You guys have probably seen on Instagram that we moved (still in nyc just a new apartment)! It was a bit crazy moving with a newborn but we couldn’t be more happy in our new space. Our last apartment was really small and Atticus is such a busy body that I really wanted more room for him to run around. As soon as we got to our new apartment the first time Atticus and Chauncey were running laps around the apartment and running up and down the hallway, I seriously wanted to cry I was so happy seeing them so excited! So the stress was all worth it for that moment. We are still getting settled and organizing everything.. I forget how long it takes to actually get settled! But gosh I love our space and I cant wait to show you guys more of it.

We have been loving all hanging out in the new playroom/Atticus’ room once doors get installed! So these pictures are kind of what our days look like.. only I am not always in a dress haha. I got this dress and by the time I could wear it I realized it was too cold out and so I figured what the heck ….. may as well wear it for a day of doing nothing at home right?? So normal. K not really but truly I would wear this dress like I would pajamas because it is SO soft and breastfeeding friendly. It also made me much more productive so I am considering throwing on comfy dresses like this more often.

I love having my girl sleeping on me and watching my boy play. I am getting used to only having one arm and am slowly mastering small tasks that normally take two hands haha… like putting Atticus in his highchair or in and out of the tub etc. The more we go explore with two kiddos the easier it gets so I am hoping by the time we go on our first trip we will have this thing down! When David isn’t working he is tons of help and we can tackle both kiddos or he takes both and lets me (try) to sleep in. I am mainly struggling with the part where both of them need me at the same time – that is a bit stressful to me and I dont know who to help first ha but I am getting the hang of it. If any of you moms of two have advice or tips and tricks please do share!

PS tomorrow (Monday) is mine and David’s anniversary! yay!

  1. Beautiful photos! And your kids are gorgeous! I am a new mom and I’m wondering what advice you would have for someone who wants to breastfeed fashionably? What are your favorite pieces and where did you find them? 🙂

  2. Hi Amber! My husband and I will be moving to NYC in May and I LOVE your apt.. i know you have moved but where is this apt located? General area? Not quiet sure where we want to be! We have a golden as well.. so I would love to be near the park!

  3. Hi!
Where is this apartment? We are currently looking for a bigger one (baby on way) and this looks like an amazing size!

  4. I’ve been thinking of buying the Sven sofa but can’t find reviews online. How do you like it? In some pictures online it looks orange. Does it have any orange in it or is it a true cognac leather? Thank you for your time!

    1. We love it!! It is definitely an orangish tan color and if you click on the link for it, it has all the material details and everything. I hope that helps!! 🙂 It’s a great couch!

  5. Hello Amber! First off, I am a total fangirl of your family!!! Seriously the sweetest bunch! I was wondering if maybe you could share the details of the yellow dress you wore on thanksgiving..? I am in LOVE with it! Thank you. and God bless you guys!!

  6. I love how you capture natural pictures in life, there are so many staged pictures now a days. You all look so happy, I love this ❤️ You’re such a good mom

  7. Hello, Amber.
I love you so much ❤

you are beautiful and your inside is beautiful too.
I wish the best of things for you are lucky❤

    1. Hi Maral!! Thank you for the kind words! I loved reading it 🙂 Love ya too! xo

  8. You are such a great mother! I love following your blog and Instagram and of course seeing your snapchats. You have a very beautiful family and your style is awesome. I am 18 years old but I dream of having a future as cute as yours. Congrats on your new place it is gorgeous 🙂

    1. That is too nice of you!! Thank you so much Alexis 🙂 I am so happy you are following along!! It means the world to me! xo

  9. It looks like you’re doing an amazing job! I think the key thing is to not judge yourself on the little thing that hasn’t gone to plan in the day but just to remember the bigger picture and that this stage of life is so short and they will be grown so quickly. I have a 20 month gap between my girls and it’s so lovely seeing them grow to become best buddies! Also slings are a lifesaver and mean you get to have two hands back! xx Hannah

    1. Thank you!! I appreciate the wise advice 🙂 I totally agree!! Thanks again!! xoxo

  10. Your reinvented style is really appealing. I think you know I live in a museum, which is great for me, art critic and art historian, with all of my collections, but not at all practical, accept for me and lil’ Brigitte. I do like the airiness on my home, which you have in abundance, but most of all I like your clean, minimalist approach, which is ideal for any young family, especially your. Feliz Navidad.

