Barefoot Blonde^^You are about to see Halloween/super hero overload… I tried to only post a few but then couldn’t help myself. I just love these pics too much!Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde^^Chaunce only had that mask on for the few moments we took these photos – not that he would have let us keep it on longer than that anyways haha. I was surprised he even kept it on while we snapped these!Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde^^He woke up from his nap and we changed him into his costume and headed out the door so he was still a little out of it for the first half hour haBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde

MY DETAILS: BLAZER: Zara // JEANS: 7 For All Mankind // BOOTS: Stuart Weitzman (less expensive version here) // SWEATER: Equipment // LIPSTICK: Elizabeth Arden ‘Raspberry’ // David – SHIRT: Gap // VEST: Nordstrom (Sold out similar here) // JEANS: J Brand // BOOTS: The North Face // HAT: Slouch Headwear

COSTUMES: Batman Costume // A’s Lion Costume (looks more brown online – its orange like in the pics in person) // Chauncey’s Lion Costume // Robin Costume

The day before Halloween we took Atticus and Chauncey to a little party some friends were having at the park and they were dressed up as batman and robin. I kept getting such a kick out them walking side by side down the street together haha! It was soooo cute. Then on actual Halloween they were matching lions. I was lame and didn’t dress up! I bought a wig and everything and had plans to but I had gone to a spin class that morning and kept getting contractions after (I really thought the baby was going to come! We packed the hospital bag and everything) so I never did dress up. But ohhhhh my Halloween in the city is MAGICAL!!! Brownstones are amazing as is…. then add pumpkins and decked out Halloween decor and it is unreal. So glad we got to experience our first city Halloween! He loved running around the streets and seeing all the other kids… and of course eating suckers. He didn’t care for any other candy except suckers and ended up with one stuck to his leg and one in his lion mane by the end of the night. Lots of fun memories.

The night before Halloween my sister sent me a pic of her at the Sonic drive thru and she was rubbing it in that I wouldn’t get to have 50 cent corn dogs on Halloween (she is so rude 😉 ) me and David go every year and I LOVVVVE their corn dogs so so so much. So much that I even forgive them for always forgetting ketchup (ketchup should ALWAYS come with fries and/or a corn dog and/or tots……. always no excuse! Right? we shouldnt have to ask for this) and for having the longest waits ever in their drive thru. Those dang corn dogs are worth it! So anyways I was joking to David that we would get a rental car and go but then with all the contractions and everything I was thinking, okay whatever, next year I will double up. But then on our way home from trick or treating david told me we had a sitter at the house waiting and he had a rental car so we could go to Jersey and get those corn dogs! I was so happy. I know it seems ridiculous.. pay for a babysitter, get a rental car, drive to jersey… but it was so fun and so worth it. And yes I have 10 frozen corn dogs in my freezer because I am so not above reheating.

We filmed a bunch of our weekend since I am trying to be better at doing home videos and we decided to share bits and pieces of them in a vlog… so if you care to watch it is above! 🙂

PS here are pics from Halloween last year when Atticus was the cutest lil shark!!! And here is the post from when David and I were Westley and Buttercup!

Hope you all had a good Halloween!!!!

  1. I just wanted to say you have such a gorgeous family and your blog is visually stunning. Best wishes for your new baby girl.

  2. I just love your blog 🙂 I also want to give you props because I think you are AMAZING how you respond to everyone’s comments (for the most part)! There are so many bloggers out there that want lots of comments or lots of likes, but then don’t make any effort to interact! So THANK YOU! And keep up the good work!
P.S. So excited to see this gorgeous little beauty of yours coming soon!

  3. Love these pictures 🙂 My daughter is turning 2 next month and your A’s smile always reminds me of here!

I noticed you have the Bugaboo bee now! Curious what made you switch from the Uppababy you used to have. I used to have the Bee but sold it because I did not like the wobbliness of it. Are you planning on using it for your new baby girl?

