DRESS: Wayf (also love it in red!) / FLATS: M. Gemi / CARDIGAN: Mara Hoffman / SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker / DAVID’S WATERMELON SHIRT: Globe / A’S SHIRT: J. Crew / A’S BOWTIE: J. Crew

Is this not heaven?!??!?! Truly one of the most magical experiences ever was driving through Holland and passing tulip field after tulip field. It was absolutely gorgeous and never ending! We passed so many but stumbled upon one that had a farmer outside. David went to talk to him and he said we could come walk around if we wanted. We got talking to him and his name was Henk and him and his wife live in a little house RIGHT next to the tulip field. This field is their freaking backyard?! How amazing is that?! He told us all about his tulips, how he runs his farm, and even showed up his greenhouses! Then he gave us those two bouquets of tulips! Such a fun experience and something I will remember forever. I was giddy the whole day!

Earlier that day we went to see all of the windmills and that was also amazing. I didn’t know people lived IN the windmills and it was fascinating to hear why they built them and to get to see inside of them.

I wore this white dress which is a fabulous dress if you need a classic white dress for summer that is also modest. It is perfect length and I love the fit of it. It also comes in red and I am definitely buying in red too because its such a great summer classic.

I hope you are all having a good week!!!

  3. Hi Amber,

My husband, one year and I are going to Amsterdam for our second time in April. Last time we were there it was November. So this time we are renting a car and doing tulip fields. From my understanding you cant just wander through random fields etc. Could you recommend a driving route, where you go see windmills as well? Like where you took your pictures below? Thanks

  4. Hi! I’m about to have a baby girl and would love a similar bonnet for the winter months. Can you please share where you found Rosie’s? I just love it (and her)!

  5. So beautiful!! I wish u can visit a tulip farm one day!! Can you tell me when Rosie’s bonnets are from? This pink one and the gray one. Sooooo cute!!! Obsessed with them. Need them in my babies life. Thank you!

    1. Hi Mila! Did you ever find out where the bonnets are from? I love them too! Thanks!

  6. I follow you on snapchat and just heard about your experience thinking the tulip fields in Oregon were in Holland! I’m actually from Oregon and go to that tulip farm every year! You were right about it being totally decorated in Dutch stuff.

    1. Oh no way!! I bet it was gorgeous!! We will definitely need to go next year 😉

  7. I catch myself smiling when I read your posts. You have a beautiful family.. Atticus & Rosie are such happy little ones. The tulip fields are mind blowing by the way.. so incredible!

  8. Thanks for the link to your travel tips. I loved reading it. So helpful. We are definitely going to go rent an apartment instead of hotel. Do you have any tips for Portugal or Spain ?!!

    1. Of course!! Glad it was helpful 🙂 And we have never been to Portugal, but I did go to Barcelona, Spain for a couple days. I would recommend going to the La Rambla market, Park Guell and La Sagrada Familia. I stayed in an Airbnb across the street from La Sagrada Familia and it was great!

    1. Thank you so much Kelly!! And I know it! It was so dreamy!!

    1. Thank you!! It was a dream there 🙂 And I know it! We really should! Hopefully soon in the future!

  9. Hey love the picture. How did you travel with Rosie ? I’m traveling internationally with our baby. Was it easier to wear her everywhere or use a stroller ? Advice appreciated. Thanks

  10. Wow! What a great experience. I can’t even imagine living in a house with tulips in my yard like that! I love your star sweater!

I have a quick question: I just had my first son a week and a half ago and am getting started with this whole nursing thing- wearing tops/dresses I can nurse in, and of course, nursing bras!! I know you have mentioned that you nursed Atticus and Rosie, do you have suggestions for your favorite nursing bra(s)?
    Much love, oxox

    1. Aww thank you so much!! That is so incredibly sweet of you!! Thanks for making my day with the kind words!! And my favorite nursing bra is the Cake’s “Cotton Candy” nursing bra from Nordstrom!! I love them! I am going to link my “mom favorites” blog post below, it may be helpful!! xo

You are the queen of awesome hair, and I would love to know our bedtime hair secrets. PS I think you will get a lot of views on this idea because everyone loves your hair:)

    1. That is a great idea!! Thanks Sharon 🙂 I usually sleep in a braid or topknot but a tutorial would be good!! xo

    1. It was so amazing!! We loved it! Once in a lifetime for sure 🙂 And thank you!! I love that shot of them too!

  31. I LOVED this post. Your pictures are always beautiful, but these were extra. I especially loved the one of little Rosie looking at the camera while keeping warm inside David’s jacket. The way he’s looking at her is so sweet. Framer! Very special daddy’s girl picture. 🙂 Gosh this trip looks so dreamy.

    1. Thank you so much Erin!! I love hearing that you liked it 🙂 And I agree! I definitely need to print that one out!

  32. All your travels look like so much fun. My sister is actually in Europe for the first time with her husband and they go robbed. They hadn’t even been there but a few days. I feel so badly for them it put a huge damper no the whole trip. Have you guys ever had anything like that happen to you? And do you guys ever feel unsafe? Do you do a lot of reserch to all the places you go, and how do you guys go about planing your trips?

    1. Oh no!! I am so sorry to hear that 🙁 That is terrible!! We have definitely had our fair share of bad travel stories, and I think it just comes with traveling abroad. But I do think the more you travel, the more experience and expertise you gain and it helps us know what type of things to look out for and such. We do a lot of research online and gather information but it is hard to know everything before you actually arrive and get a feel for the environment and culture. I hope they have a better rest of their trip!!

  33. By Far the most amazing post…..Love when i see you walking in the tulip fields with the breeze, it’s something out of a dream, and Rosie getting big enough for david to do that picture on his hands and her wrapped in his jacket with her beautiful smile, it’s the most precious thing ever. Thank you for letting us dream for a bit….so magical. Lots of love, Tiffany

    1. Wow thank you so much!! SO glad you liked it!! Thanks for reading!! xo
