January Life Update : New Home + New Year
Happy very belated New Year!
I hope the year is going great for you so far. It has been a while since I have done a personal blog post. We moved into our home about four days before Christmas and we were just enjoying the holidays and have been soaking up being in our new house. We really feel like we are dreaming being here. Often we just look at each other and say “this is sooo amazing!” We worked really hard on the layout of the home, many many decisions about design and selections, and we spent so much time daydreaming about being in this home that it feels so so good to be here and to know it is our permanent home! We have of course loved everywhere we have been, even knowing it was temporary, but it really does feel good to feel like we have some roots here and we can feel settled.
I am 35 weeks now and have been having contractions. I never had any this early with my other two pregnancies, so I do wonder if this baby might come early? Who knows. I am super anxious to have this baby though! I definitely need more time to get the nursery wrapped up, I need to finish that this week, but I do feel good knowing I have everything I need for the baby! I also learned with my others that really the only things I REALLY need are a carseat, diapers, wipes, a onesie and my boobs ha ha. I will probably pack my hospital bag next week just because I am excited.
I seriously still feel like I am easing into the new year though. Not sure if it was moving or what, but I have been so thrown off! I normally am huge in setting resolutions and goals, and getting things going at the beginning of the year, but this year I had the hardest time even thinking of goals. I ended up coming up with some good ones that are mostly pretty personal, so I am not going to share them, but I am excited to work on them this year. Two of my contributors wrote posts about New Year’s resolutions, I really like the differing perspectives they offered, the first was on why it may not be the best idea to make New Year’s resolutions and the other is an encouraging post for those that want to stick to the ones they made (fitness focused.)
The kids are in soccer together and A is back in school and they are both back in their activities, so it has been a lot of taking kids to and from, enjoying family time, working on projects at home and of course working on lots of work projects. We have really exciting goals and things happening with work and with BFB Hair that I am super excited about!
Hope you are all having a good week.
XOXO,
Amber
My 3 Favorite Simple Hairstyles
We are officially moved into our new home, yay! Since we have moved in I have really loved this spot by my vanity. It has been such a fun inspiring space to get creative with my hairstyles, here are my 3 favorite simple hairstyles I am loving right now.For the first look I used our BFB Up in the color Barefoot Blonde, it’s 1 weft, and is the equivalent to 4 wefts. It adds thickness and volume to updos and is super quick to insert, perfect for anyone on the go! For the side twist, I used our BFB Fill-ins for added volume. For the simple little bun, I used one weft from my classic set, but the same look can be re-created with the Up.

Thank you again for being awesome and posting from the heart. I don’t know if you know this, but you are truly an inspiration. I’ve never been really good at planning and preparing, or even executing things I want to accomplish, and I’ve always been bummed about that. I’ve always had this desire to be prepared and get amazing things done, but it seems I stand in my own way most of the time. It’s something I’m working on, but anyway..you inspire me to be more productive, more prepared, and to always feel comfortable being myself. So I just thought I’d say thank you..it’s been a while. 😉
I love your hair tutorials! So helpful!

I had early contractions with my first and she was still a week late! Now I’m 21 weeks with #2, and this post was a nice reminder to break out the camera and capture that moment. Does David take these, or do you use a timer? I get so shy when my husband is doing the photographing (and I can’t have a glass of wine to loosen rn up lol)
So happy for you!! A belated congrats☺
