We are finally posting Russia photos and I have so much to say about Moscow I don’t even know where to begin! But first just want to say that we have never received such a warm welcome in a country from readers than we did in Russia! It was incredible reading some of the messages and welcomes we received and it felt so nice! So thank you! We got off to an extremely rough start. As soon as we landed we noticed there were ZERO signs in english and no signs what so ever for the rental car section so we walked around for a very long time trying to find it, asking several people. Finally someone told us that it was in a different terminal so we asked someone else how to get there. They said you have to take a cab.. we thought that was weird but loaded up in a cab anyways. When we got in we luckily asked how much it would be and he said $65!!! Which is outrageous considering we knew it was only a 5 or 10 minute drive. We refused to pay that much so we unloaded everything, loaded it all back on the luggage carts and started walking. We walked the wrong way three times (please just picture us with two fully loaded luggage carts, two babies, two car seats, a camera bag, a diaper bag, and a stroller.. okay thanks) so then we see the terminal we need to go to and there are 3 staircases we have to go down! So we unload everything, take it all down in multiple trips, and load it all back on. When we get to the terminal we have to go through an intense security screening (take your shoes off, take out the laptops, type of ordeal which as you can imagine with all of our stuff and two babies is NO easy task). We finally get through security and load everything back on the carts when we can almost TASTE the rental car area we run into yet ANOTHER security screening we have to go through in order to go any further (why this is necessary, I have zero idea!) at this point I am seriously livid. Then we get to the rental car place and it takes about 30 minutes for paperwork then about a 15 minute walk to the parking garage. We try to put all of our stuff in the car only to realize all of our stuff WONT FIT!!! We take it all out and load it all back up and walk back to the terminal entrance and catch a cab. When we arrived our cab drivers tried charging us double what was on the meter and it always scares me when people do that in foreign countries but David wouldn’t take that and just paid them what the meter said and that was done. FEW!!! Okay then we are at the St. Regis which was absolutely amazing and made everything feel better ha! But needless to say I was really stressed, that taught us multiple lessons for future travels.

Our first day we went exploring and it was so exciting seeing so many spots I had been dreaming of seeing for sooo long. On our way home we ran into this massive, 5 story, kid mall. It had toy stores, puppet shows, little cars you can ride around in, everything. I knew Atticus would be in love so we took him and he could not get enough of riding those mini cars, he felt SO cool!!! We ran around the toy store playing with all the toys for hours. Well that night he woke up crying with a high fever which I think he got from that kid mall. His fever kept climbing and climbing all the way up to 104. Fevers are so scary because they feel so hot and they are so miserable that you start to have really scary thoughts as a mom. And being in a foreign country made everything scarier. Once it reached 1o4 we knew we had to take him to a hospital or have a doctor come see him and luckily the hotel had on call doctors that spoke English. A doctor came at 2 in the morning and tested him for the flu which he was positive for. He gave us antibiotics and instructions for getting him better but it was a rough time for Atticus. His throat was hurting so bad so he would cry because it was hurting which would make it hurt more, and then make him cry more. It was heart breaking to see him so miserable. I felt so guilty for taking him to that dumb mall. After I said Atticus was sick on my instagram we had so many local girls telling us that lots of people get sick because of the air quality and the doctor said the flu was going around. Something I took mental note of… *always research those types of things before going somewhere! I felt so bad for my sweet boy. Luckily the last day he was feeling good enough to go outside for an hour but we tried to keep him in the stroller so he could just relax. David and I basically got zero sleep that entire 6 days in Russia. It was a complete miracle that Rosie didn’t get sick and also that she (mostly) slept through the non stop crying and moaning at night. She is SUCH a light sleeper but for that week she was the hardest sleeper which I am convinced was an answer to my prayers. Atticus did a lot of sleeping during the day so when he would sleep, our niece Izzie would watch him while me and David would run out and try to explore for an hour or so.

The St. Regis we stayed at was right by the Red Square so it was really convenient popping in and out throughout the day. I also got to get a facial which was amazzzing. Their spa is so nice and their pool area had a steam room and a sauna so that helped with the stress of Atticus being sick – I loved going in the steam room for a few minutes at night before bed. Our room was so nice and had multiple rooms within it. It had a room for our niece to sleep in which was connected to ours and had the BIGGEST bed ever! And then it had a gorgeous sitting area/tv room, and then the master room and 3 bathrooms. Oh and a huge closet. BUT the best part about St. Regis is that any person who stays there gets a personal butler, regardless of the room you book. The butler will unpack your things (a luxury I highly recommend), and also pack for you (also SO nice), they will go get something for you at the store (we needed wipes and diapers when we arrived so they ran and got them for us late at night when we didn’t want to go!), they can do anything you need them to do. Its a really nice thing to have when traveling with kids because its a pain to have to run and grab something when the kids are asleep. They also give you their phone number so if you have any questions about the hotel you can text them. So we would text them whenever we needed more milk brought up or new water bottles.

