Good news! We closed on our lot which makes this whole move and home build even more official! Even though we don’t have a home yet, and the lot is completely empty, it feels so good to have the first big step finished and out of the way. We can’t wait to keep working on it. We are planning to document the whole process in a series of blog posts and vlogs so we are starting with Episode 1, closing on the lot! This is the first time we’ve owned property, built, or done anything similar and we’re completely out of our element. We’re excited to document the process so you can follow along, and hopefully, it will help someone out there who ends up going through this same process.

My sister is a realtor in Arizona (the best one if you ask me 😉 ) and she is the one who found our lot for us so if you need a realtor in AZ her email is JamieBigelowAZ@gmail.com !

These pictures were taken the other week in bed with the kids! We are homebodies and love to just be at home with each other. Today we are headed to go apple picking and I am super excited because I love picking fresh fruit and so does Atticus! It is always so much fun to head upstate.

Hope you all had a good weekend!!!

  1. So exciting! I can’t wait to see more! Where will you live during build? How did you and David end up in NY after both growing up out west?

  2. Where did you get your bed set? It is so cute! I love how feminine and chic it is

  3. In regards to the diet martinelli…… have you ever tried those Ice drinks? They’re zero calorie carbonated flavored waters and they’re like $1 at smiths or maceys or walmart. They have this crisp apple flavor (which I’ve only ever seen at smiths) and it taste JUST like a martinelli. I’m OBSESSED with it. You guys have got to try it out.

  4. Amber, where is this comforter set from?! It’s so pretty, my husband and I have been on the hunt for a new one, and this one is perfect!!

  5. So exciting! But…I have to know which lipstick you are wearing in your video in this post! CONGRATS~

  6. how exciting! my husbands in the military and we’ve been overseas for a while and I cannot waiiiit to buy a real home and settle!

  7. Amber, I know you and David talked about maybe moving abroad while your house was being built. Is that still the case? If so I’d love to hear where you are moving to! I love your family and have been following you for years, it’s been great to watch you all grow! P.S. love your bedding, it is georgous!

  8. We just got back from visiting AZ! I was sceptical at first, I’m from Oregon and I was thinking oh Arizona just an ugly dessert , but wow it’s so beautiful and warm and I love all the cactus! We visited the Scottsdale area and it was beautiful. Hope to make many more trips!
Love your v logs, you and your family are just so sweet and silly! Good luck and can’t wait to see the progress!!!

  9. Congratulations, guys! Great idea about vlogging the whole process. I’m sure that Rosie and Atticus would love to look back and see how their home was built. And such a nice memory for you two. Loved the vlog. I felt like I was one of your friends celebrating your next step in life.

  10. where is that vase from with the plant on your bedside table? It’s beautiful 🙂

  11. Can you tell me where you got your bedding? Love it! We just bought a lot too and haven’t started the building process yet but I’m so excited!

  12. Y’all are awesome! Congrats! My husband and I are visiting NYC for the first time this upcoming weekend! Any recommendations on food, places to visit (out of the norm?). Wish there was a meet up! Do you ever randomly get ice cream with fans? 🙂 haha! It would make our trip to meet you and David!

    Have a blessed Tuesday ❤️

  13. Congratulations on closing on your lot! My husband is an architect of his own firm and does custom residential homes, so we were able to build our dream home a few years ago! It’s a lot of work, but so worth it , especially fun picking out all the design elements that make it special to you. I’m sure your home will be beautiful! Best of luck to you and your adorable family!

  14. Oh my goodness.. little Rosie and those pigtails will never get old! I love the picture of her on the bed with her arm in the air so so precious! I hope your moving/building process goes smoothly! Im very curious to see what your exciting plans are for once you have to move out of NYC on Dec. 1st! LOVE this post as always xo

  15. I’m so happy for ya’ll but also really upset. I’m coming to NYC in May and I really wanted to meet you and the family but you’re moving on!!!!!!!! So sad but still so happy. I can’t wait to see the new Clark home!

  16. Please tell me someone saw the dog taking a poop at 4:50 in the video! Im dying and dont know how I even noticed it!! But way cute video, you will love being close to family again, especially with the babies… 🙂

  17. Congrats on the move! I think it’s very smart to keep the location private, as well other things that are happening with your family. I’ve heard a couple scary stories from succesful bloggers and instagrammers, which have freaked me out a little. Haha I definitely dont have as many followers you guys have and I take precautions with what I post on my account too. Plus, its also nice to keep certain things private/special for yourself.

  18. Haha, I love the pics where Chauncey is kissing the kids- they’re the cutest! The sweetest pictures, Amber xxx

  19. Love this post! Also your bedding is to die for! It looks so cozy!

  31. Congrats! I have to laugh though at the dog doing his business in the background during a portion of your video!

  32. Congrats on the house- I am so excited to follow your journey! Also, I literally cannot get enough of Rosie- her pigtails are the cutest thing I have ever seen. I do have on question- do you have recommendations for everyday lipstick or blush colors? Your blog over the past few years have gotten me really into trying out lipstick but I need a few ideas for everyday colors, as my hair and coloring is similar to yours. Any recommendation is so appreciated 🙂

  33. Congratulations on the new lot!! Hope to see more exciting news about the house soon!
Rosie is so cute I cant even say! And you are such a beutiful family!

  34. Congrats!! And good call on keeping where you build private. People are crazy and you don’t want to become one of those horror stories.

  35. The jeans you are wearing aren’t the same as the ones in the link. Can you at least note “similar” next to the link?

  36. YAY Congratuatlations!! I bet y’all are so excited! I’ve been following y’all for awhile now and it is such a joy to see such a happy family with such great values! 🙂

Also, I ADORE the pillows on y’all bed! I’ve been looking for pillows for my own bed and I think those would be a perfect fit! (I’m talking about the gray European sham looking ones with the flower design) Can I ask where they’re from? Thanks so much in advance! 🙂 I’m excited to follow along on y’all home building journey!

  37. Congratulations! We hope to build in the next 3-4 years or so, and I know your home will be so beautiful. I can’t wait to follow along! We are re-doing our master bedroom and I’ve been scouring the internet looking for a new bed that has the foot of the bed up high like yours does – very hard to come by! What brand is it? Thanks girlie!

  38. Congratulations! We loved living in Phoenix, AZ and miss it terribly! I love your blog, you have the best family photos that make me smile!