    1. Thanks so much Ehren!! I am so glad you like the style 🙂 You’re the best!

  11. You are thee cutest mama! It took me a good 6 months to really get the hang of having two babes, so don’t you worry you will get it down it just takes some time to figure out some tricks to make things easier. One thing I learned that helped me so much was to calm my mind when both kids were crying. I know it sounds cheesy but it realllllly helped. I would take big inhales and big audible exhales (as I was helping them with what needed to be done) and tell myself “just breathe” and “just stay calm” . It doesn’t seem like much but this honestly changed my life as a mom!
Another thing that really helped me was wearing Emerson in a baby carrier around the house so that I could have my hands free to play with and help Truman.
Also a swing. Oh my goodness our mama roo saved my life!! I wish I could send you one if you don’t already have one because that helped me soooo much.
Once Rosie starts to nurse faster your life will get so much easier. That will be soon.
So happy for you! There is nothing better than having those precious babes in your life and sharing them with your best friend/ husband! Enjoy it sweet girl!
    You got this!

    1. Aww thank you so much!! You are too sweet 🙂 And okay good! That makes me feel better hearing that. I loved every piece of advice!! I agree with the swing and wraps (they’re lifesavers)!! Thank you for sharing all this. I loved reading your comment!! xoxo

  12. I’m only 15 but I love seeing pictures of your gorgeous family. I just hope that in the future that everything will be as cute as yours. You are truly blessed!

  13. Hi Amber- congratulations on your new baby! So precious! Our babies are very similar in age – my 1st is 18 months and my 2nd is 12 weeks! It’s been so fun and difficult too of course! The more time that goes by the easier it gets and everyone adjusts… I have found that it’s like one moment it’s crazy and they both need you and then the crazy mellows and all is back to normal after a bit! The roller coaster gets easier hang in there!!

    1. Thank you so much!! You are too sweet 🙂 And wow! Thanks so much for the amazing advice!! I love hearing from other mamas!!

  14. We had three babies born in less than three years and they were all in the NICU, so we know what it’s like to have little ones. Ours are all healthy and happy, so we must have done something right. Your apartment looks adorable and your children are sooo cute! Good luck and try to remain calm…follow your heart and everything comes together beautifully.

    1. Wow!! That is so crazy! I am so glad everyone in your family is healthy though!! 🙂 And thanks so much!! I am glad you like the style! xo

  15. Congrats. My baby is 2 weeks old. How ofrenda do you breastfeed rosie ? Do you SLEEP At all? Please share tour secreta u look atún ningún and happy. I fe el exhausted

    1. Thank you Maria!! And congrats to you!! How exciting 🙂 I try to breastfeed every couple hours during the day! And I am sleeping a little bit haha! Good luck to you!! xo

  16. I love seeing all of the growth and change that comes with life, and you definitely have an exciting one! happy ani to you and David!

    xoxo hails

  17. What a way to wrap up 2015: new baby AND a move! That’s quite impressive, and huge congrats!! Looks like such a great place (and as someone who also lives in an apartment with a toddler, I feel the appreciation of the extra space!!)

    1. Haha seriously!! Going big!! It was very busy but we are loving our new place 🙂

  18. I had my second earlier this year. I know exactly what you mean about them both needing you at the same time! I try to prioritize the need and take care of what is most important, or sometimes, if it’s a quick (er) task like a diaper change vs. nursing, then I will do the shorter task first. Hopefully that makes sense? It takes a little while, but you will find what works best for you!

    1. That makes total sense!! Thank you so much for sharing the advice!! I loved it!!! 🙂

  19. So jealous of your new apartment! I can only see the back of the couch, but it looks exactly like what I have been searching for! Where did you find it or is it something you already had?

    1. I am so glad you like it!! Thanks Ashton!! And it should be linked about 🙂 xo

  20. I know you just had a new born, but I can’t wait to see you next family trip together!!! Your trips are what inspire me to follow you, and believe I can still do my travelling once I’m a mommy myself. Your vacations are so beautiful and lovely, and your son seems to love them as well!

