This was the second room we stayed in at the Madonna Inn. Not to sound like a broken record, but I really was in heaven. What more could a girl want? It’s almost as if they asked a group of 6 year old girls, “What is your dream hotel?” And then designed exactly that! Pink and glitter, everywhere. But they have some really unique “masculine” rooms as well. Apparently when the Madonna Inn opened in the 50’s, the husband and wife owners tried to out-do each other with room designs. The husband’s rooms are filled with rock walls and water falls, and the wife’s rooms are pink and glittery.  To make matters better, they really know their way around the kitchen! They have the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever hard! And, the last morning, David went to go get “breakfast” and returned with an 8″ pink cake! (He knows me too well) So, I had cake for breakfast and it was glorious. But not going to lie, the cake was 80% frosting and 20% cake — I like my cakes the other way around so I mostly tried to dig into it and get the cake bits so by the end it looked like Atticus had tried eating a cake for the first time or something haha it was a mess. But luckily I snapped some pics before I destroyed it. I took a moment to counter my indulgences and work out a bit and I made a quick fitness video to show how I do a quick workout when I’m at hotels without fitness centers, so keep an eye out for it on my YouTube channel.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m in LOVE with Wildfox sweaters. I’m loving the light sweater/shorts combo for the approaching warmer weather. That being said, we’re headed to Jamaica tomorrow! I can’t wait because it will be my first time there! We are also flying out my sister Ashley because while we are there we decided we would shoot a couple fun looks for Spring and Summer and I want Atticus to have 100% attention on him since we will be near pools and the ocean so she is coming to watch him while we shoot a couple campaigns! It will be a party! I am so happy she is always down for a trip and that she loves to travel as much as I do. I also love that Atticus will get to spend some time with his aunty!! He lovvvvves her. We got Atticus a life jacket since he can crawl (and fast!) now and he looks so funny/adorable in it haha!

Today was one of those days with Atticus where I really just wanted to pause time and remember every single detail about him and just the time we were spending together. He was cracking up because he can now stand up on his own and anytime he does he looks up and does this scrunchy nose smile with his toothy grin and starts giggling so hard. It honestly cracks me up. It felt like we were just best friends laughing and having fun and after an hour of that my stomach and cheeks were hurting from laughing so much. It was one of the best days I have ever had in my life. So cheesy, I know but so true and I just am obsessed with him!!

Hope you have a great week!!

  1. I loved your pictures from the Madonna Inn! Looks so great. My sister and me want to go there one day and definitely take the sparkling room. Glad you enjoyed it, A looked like he loved it too. 🙂

  2. You are so spoiled, look at that cake! Adding this to my bucket list!!

  3. I found your blog while I was pregnant and it is hands down my favorite blog to read! Your pictures are gorgeous, that hotel room is to die for! I’d love to see a tutorial sometime on how you do your makeup..mostly your winged liner because it’s perfect. Thanks for sharing pictures of your travels! Xoxo

  4. I’m so jealous that you are headed to Jamaica! We spent our honeymoon there and it’s such a special place!!! Love these photos of the Madonna Inn, and that cake looks delicious (but I agree I like a larger cake to icing ratio!!) I can’t wait to see your sanps from your trip!!!

  5. I was wondering where that “pink room” is in your youtube hair tutorial as I knew your furniture does not look like this. What a princess room and how sweet of David to bring you this beautiful cake as breakfast lol. Well with your body that is OK but I have not eaten any sugar since Christmas (and still have not a body like you lol). The photos were wonderful to look at Amber! Love your blog! xoxo, Sissi

  6. Oh my gosh! This room! It is perfect.
Have fun in Jamaica! Can’t wait to see your insta pics 🙂

  7. This place looks so incredible!!
You should come to the KY derby this May, I feel like you would love it! I live right outside Louisville but I have never been able to afford to go.

  8. Amber – I really want to say thanks for being such an inspiration. I think it’s amazing you were able to complete your dream of moving to NYC while at the same time having a happy and healthy baby. More importantly I really admire how you guys LIVE your lives with your baby.

You include him in everything, you aren’t the couple that just trap yourself in your home for the first year, obsessed with baby routines (where things can still go wrong, babyhood is a crapshoot) and keep yourselves locked up. You get out, you experience, you live. It’s so refreshing to see a couple that, IMO, is doing it right. Congrats on being so young and figuring that out so fast lol.

