hearing that!! That is exactly what I wanted people to take from this 🙂 Thanks again Julia!! xo

  28. Amber,

Do you take requests? 🙂 I was hoping that you could maybe do a feature on your church style. Things that you feel is appropriate to wear without having to sacrifice style and personality. I’m in love with every outfit and product that I’ve tried from your suggestions and we recently moved to a new area where church wear is no longer skinny jeans and blouses. Think about it 🙂

    Baby A is adorable 🙂

    Amy

    1. Amy!! Yes, I do!! I love that suggestion!! Thanks so much!! I will keep it in mind 🙂 And aww thank you!! So nice of you!! xo

  29. I know this post is inspired by a supporter but you look beautiful without make up! I like to play around with make up but I don’t wear it b/c I have sensitive skin and I don’t like how it feels on my face, which makes me more insecure sometimes now that I recently entered my 30’s. It’s hard seeing bloggers and celebrities looking perfect all the time so I appreciate you taking the time to go make up free!

    1. Thank you so much Jessica!! I love hearing your honesty, and it was so nice to share this side of me, because as I mentioned, most of the time I am not all “dolled” up!! Just a normal person like you 🙂 I appreciate your insight and kind words!! xo

  30. I so love this post! Like a lot! I feel you, girl, with the post-preggo self-conscious stuff (dark spots, stretch marks, etc) and other things I’m self-conscious about (blemishes, etc.). But, anyways lovedddd this!

    Super gorgeous without 😉

    xoxo,
    Sarah | QueSarahSera

    1. Thank you!! I am glad to hear you can relate to the post-pregnancy effects!! Thanks so much for your sweet comment!!! xo

  31. Gorgeous with or without makeup! A little cliche, but your inner beauty is radiating in these make up free pics!

    1. Aww thank you!!! I am so thankful for amazing followers like yourself!! Thanks for the love and support! xo

  32. I think makeup can be a lot of fun and certainly can highlight all of our natural beauty but shouldn’t be used as a mask or a way to cover who we are! You are so gorgeous naturally (and with makeup too). I think it is so important to be confident in who we are though none of us are perfect!

    1. I totally agree!! There is nothing wrong with getting all “dolled” up with makeup, but on the other hand, it is so refreshing to be natural and makeup free!! I love your positivity and insight!! Thank you so much!!! xo

  33. I love that you did this. You are truly beautiful. Now seeing your nude face i can see make up only embraces your natural beauty. Don’t listen to the rude comments! God bless you and your family.

    1. Thanks so much!! Your comment seriously made my night!!! I appreciate it!! Love ya!

    1. Thank you SO much!! You’re a sweetheart! And yes, you are so right!! Imperfections and all!! I love that thought 🙂 Thanks love!!

  34. I don’t mean to sound mean, it’s not the intent, but I feel really bad for your dog. You constantly shove it aside to travel incessantly, you moved it to a city that is hard for animals to live in, you live in a teeny tiny apartment with this poor pet and your baby and husband, the dog looks like he’s cared for but not more than a prop in your pictures. You seem like the type of person who would dump him at a shelter because you don’t have time for him. You don’t make time for him now, clearly, because he doesn’t appear very happy in the pictures and can you blame him? Also, please consider your child’s safety when posting pictures of him. There are a ton of predators and other people using pictures of babies from instagram and you are not careful about disclosing your every move, when you are out of town, etc. I know you’re dying for attention and to show your status and life, and it’s totally understandable because it can be fun, but you really need to be more careful and caring. Life is not about how many instagram likes you can get.

    1. I’m kind of disappointed at how bold & rude people are when hiding behind screens. She’s criticized because she has a thigh gap, she’s not Mormon enough, she’s too skinny, her clothes are too expensive…now you’re concerned her dog doesn’t look happy & she’ll drop him off at a shelter?!?

Amber, please don’t let the very few folks with these crazy opinions ruin the fact that you positively impact a hundred times more than that on a daily basis.

I started to write a response directly to the poster who clearly doesn’t follow you closely and recognize that Chauncey is your first-born baby, but it’s not worth the time spent.

    2. You can clearly see that this pup is cared for. I have her on snapchat and she is always snapping photos and videos of Chauncey playing and out for walks.
As for the attack on her parenting. That is uncalled for.

You don’t know her and to say she is the type of person to drop off her dog at a shelter is horrible. I may not know her either but I have followed her for years now and the love her and her family have for Chauncey is obvious.

Also, it isn’t all about likes. You have made her sound so very superficial. Her blog started as a hobby before she was married. And it turned into a career. Her blog helps her provide for her family (that includes her two children, Chauncey and Atticus).