    1. Thanks so much!! We have a few trips already and we are so excited!! Thanks for the sweet words!! I appreciate it!! xo

  21. I absolutely love the look and design of your new place,e you have such wonderful taste! I am still working on transitioning our toddler into her big girl room to make room for the nursery, so I am so impressed at how quickly you have settled! Rosie is such a doll!!

    1. Thank you so much Candace!! We are excited to share it when it is done 🙂

  22. We have two boys almost exactly 2 years apart (who are now 13 and 11 !) I will second what I’ve read in your comments already. Help the older one first. They usually are quicker to help, just need to reach something etc and it keeps the older one from resenting the little one. Also you can put together a special basket full of things that A only gets to play with when you are busy. Or come up with a special code word (and make it super special) that you can tell A when you can’t help him, make it mean he can do something he cant always do.. like jump on your bed 😉

  23. I am seriously dying over how cute this new place is! I love that it’s not perfect and you have toys scattered throughout. As a fellow blogger, I know how you can feel pressured to have it looking spot on all the time but that’s not real life! I love how you don’t try to fake it. Also, you look amazing…I can only pray that I will look that good after having two kids!

  24. Happy Happy Anniversary to you both!!!! Much happiness today and always!!!! ????❤️????

  25. Awh, such a lovely home, the dress is so angelic. I would wear it all the time too! Happy Anniversary, Dec 14th is my youngest son’s b-day ha! He’s 16 today! xoxo

  26. So so beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️It!!!! What a great place to raise your gorgeous family and of course Chauncey!!! Much love luck and happiness to all!!!! xoxoxo

  27. Happy Anniversary! Your new place looks beautiful! I love all the natural light, that beautiful couch, and the fun animals on the wall in the kids room. You look stunning in that white dress, Rosie is so precious with her little headband, and Atticus is cute as ever with his arms wrapped around Chauncey! xoxo

  28. Your new apartment looks so lovely and filled with light. Beautiful dress and happy anniversary!!!

  29. My first was born 06/08/14 and my newest on 11/13/15. We pretty much have kids exactly in age haha. I try to get the older one involved in helping and yes it’s ok to let the baby cry for a min or two while tending to the older one. I feel it’s important to give the older one “more” attention since they behave better when all their needs are met and don’t feel jealous. It will get easier. I struggle with it too. We have two arms; one for each of them. Congrats on the new addition and new home. Gorgeous dress.

    1. Wow we really do!! How fun!! And that is a great idea 🙂 Atticus loves to be right in the middle of things haha! Thank you for the wise advice, I loved it!! 🙂 xo

  30. Aw, I LOVE the new house! It looks beautiful and fresh! I am so happy for your and your always-lovely family! You are rocking the mom of two duties!! Happy Anniversary love!

    xo Angela

  31. I love seeing your world, it has been such an inspiration! Thank you for taking the time to share!

  32. The best advice that my mom ever gave me was that it’s ok to put the baby down to cry once in a while to help our older son (the age gap with our kids is about the same with you and yours), I always think of that when both kids need me and it usually calms me enough to put our baby down for a second, help Kyle out, and then grab her again, at least no one has died yet haha.

    1. I love the advice!! Thank you so much Paige!! It means so much to me that you took time to share this!! xo

  33. New place is looking amazing already! you guys should totally do an apartment tour on your channel! And happy anniversary to you both! cutest family ever! xoxo

    1. Thanks so much!! I am so happy you like it 🙂 We are going to do a tour soon when it is all done! xo

  34. Okay, so you just literally pushed out baby Rosie less than a month ago and you look like this… are you an angel? I mean you must be, you already made 2 precious angels???? xxA

    1. Oh my goodness you are too sweet!! Thanks so much Anna!! You totally made my day!

  35. Your new apartment looks great! I love to watch my siblings play. My sister is 17 months ( June 22, 2014) and my brother will be six in February. I’m very excited to see Atticus and Rosie grow up together, also to see Rosie’s hair braided when she gets older.
    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! Much love <3

