I was in love with the double braid/messy do Blake Lively wore a while back, here, and have since tried to recreate it a couple times and finally figured out the way! The tutorial is below!! 🙂

This sweater has been my go to lately – I have worn it several times this week already (whoops!) it is just so soft and comfy and I love the fit of it.

I hope you all had a good weekend!! It was Chauncey’s birthday (he is a year old!) so we took him to the park a bunch and on lots of walks 🙂 Have a good Monday!

  1. This is such an awesome braid tutorial! And I LOVE the song in the background! Who sings it?

  2. You are the style and beauty queen, Amber! What a simple yet beautiful look from head to toe!

  3. Wow! I love this! The crystal hair piece is the cherry on top! Do you color your own hair? If not, may I ask who your colorist is? (Looking for a new stylist! And your hair is always amazing!) 🙂

    1. Thanks so much!! And yeah I do color my own hair most of the time!! If not I will have my sis in law throw some highlights in for me and I will color hers in exchange 🙂 xx

    1. Thanks Michelle!! And jealous you have enough hair to do it, I definitely had to have some help haha

  4. Excellent. I’m excited for the tutorial. I found that exact Blake Lively photo and tried to duplicate the messy braid for a wedding I went to last month.

    1. Yeah I loved that style on her! Tutorial should be up Monday so be sure to check for it! 🙂

    1. Thanks so much girl! Wish I could take credit for this hair style haha 🙂 have to give the cred to our girl Blake! xo

    1. Oh girl I needed more hair too haha definitely wearing extensions for this look! xo

  5. seriously perfect, you never fail to impress me!

that hair is absolutely incredible and the outfit is so simple and great! love that orange shade on you!

    xo mk

  6. Amber, these photos have to be some of my favorites of you! The orange sweater is such a perfect color on you with the blonde hair and your skin tone, its just perfection! You look like a Beautiful porcelain doll to me, so flawless and glowing.. I love your hair too, thanks for all of the inspiration and I hope you are feeling so well and enjoying every single day because you are special!

    1. Aw you are so nice that totally made my day!!! 🙂 Hope you have an amazing day! xo

  7. Amber you are georgeous! Love the combination of black and orange. I ‘ve recently bought one similar orange lipstick by Chanel and I love it.
I agree with Susan what she said about your skin, it’s perfect, what kind of products do you use? Kiss

    1. Aw thank you so much!! All my skin care products are under my SHOP MY BEAUTY tab!!! 🙂 I swear by them all!

  8. The little daisy ring is my favorite part of this outfit. It is so unexpected, yet so noticeable and very small at the same time. Love it. and I would never say no to wedge shoes.

    1. Aw thank you! and yes I cannot get enough of Heat Wave – I have pretty much been exclusively wearing it lately!!

  9. In LOVE with your hairstyle!! You did an amazing job and I can’t wait to see the tutorial! Loving this orange and black look. It’s so funny, I usually shy away from pairing those 2 colors together in fear of looking too Halloween-ish, but you show it can definitely be done! Hope Chauncey had a fabulous birthday 🙂

    1. Yes the tutorial will be up Monday!! And yeah I usually always think about the Halloween thing too haha I am surprised I didn’t with this one! xo

  10. When I saw the first picture I was like, “I hope there is a tutorial!” So, yay. I need to grow my hair longer! Question: You know how in that tutorial you made you just like trim the dead ends? Well, I’ve been like, addicted to looking at my hair in class and cutting off like, individual split ends. Haha. My sister says that’s horrible for my hair? What are you thoughts considering you do something similar?
I love the sweater by the way.

    1. Yes the tutorial will be up Monday so be sure to check back for it!!

For the hair trimming, honestly every hair dresser/individual has a different take on hair.. some people swear by trimming their hair and others don’t! I don’t like to trim my hair but that is just me personally! I do think every 6 months or so it is good to do a trim and take like 1/2 to 1 inch off but I never ever do it more than that! I know some hair dressers gasp when they hear that but honestly it works for me! I don’t really go by what the book says for anything, I just like to do what gives results and for me that is trimming individual ends every so often and then one trim every six months maybe! xo

    1. Thanks!! I actually added some highlights before I left for NYFW but since then have not done anything! xo

  11. Just got a similar sweater this weekend. I can’t wait to style it. You look beautiful in this color.

Hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend.

    1. Thank you!! And I actually got my nails done in NYC but I never looked at the names of the colors I picked out! They were Essie and it was just their basic white and then a tan color! xo

  12. Ah Amber, you look so famous everytime and everywhere! I can’t catch my eyes back of your perfect skin. Is that even possible to have so clear skin, and any pores? I never had some “really big” problems with skin, but since I am 20-something my pores comes to more visibly and fast dirty. Do you have some lifesaver secret?

Thank you for your time and take care with baby, I wish you all the best! Hugs from Slovakia (maybe you could to come and visit one day! 🙂 )

    1. Okay girl you are so sweet!!! Totally made my day! But honestly this was just good lighting.. and a good photographer. I definitely do not have perfect skin! I am lucky and don’t break out often, I credit that to being diligent in my beauty routine (see my SHOP MY BEAUTY PRODUCTS tab) to see what I use! But I do have uneven skin tone.. however, luckily that can be covered with make up haha 🙂 Anyways I do live by all my beauty products so if you are looking for new ones definitely try some of those! xo