I am not judging you. I just want to let you realize how hurtful it must have been for Amber to read your comment. She is a person and you have attacked her in more ways then one. Whether you “didn’t mean to sound mean or not”. Your comment was highly unneeded. It will change nothing that you believe to need changing. All you have done is attack Amber.

    3. I’m really disappointed that you would feel the need to try and criticize the way Amber parents both to her son and her dog. She mentions all the time about how moving to the city has been beneficial to Chauncy because they take him for walks multiple times a day. She commented before how living in a house with a backyard makes it so much easier just to open the back door and let him out but now they have to go out for long walks and they get to explore the city together as a family of four. She created an instagram account devoted to him! So how dare you mom shame her!

And to judge her on what she does for a living is just wrong. She’s not doing it for the likes and attention. Most bloggers do it for a hobby and if a blog becomes popular then they can get paid for it so it’s how she’s making her living. How would you feel if someone made those comments to you? If you actually followed her from the beginning you’d know she’s a genuine person and isn’t in this for the fame.

I sincerely hope you regret the comments you made about her and take a hard look at yourself.

Amber, I’m really sorry you had to read that. I hope it doesn’t get you down! All your real followers know how much you love your boys. All three of them!

    4. SO well said so agreed! I loose an IQ point when reading this self observed brain surgeon where all is about her her her more of her expensive clothes labels logos and poor kid’s privacy violated everywhere and exposed SO agreed.

      1. self obsessed *
The world is full of these, now everyone poses for their youtube, insta, you name it, every aspect of their lives …. HOW SAD is that – rather pathetic but sad too.

      2. YEAH and all the time heavy makeup and here you just see how she looks banal
too much makeup = you never know what is underneath, same goes for
        too heavy photoshop ….. hah

    1. Okay wow you’re way too sweet!! Thank you Lauren!! Let me know if you like it!! xo

    1. Oh my goodness!! Thank you!! That is so dang nice of you to say!! Thanks for reading!! xo

  35. You are gorgeous without makeup! Also, where is that white dresser from?

    1. Thank you so much Ann!! That is so nice of you!! And the dresser is vintage! 🙂

  36. Well, as expected you are even more pretty without make up, your hair loose, with a jeans and a t-shirt. That’s a blessing, enjoy it as long as you can!

    1. Oh stop!!! No way!! But thank you so much!!! You totally made my day!! It’s definitely nice to have a day not consisting of getting “dolled” up 🙂 Have an amazing day!! xo

    1. He really is a sweetheart!! I am so lucky!! Let me know what you think of the product!! xo

  37. I spend like 90% of the time without make up at home with my girls too! I LOVE your hair it is seriously gorgeous. I wanted to ask if you had heard about Rodan and Fields? I am a consultant for them and the regimen Reverse gets rid of sun spots/melasma/dark spots within 60 days. I would love to order some for you if you want to try it out!! Literally if you hate it you can return within 60 days even if bottles are empty, so seriously NOTHING to lose 🙂 If not I totally understand just thought I would let you know its an option 🙂 xoxo

    1. I love hearing that from other mamas!! And thank you so much!! So sweet of you!! I don’t think I have heard of it before!! I will check it out and let you know!! Thanks so much for the suggestion!! 🙂 xo

  38. LOVE this! You look amazing – and it’s so refreshing to see makeup free pics online! I know I feel the same way about pictures of myself – so THANK YOU for sharing this today! It’s exactly what I needed!

  39. Isn’t it so funny how we doll ourselves up for the camera?! In reality I don’t wear any makeup most of the time either! Such a positive message by posting these. And gorgeous as always!

    XO, k | http://www.kokay.me

    1. I know it!! It’s nice to mix it up with a few no makeup days 😉 And thanks so much Kirsten!! xo

    1. I do too!! Serums are definitely a must for me!! I haven’t tried that kind yet, I will keep it in mind!! And thanks so much!!! xo

    1. Thank you so much!! Serums are a definitely must for me!! And I love what you said!! So true!! For sure not a necessity 🙂 Another great reminder!! Thanks love!! xo

  40. Hi, I just found your blog recently and absolutely love it! Do you by any chance ever sell some of your clothing?

    1. Yay!! I am so glad you are following along now!! And no, I don’t actually. I give a lot of my clothing/accessories I’m done wearing to my sisters and mom 🙂 xo

  41. Wonderful post as usual! You are gorgeous without makeup and it’s so nice that you have such a wonderful husband 🙂

  42. Amber you look so beautiful in these pics, and honestly I don’t see a huge difference between how you look with no make up and with your make up…it’s always simple and flawless! 😛 I came here to comment because I saw all the rude comments on your instagram pic for this post! I can’t believe all the people who assume just because you have nice skin means you are wearing make up…….and I really can’t believe the people who say they are unfollowing you for it! I promise I am a more loyal reader than that 😉 barefootblonde fan for life!