I’m also expecting in a few months and am curious if you have a baby prep list (for the baby). Could use some inspo 🙂

  4. OMG, I can’t take all this cuteness Amber!!! Chauncey and Atticus is just too cute , my heart can’t take it! Love that they took to the costumes so well too! xx

  8. I love this post!! so much love in all your pictures! I was wondering if you could tell me what camera you use????

    1. Thank you so much!! That’s such a nice compliment 🙂 And I use a canon 5d mark iii! xo

  9. What a cutie butt! I love that Chauncey cooperated (for the most part)! My pup, Ellie, would have none of that haha I keep checking in to see if you have a new post… I hope you are all doing well and you had/are having a smooth and calm delivery of your baby girl if that is where you have been! Praying for a healthy baby and lots of rest for mama.

    1. Aww thank you Sara!! And I know! I was really surprised but he did good 🙂 And thanks so much!! I am doing good so far! I am so close ahh!! Can’t wait 🙂 xo

  10. Hi Amber! I’m thinking about purchasing a canon and don’t really have any experience yet. Do you have any suggestions on any lenses or editing tools? I absolutely love they style of photos you do, you’re family is sooo cute! Thanks! (:

    1. Hi Courtney!! I only recommend people getting the canon 5d mark iii if they have a good understanding of photography, which canon are you thinking about getting?! You could also do a workshop or some sort of thing to get the most out of your new camera 🙂 The lenses I use are a 24-70, 20mm, 200mm, and 50mm. Most commonly I use the 24-70 🙂 And I use a program called Lightroom to edit my pictures! I hope this helps!! xo

  11. I can’t get over how ADORABLE your little family is! Chauncey dressed up as Robin to match Atticus is too cute for words. Glad you guys had a fab Halloween. Also – I’m totally team Hocus Pocus over actual horror films. Ha! #adultchild

    XO, Jaime |

    1. Thanks so much Jaime!! You are too kind!! 🙂 And yay for Hocus Pocus!! I am glad I am not the only one that still likes it hehe

  12. Atticus and Chauncey are seriously the cutest! I love the Batman and Robin costumes!
    xo, Kyla – KyMarieC / @kycurrierlewis

  13. Oh my goodness, he’s the cutest little lion/batman! Atticus always seems to be having so much fun! <3

  14. Best vlog ever. Hahaha, you and David are the cutest! Love that you got a rental car just to go get corn dogs — spontaneity at it’s best. And root beer with half and half in it? I’ve never heard of that… now I might just have to give it a try.
Those Halloween costumes are just adorable. Love that you documented Atticus’s first trick or treating experience. Halloween in NYC looks fantastic! Just love every single thing about this post. Thanks for sharing!!

    1. Thank you so much!!! I am so happy you liked it yay!! And omg you will need to try it with half and half mmm it’s so good!! And aww thanks!! We all had a blast!! 🙂

  15. Seriously??? You’ve got a girl coming your way any day now??? Without the *massive* bulge in your belly this would be incredulous to all… i.e. YOU’RE GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! You really are an inspiration for moms to be EVERYWHERE… !!! BTW this is one of my top favorites… just so many amazing shots of all of you livin’ it large and keepin’ it real in NYC! Love to all of you. E

    1. Ahh I know!! She will be here any day!! We can’t wait! Thanks for making my day with your kind words, and for being such a big supporter to me 🙂

  16. So adorable! I’m very impressed at both Chauncey and Atticus – my dog looks like we’re torturing her if we put any kind of costume or garment on her. and my son was not into the costume thing this year. Best we could do was dress him in his Lakers warmups and pretend he was a basketball player. Nothing puffy or on the head allowed. I was bummed bc I totally had visions of these kinds of pictures with him in something cute! Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics.
    xx -kim

    1. Aww thanks so much Kim!! Surprisingly Atticus and Chauncey didn’t mind the costumes!! And omg that’s so cute!! I bet your little man looked adorable! Kids are the best 🙂 Thank you for reading!! xo

  17. These are the CUTEST pictures ever! I commented a few weeks back saying I I go to BYU in provo! So I was wondering when are you coming back to Utah? I would love, love, love to meet you! You are my inspiration as I would like to live in New York with a family some day!