    1. Thank you!! We are loving it 🙂 And how sweet! I bet they love having you as a sister! Thanks for the comment!! xo

  36. Your family is so beautiful, and I agree, wearing a gorgeous dress at home makes you feel great!!;) I have some tricks to distract my older son(he is 2,5) when I’m with a newborn. I bought lots of inexpensive toys in a dollar store ( tiny cars, pencils, whistles, ) and wrapped them in separate packages in a gift paper, so when I feel that my older son gets fussy, I tell him that if he bahaves good he gets a present- always works;)

    1. Aww thank you Elena!! I loved reading your comment!! Your tips are so helpful!! Thanks again!!! 🙂 xo

  37. Congratulations! I just found your blog thanks to Kelsey (@mysweatlife on Instagram), and I am so happy I did! Love it! You are such an inspiration! I have a 2yo daughter and lately I have been feeling really down, bad mood and getting tired of being a stay at home mom. Your blog really made me straighten up and put a smile on my face. Made me realize that I am living the dream I had 5 years ago. Dream home, dream boyfriend and an amazing daughter. Still sometimes I find myself complaining haha, but I guess thats very feminine 😀 Anyway, happy holidays to you!

    1. Thanks so much!! And yay!! I am so glad you are following along now 🙂 I hope I can give you a little inspiration here and there! I love hearing from other mamas because believe me, I need some inspiration and advice as well!! Thanks for the sweet comment!! xoxo

  38. I love the light and bright airiness of your apartment. So many NYC homes are small and don’t feel so bright and happy as your new home- I know your family will love it there! Also, that dress…PERFECT!

    1. Thank you so much!! We are loving the extra space 🙂 It is so nice and open!! Thanks for the comment!! xo

  39. Beautiful pictures! The apartment looks huge!! Did you have to move to Brooklyn to get that kind of space?

    1. Thanks so much Abby!! And no, we are still in Manhattan, Upper West Side 🙂 Just a few blocks from other place! We are loving it!

  40. AWW Happy Anniversary!
What does David do for work? (or is it top secret haha) Does he have to leave you during the day? If so you are AMAZING tackling 2 kiddos by yourself 😀

    1. Thank you so much!! And he actually runs the blog full-time with me 🙂 It keeps us busy!! xo

  41. My son was 21 months when his baby sister was born, so he was my big helper. I never blamed anything on the baby (“we can’t go yet, the baby needs her diaper changed”, “the baby needs to sleep first” etc.), I said things like “Can you help me get the baby’s diaper ready?” He loved handing me wipes. Or I would tell him to pick out a book while I was nursing, and I’d read it to him. 🙂

    1. Aww how sweet!!! I love that!! Thanks for the positive and wise advice!! xo

  42. where is the pink couch!!? that’s my all time favorite thing! haha! but the new place is lovely:) and the babies are ADORABLE!!!:)

  43. Great post! Happy to see you’re all settling nicely!

  44. Congrats on your new addition, Rosie is adorable! And congrats on your new place it looks amazing! These pictures are so beautiful and it looks like you are handling being a new mom of two just perfectly! It’s so crazy because I’ve been reading your blog for so long, I remember when your only “baby” was Chauncy! Thanks for sharing, it’s an inspiration!

    1. Thanks so much Sam!! We just adore her 🙂 It has been an adjustment but I love having two kiddos by our side! It’s so fun!! Thanks for the kind words!! xo

  45. Your new place looks adorable already, specially since your two kids are beautiful and you look so happy as a mother of two. I’m impressed you were able to manage a moving and two little ones. Well done! Have a lovely anniversary you two. Can’t wait to see more of your new place. You look beautiful after just a few weeks after labor. Lucky!!

    1. Thank you so much!! We love our new place 🙂 And wow you are too sweet!! Thanks for making my day! xo

  46. Happy pre-Anniversary to you and David!

From what I can see, I am digging the new apartment. The way you have decorated it even is gorgeous. And I wish I was there to see Atticus and Chauncey run the halls of the new apartment. It would have been so precious to see. I’m happy for you all.

And I, too, can’t wait to see more of your apartment – and Rosie – and everyone else!!

    1. Thank you so much!! 🙂 And yes! We are loving the change! I can’t wait until it is all done! Thanks for the kind words!! xo

  47. Beautiful! Love the dress!

And I’m so happy you love your new home. Can’t wait to see more!