    1. Thank you so much Allison!!! You are way too sweet!!! I wish there wasn’t a difference 😉 I appreciate the positivity!! Seriously! Thanks love!!! xo

  43. I think what makes you so beautiful is how REAL you are and that is why I follow your blog religiously. Warm, genuine and you support real women and you inspire all of us. Case in point today, no makeup…..and reminding all the ladies to love yourself and flaws and all…..and honestly your makeup does look so good when you do wear it bc you have amazing skin and you take care of it. LOVE this post and I echo what the other ladies said, a real man, like your David, we all love how much he loves you. #foodforthesoul This was a great post!

    1. Thank you thank you!!! Wow I appreciate that so much!! I try to be as real as possible with my blog, and I am glad that comes through for some people 🙂 You are so sweet!!! Love ya!!! xo

  44. You look great without makeup and honestly I don’t even see a dark spot… I have 4 big dark areas on my face from pregnancy and they are super noticeable. I wear makeup almost everyday because of it. It makes me very self conscious.

  47. You look gorgous! What is your nail polish color and where are your tee and jeans from? Love it all!!

    1. Thank you so much Brandy!! And I actually don’t know the nail color because I got them done at a salon!! 🙁 As far as the tee, it is a Utah Jazz shirt from Fanz, and the jeans are Rag & Bone Kensington!! xo

    1. You totally should!! Let me know what you think if you do end up trying it!! Thanks for reading! xo

  48. Oh my goodness, this warmed my heart! I love when girls go make-up free! Personally, I hardly ever wear make-up (partly because I’m lazy…). You are so right, God made every single person on this planet beautiful! Love your inspiration and heart to heart, you’re a gem. xox B.

    1. Aww thank you Bethany!!! You’re the beauty!! I can only imagine you look just as beautiful without makeup 🙂 Thanks for your kind words!!! Love ya lots!!

  49. Love this blog post! I really love when bloggers show real life moments, no makeup, etc. Not every day is glam, especially when you’re a mom! P.S. You don’t even need makeup, you’re so pretty!

    1. Thank you Kelly!! That means so much to me!! I was so scared to share this post, but it’s so nice hearing amazing comments like this! I appreciate it!!! And I wish I didn’t need makeup 😉 but thank you love!! xo

  50. Amber! I love this! And I love that your hubby is so sweet. That’s exactly what mine would say. And I really love that you did this and are always so real on your blog. That’s why I love it!

    1. Thank you so much Christine!! We are lucky to have such sweet men in our lives huh 😉 Thanks for your love and support!! I am so happy you follow along!! xo

  51. Amber you are Beautiful without your makeup, and God did make us Beautiful! We all tend to be too hard on ourselves about our looks because lets face it, its everywhere in the world everything we look at, we see magazines or what have you where women look super flawless, but lets be real here, everyone has flaws and that is what makes us so special and unique. We would all look perfect too if we had all the help models get in the magazines and such, but the truth again is, we are all flawed in some way. There is only one of you and you are special and Beautiful in your own way that makeup can not even touch, beauty is more than the face, its out heart too, and I can tell you have such a loving heart and that makes you even more Beautiful… Thank heavens for our Amazing husbands that tell us how Beautiful we are without our makeup as that means the world to us right? Thanks for being real Amber, and I hope you have a great Monday girl xo

    1. Wow thank you so much Michelle!! I agree, I can be way too hard on myself, as I am sure everyone is at times.. It’s difficult not to be!! That’s why it is so nice to be reminded that we are all “beautiful” in our own way 🙂 Thanks for the lovely comment, and sharing your input. It was so refreshing to read and it sure was a good reminder on what’s really important!! You sure know how to make a girl feel special!! I love you for that!!! Have an amazing day!! xo

  52. Definitely going to take this challenge. I have been self conscious since my pregnancy too. I had super bad acne when pregnant and just got in the habit of always wearing makeup to go out. Even though my face is back to normal, I still feel like I need makeup most of the time. Thanks for posting this! You are gorgeous

    1. I am so happy to hear that!! I hope you do! I know what you mean, pregnancy did all sorts of crazy things to my skin 🙁 You’re amazing!! Thanks for your comment!! Love ya! xo

  53. You still look like a supermodel without makeup! 🙂 I love your purple couch too!!! Love following your blog! XO

    1. Oh my gosh stop it!! You just made my day! Thank you!!! I am so glad you are following along!! xo