    Can’t wait to see more!

  9. That hotel looks amazing. And I love that room! I had never heard of that hotel before but it is now on my bucket list too! Cake for breakfast sounds amazing. That is totally something my husband would do to just randomly show up with a cake for breakfast haha. Also, love love love that flamingo sweater. Too bad it’s almost $130 CAD :S ..don’t think I can justify spending that kind of money on a top when my 8 month old will probably just get it dirty anyway haha.

  10. The Madonna Inn looks like I would be in heaven! Definitley need to stay there when I am over that way! I have always wanted to go to Jamaica so I am super excited to see your pictures! I hope you have a great trip! Also side note: I am 17 and from Arizona and have been following you for a long time now and I just want to say thank you for inspiring me again and sparking my creativity! I have decided to start my own fashion/lifestyle/beauty blog and youtube channel! I have wanted to do this for years but I have finally decided to commit to it and do it (I am so excited!) Also I have always wanted to be a mom, and I can’t wait until I get married and have kids. I hope I can be half as good of a mother and wife as you are! Youare such an inspiration!

  11. Obsessed with these photos, and your life. Haha. Hopefully one day my husband and I will be able to travel as much as you guys! The Madonna Inn looks so beautiful! Now I want to go there. What kind of camera do you use? I’m needing to upgrade mine! xo

  12. SO beautiful!! Love these photos, you’re so fab! 🙂 I’ve lived in CA my whole life and have always driven by + it’s on my bucket list — when my fiancé and I get married this spring we are so going!!

  13. Wow I love the view from the Inn! So pretty! That is so fun that your sis gets to come with you to Jamaica! I love that you get to do what you love each day! It is super inspirational, and motivates me to keep working on my blog and doing what I love 🙂 I know what you mean about freezing time as well, my daughter just turned one and I wish I could replay so many things from her first year over and over again. I definitely try to enjoy each moment 🙂

  14. Reading about your fun and sweet day with your baby got me teary-eyed! I have three, my oldest is in kindergarten now, and my youngest is 18 months. I know you’ve heard it a million times, but it’s true: They are babies for such a short time, enjoy every moment. I am happy you love it. Atticus is so cute and happy, you can tell that he is lovingly taken care of by his mommy and daddy. 🙂

  15. Ahhh love all the pink and florals! Cake for breakfast is the way to do it ;). I thought I was ridiculous for eating Sprinkles cupcakes for breakfast. Have a blast in Jamaica! 🙂

  17. I NEED TO STAY THERE! It looks like the ultimate girly dream!! The pink glitter walls are my favorite, I wish I could talk my husband into painting our walls like that! 😉 The cake, your hair, the location – what a beautiful vacation! Second, please please please…could you let me know what camera lens you are using in this blog post? I have been waiting MONTHS (been asking you since last October) to buy one because It would really help to know what you use. I’ve worked extreamly hard for the money for a good lens and I know you don’t usually answer comments but it would mean the absolute world to me. ❤️

    1. Ok, so I just mentioned to someone that I would be sharing more about my camera equipment in a post soon, but since you’ve been waiting so patiently, I’ll tell you now that our go to lens is the 24-70 2.8. 24. Ok, this room is LITERALLY heaven. Pink Sparkle is basically my favorite color, because the only thing better than pink is when it is sparkling pink, ha! So jealous of all of your traveling! I don’t know how you do it with a baby, my little girl is a downright nightmare when we travel! Have a fun trip!

    1. I know right? Every little girl’s dream! Atticus is a pretty good traveler but he’s had his moments! haha, but yeah always more of a challenge with a young one!

  25. Girl, I’m gonna say I am jealous of all your traveling! Jamaica – never been there! Make sure to post pictures! Atticus is getting so big, it’s insane. He is the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen. You’re in for some stressful days once he can walk!

    1. It really is something to experience isn’t it? It’s our first time, do you have any recommendations?!

      1. Oh my goodness, you have to try some Plantains…they are a bit sweet but really yummy. They remind me of a sweet potato but I believe it’s a banana. Baby A will love it! Saw on IG that you made it safely…have a blast and enjoy the warm weather!!
