Halloween Costume Ideas : Coraline

You know who gets really excited about Halloween? All. Four. Of. Us. Kaare decided he is only going to do family photo sessions if he gets to wear a creepy costume (I think he thought this would get him out of taking photos?) so now we’re taking the whole family costume thing even more seriously and it’s secretly my dream come true. Check out last year’s family Halloween costumes here if there’s any question about our commitment.

Obviously, we had to step it up this year (for the kid’s sake of course) and actually, Harlowe picked out the family costume theme this year. She wanted to be Coraline and I don’t blame her. How warm, comfortable and adorbs is this costume? If you haven’t seen the movie, go watch it stat. I don’t want to ruin anything for any of you, but Kaare and I are ‘other mother’ and ‘other father’ and Gunnar is Wybie. To be honest, at 3-years-old he hasn’t fully committed to the whole Halloween costume thing, but he was a good sport for a few photos and I have to give him credit for that. He’s wearing one of Harlowe’s jackets that I put gaffer tape on to make it look like Wybie’s. He also had the skeleton gloves, but he was being very three this day and refused to wear them.

This might be my favorite costume yet because it’s pretty budget-friendly and most of the pieces you can reuse again especially Coraline’s rain jacket and cute $19 boots. Who doesn’t love something you can use again and again?

Meet Bethann

Hi, I’m Bethann!  I’m wifed up and have two rambunctious kids. My family and I live in Los Angeles (in less than 1,000 square feet) and I love sharing bits of our life and writing about skincare, fitness and motherhood.

When I’m not chasing kids around or hustling through the influencer grind, I’m looking for ways to be more eco-friendly. I’ve recently challenged myself to give up shopping for a whole year.  It’s given me more more time for things I really love, like weightlifting, making protein smoothies, hanging out with my crazy family or sipping on a big ‘ole glass of local red wine.

4 Healthy Halloween Snacks

I absolutely love Halloween, especially after having kids and getting to see them dress up in their costumes. Their excitement for all things plastic spiders, pumpkins and candy is contagious.  There are so many Halloween related events that take place, besides trick or treating, that involve snacks and goodies that I wanted to try and find some balance while still being festive.
