This was the funnest thing ever! We are already planning to do this again in November to see all of the foliage in Central Park from above. I can’t wait! I am terrified of heights and was so so nervous before this – I was secretly hoping they would cancel it because it was actually sprinkling outside but they didn’t (they said it was still safe) and this is $$$ so I didn’t want to lose the money ha! But I am so glad we went up because once you are up there it actually isn’t very scary! You are strapped in so you can dangle your feet out and that part is kind of a rush ๐ at least for me. David’s heart rate was probably the same as it is when he watches TV. Nothing scares him. But the wind is going so fast and pulling your legs that it feels like its going to rip you right out of the helicopter! If that makes sense. I was bummed that it was so cloudy when we went up but it ended up being great because it was dark enough that all of the lights were on in the city and light enough that we could still see. So much fun!!!
David and I both did some traveling and adventures before getting married so some things we do together one of us has already done it but we love to travel places neither of us have been and do things that are a first for both of us. This was a first for both of us so it was really cool ๐
Hope you guys have a good day!!!!
*I booked this through Fly Nyon (this is not sponsored but I have seen people ask these questions so wanted to throw this out there) and it was $500 per person for the ride we did. There are multiple options and some are cheaper. Ours was the 30 minute ride, I think its called The Classic. They do have promos on holidays like on memorial day they have 20% off (I saw the promo 2 days after I booked ugh don’t tell david! ha) so if you want to do it then set up a google alert for when they have a promo! Also for those who asked and like I mentioned above you have seat belts and are also harnessed in. xoxox
Ahhh my hands got all sweaty and tingly watching this. What kind of selfie stick did you use for your iphone here Amber? I’m on a hunt for a winnner.
Amazing views! Thanks for sharing
You are sooo lucky!!! It is one of my biggest dream to do an helicopter ride over a city such as New York! Your pictures are beautiful, how do you do to take such amazing pictures ?

Have you done, or could you please do a mini guide to your favourite places in NYC?
Amazing pictures, love your blog! ๐
Wow. Amazing. Just amazing.
Could you do a top knot tutorial? Love your hair in these pics!
We did this in Miami and I had the same feeling. I was so anxious but once in the sky it was amazing! So cool to see this in New York. I’d love to go in every city I visit but too expensive. But you learn and see so much from the sky!

This looks like SO MUCH FUN!! I love how the city is all lit up, even though it’s still light out, but I hope you get a clear crisp day for your next flight in November (best of both worlds)!! Also loving how your shoes match — makes for cute feet shots!
So fun! I bet it was gorgeous from that angle!

Please dismiss any negative comments (ahem, Karen)! You are a hard working mother that deserves to be comfortable. You inspire through your solid family, fashion and positive outlook. Thank you for all that you do!
So much fun! My hubby and I often take helicopter rides when we travel and it is a blast. It’s also the best way to sightsee. We took our 5 year old twin girls on a helicopter ride over Hawaii earlier this year and they loved it. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

Are you still a fashion blogger? I feel like you’re always wearing the same basic clothes all the time ๐ miss your real style. I used to be such a fan, looking for new bloggers now. Any suggestions?
Totally agree! Why on earth are you not wearing a billowing ball gown to go for a ride in a helicopter?! Or maybe a bodysuit and a miniskirt? That would also be entirely appropriate. I guess me and Karen ^ up there just don’t understand. Also, Karen…you sir, are a dick.
That’s a really mean comment! Didn’t you ever learn if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all? Sheesh.
Are you crazy?!?! Did you not see her gorgeous Sunday outfit, her super chic vest look…
Also if you notice, her “basic look” looks like it’s from the same since David is wearing the same outfit as well.
OMG, OMG, OMG!!! I could nevet do that! I would throw up big time! You a cool:-)
I came to NYC once on a holiday (I live in Australia), and the views are just gorgeous! I miss it, it was by far my favourite place (after disney world of course)!
This is so so cool! Such beautiful shots of the city!!

I’ve been following u for over a year, liking everything and telling friends they must check u out, loving all the posts, your amazing family, your style, gave me so much inspiration! Then all of the sudden you’re deleting my comments and blocking me. I never expected that from you. You always seemed like the sweetest person. it was on the last post. Tried to make it like nothing happened but I guess I did get hurt, because checking your blog again and seeing you on Instagram all of the sudden gives me such a bad feeling. I’m really disappointed

So fun! I love seeing familiar cities from a different perspective. One of my friends is a pilot, so I’ve gotten the chance to see SF from up above… but it’s different in a helicopter too! You can get so much closer!
SO SO awesome! You guys are always just doing THE coolest stuff. I am super afraid of heights too, so I would definitely be wishing for a cancellation ๐