    1. Thanks so much Jill!! 🙂 And I don’t know when I will be back, but most of David’s family lives there so we definitely visit at least once a year! Thank you for being so sweet!! xo

  18. Hahaha! LOVED THIS Amber! Oh my, love overflows in your family and how lucky we are that you allow us to share in these moments in time. Thank You! I’m bonkers over the pics of Batman & Robin (Chauncey’s mask is hysterical). Love those Stuart Weitzman boots too. You look beautiful & so happy Amber- Hugs to you all!

    1. Thank you!!! You are the nicest!! 🙂 I am so happy you enjoyed the post!! Love ya!

  19. Such priceless pics of Atticus and Chauncy! Love them! I adored your video, it made me wish I could spend a Halloween in NYC. Those stoops are amazing! We don’t have Sonics in WI. One opened a few years ago, and we were all excited, but it went out of business a year later. Our weather is too cold for drive thru so they are not popular here. But every time we travel, we love to stop at Sonic and get a malt!

    1. Thanks so much!! It was a great Halloween 🙂 You will definitely have to come to NYC one year for Halloween it’s one of kind! And oh dang!! Wish I could send a corndog to you haha!

  20. Atticus and Chauncey with matching costumes: the cutest thing ever! So sad that you couldn’t get dressed.. at least you already have a costume for next year!
    Xo from Italy

  21. Could these pictures possibly be more precious? I think not!!! They’re pulling at my heart strings. Chauncey’s lion mane is too cute! The Batman and Robin idea was also absolutely perfect.

    Love from South Africa

  22. Amber thank you so much for posting the amazing pics and video! Loved the costumes. I was smiling the entire time I was reading and watching. Thanks for sharing. And please post more videos! 25. I am an absolute fan of your blog girly! I wanted o ask you some advice blogger to blogger. I am still fairly new to blogging so I am still getting used to everything. I was wondering if I made a good choice to choosing Go daddy- via WordPress? is your blog on word press? what advice could you give someone like me that’s new to the blogger-sphere and looking to grow their site? WordPress is also quite confusing to me, so is there something on WordPress that i should make sure i get or add to really elevate my blog? any help would be appreciated!

    1. Thanks so much Killy!! I appreciate the support 🙂 And I personally use WordPress. Email me and I will try and get some blogging tips to you!! xo

  26. I always love your boots! Just want to give a shout out to UNISA BOOTS because they are extremely comfortable and have similar styles to Stuart Weitzman which are always better for the budget conscious fashionista. Check them out at DSW when you get the chance.

    1. Thank you love!! And I definitely will!! Thanks for the suggestion!! And good luck with your blog, it looks great!! xo

  37. The harmonica cracks me up! Reminds me of my baby sister, who developed a love for our Dad’s harmonica around the time she was three or so. All I can ever think of is this one time when we had just finished dinner and she wanted to do a “harmonica show” for us. We all sat down to watch, and she blew that harmonica, and green bean bits came spurting out of it! For whatever reason, she hadn’t swallowed her last bite of dinner, and there it was…
It’s still one of our favorite stories to tell at family holidays, and makes us crack up every time 🙂

    1. I know huh?! It is so funny to watch him play!! And no way?! That story is so cute/hilarious! My dad had a harmonica he used to play too!! The family tradition lives on haha!

    1. It’s a kind of a tradition for me haha! I love it 🙂 And aww thanks! He is the best!

  39. Any chance your husband can do a post about what he eats in one day? I’ve read so much about going sugar-free. Sounds like he might be doing the “keto” lifestyle/diet (no carrots, tomatoes, or carb-y veggies). I want my husband and I to give it a try too.

    1. That’s a great idea! I will mention the idea to him 🙂 Right now he is doing a ketosis diet!!

      1. Yay! Please tell him he may want to google Dr. Peter Attia (I’ve been reading his stuff on benefits of Ketosis lately…very interesting).

  40. haha omg!! Those are the cutest costumes for Atticus and Chauncey!! I just love Atticus’ facial expressions!
Glad you had a fun and safe Halloween, My husband and I were at the Met’s game this Halloween so no dressing up for us either (aside from wearing all Met’s gear!)
