Last week we went upstate to a farm to pick some organic berries and kale! We have been to farms for apple picking but never for berry picking, so it was a first for all of us and so so fun! Atticus loved collecting all of his berries in his box and Rosie had fun eating all of them. Seriously, she ate SO many berries! We were all covered in smashed berries and berry juice by the end. I am still not sure if my dress will recover fully haha. When we left the house it was early in the morning so we had pulled the kids straight from bed, took off pajamas and changed diapers, and straight into the car. We ate breakfast on the way because we wanted to get there before it was too crowded/too hot. When we pulled the babies out of the car they looked so cute in just their little diapers we decided to not put pants on that day 🙂 diaper babies are my favorite! Well, lil bare bum babies is even cuter, but babies running around in diapers screams summer to me. When we were in Utah at the cabin all the littles were waddling around in just diapers and it was the best. We have put our babies in Seventh Generation diapers since Atticus was a few months old. I love the natural their plain diapers but also the subtle designs of their animal print diapers! I also love that they don’t have any fragrances and are made for baby’s sensitive skin. They also last all night long which is good since our babies know how to chug milk.
When we left the farm we were all sweating and very tired!! Something about this humid heat just takes it all out of you. The whole way to the car Atticus was telling everyone “buh bye! hab a dood day!” then we plopped in the car and the babies were sleeping almost instantly.
Later that week we made a fresh raspberry cream pie with crumble on top with all of our berries we brought home! Atticus is very into helping with everything lately – from dishes to laundry to baking – whatever it is – he loves to help! Its so fun to see how quickly he picks up on things and loves when we cheer for him after he does it on his own. We love so much seeing him be so proud of himself.