    Happy anniversary!

  48. I have three little ones that are each 18 mo apart(3, 20 mo, 9 week old), so I know the feeling of being needed by more than one at a time! I second the suggestion of wearing a carrier around the house to free up your hands. I use a soft wrap when they’re this tiny–love the solly, but my go-to is the Boba wrap. It would be great for NY because it’s a bit thicker than the solly.

I received this advice after I had my second, and it was to tend to the older child first. The reasoning was that they will remember it more. It has served me well. The little one may have to fuss in protest for a moment, but once you give that attention to the older child and they feel loved and appreciated, they won’t give you such a hard time when you need to comfort the baby. It’s tough having the little ones so close because the “big brother/sister” are still babies themselves–we just expect more out of them because now they have this grand new title 🙂 Sending love and prayers your way to your beautiful growing family. What a privilege and blessing to be a mom. It’s tough some days, but you can do it! You’ll love having them so close in age!

    1. Wow!! You must be busy busy!! I bet they’re all adorable 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing your amazing advice mama!! It meant so much to me!! xoxo

  49. Love your pics!! Congrats on your sweet babies… I have 4, and my favorite advice is… to say “Mommy can can only do ONE thing at a time…” teaches patience!! You got this 🙂

  50. Beautiful as always, Amber! Your place looks lovely! It is definitely a challenge to balance once you have more than one little person, but I think it is a GOOD thing for them. It is a blessing for them to learn that the world does not revolve around them and to learn things like patience, putting others first , etc. (Not that Rosie is at that stage yet…) 😉 I always remind myself that I am truly doing my best as I raise my four little ones. Hang in there during the newborn stage when the needs are literally never-ending. As you know from Atticus, it doesn’t last and so quickly she’ll be bigger and she won’t be so innocently helpless. You’re doing a GREAT job. <3

    1. Thank you so much Angie!! We are loving our new place 🙂 And I just wanted to say thanks so much for the amazing advice!! I loved reading this!! xoxo

  51. Congrats on having a little girl! We have a 2 year old boy and a 3 mo old girl. It’s hard but it gets easier. The best advice I can give is to get a carrier. I LOVE the tula because it’s the only carrier I’ve found that doesn’t hurt my back. I just roll up a couple of receiving blankets and put them under her butt so she fits in it perfectly. I wear her a good part of the day because it allows me to have both hands! I’m sure you’re doing a great job.

    1. Thank you so much Taylor!! And thanks for sharing your words of wisdom with me!! 🙂 I loved it!! xoxo

  52. These photos are PRECIOUS! I love the close ups of your baby girl on your chest and the ones of your son with the dog. Makes my heart melt! And your dress is gorgeous and so romantic. Love everything about this post!!

    A doctor’s pearls on health & beauty!

  53. Happy (early) Anniversary! You guys have so much to celebrate with the new baby and a new apartment. So exciting that you have a new living space, I am sure that more space will be nice with two little ones now! Love the dress, it looks so comfortable!

    Meghan |

    1. Thank you so much!! You are so kind!! I am sorry I am a little late responding to this but I loved reading it! xo

  54. Sadly, I don’t have any advice but a few days ago I was talking to a friend about my concerns when it comes to having two babies (because they are babies) and she said: “is not that you are getting another child, it all about your baby becoming a big brother”. It made change my perspective and now I really want another baby right now hahaha (excuse my bad english)
    Tons of loveeeeee!!

    1. I love that!! so so true! Atticus has really adapted to his big brother role and it is so sweet to watch 🙂 Thanks for sharing that!! I loved it!! 🙂

  55. It will get easier the older Rosie gets. I know it’s so hard right now. I cried a few times. Hopefully your husband can help with A. Good luck and love your posts and photos.

  56. Congrats!! The new apartment looks beautiful with the hardwood floors and tons of light coming in from the windows (my favorite thing is having a bunch of natural light)! Everything looks perfect, though I was a little sad to no longer see the pink couch, haha 🙂 And happy early anniversary to you and David!! <3

    1. Thanks so much!! We are loving it 🙂 Thank you for following along!! xo