But overall Moscow was INCREDIBLE and everything was just as amazing as I thought it would be. I already can’t wait to go back and explore more one day! And hopefully next time we will make it to St. Petersburg as well!!

We made a Europe video of our time in Ireland and Amsterdam – we didn’t manage to get any video in Moscow but thought we would share some of our footage! xo

  1. Oh my gosh that jacket! Love your fashion. I can’t stop reading your blog posts! I should be writing my essay ha!

  2. Gorgeous pics! Love your lip colors, do you remember what they are?

  3. These pics are amazing! Love the outfits you chose for your trip!! Just watched an interesting documentary on fashion in Russia. So crazy!!! Always lovin’ on your posts Amber!!! Hoping to run into you one of these days on one of my shoots so you can give me some pointers!! 🙂

  4. Wow what a crazy trip!! I can only imagine how sweaty I would be from all that stress in the beginning ????! You are a super mom!!! Do you usually travel with people to help with the kids or is it typically just you and your hubs? All of the photos were AMAZING!!! Seems like a trip of a lifetime for sure!!!

  5. GUYS! My family is way into traveling and you NEED to go to Switzerland. I’ve travelled all around Europe, and nothing beats the scenery in Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken!!! It’s breathtaking and if you get the chance, go on a paraflying and it just reminds you of Heavenly Father’s talent!

  6. This post is literally adorable!!! I love the videos of you and David together because you two are so cute and funny. I especially loved seeing everything a little behind the scenes and you being so real with your viewers! It’s easy for me to think of your life as perfect (with spotless white pants lol) but it’s so nice to see you have travel problems and stains and messes like everyone else. You are a huge inspiration for me for just how to act as a person so thanks so much for this post 🙂

  7. These photos are amazing! And I’m so so sorry for all the airport trouble you had and little A getting sick, it breaks my heart 🙁
I am really glad you had a nice time at least lol I’d love to visit Russia someday!! ♥

    http://www.pamelayaquelin.blogspot.com

    1. Thank you so much!! And I know it 🙁 Regardless of all trouble, we had an amazing time and got home safely, so that’s all I can ask 🙂 Thanks for the comment!! xo

  8. I think Russians fells the same way when they landed in USA, haha. So upset that you had a lot of stress. It had been amazing to know that you was being in Russia.
You can find a lot of interest things in Russia, so hope to see you in our country soon 🙂

    1. I totally agree!! Airports can be so confusing for anyone going anywhere. It was a little crazy to say the least haha but we had an amazing time overall 🙂

  9. Amber, you should put St.Petersburg into your list. It is much more interesting than Moscow. And not so stressful, I believe. )) Easter in Russia according to the Orthodox calendar comes usually later than in USA or Europe. This year it was on the 1st of May and we celebrated two holidays at the same time-Easter and Labour day.
As for the bottle…)) in the 18-19th centuries there were military people called hussars. And they had a tradition to open a bottle of champagne in such a way. It was considered to be an honour to be a hussar.

    1. That is good to know!! I am sure we will be back in the area sometime in the future 🙂 Thanks for the tip and sharing about the bottle, that is so interesting!!

  10. Poor Atticus! glad he got better though and you could enjoy the rest of your trip! Beautiful photographs as always! xx

  11. Oh Amber!
It usually costs $65 to go to my home from any of Moscow airports.
And my home is about 150 miles away from them.
So sorry for this dirty taxi driver.

    1. Wow yeah we knew that couldn’t be right haha! Thanks for the sweet comment, luckily, David took care of it and we got on our way 🙂

  12. Such gorgeous photography like always! <3 I love how on the first one there is a guy wearing a Russia shirt:P How are you guys doing? I am sure you must be super busy during summer.
    Love,

  13. Your videos are so beautiful and such a great keepsake for your children!!

  14. Sheremetyevo airport is very special :))) it’s difficult even to go from one terminal to another, cause they are not connected by train… There’re busses, but I couldn’t understand which are the regular route busses and airport busses, it’s difficult to find their bus stop and it turns out that to walk – is the easiest way :)))) Moscow is a huge city and very often people know only way from home to work and back, when you ask how to get somewhere – nobody knows. A lot of things are not logical there, even though I’m Russian. Can’t imagine how it’s for a foreghner… :)))

    1. It is good to hear that the airport is confusing even for locals because we had NO idea where we were going haha! Thanks for the comment 🙂

  15. Yessss! I’m so glad you made it to Murphy’s in Dingle. My favorite is the sea salt flavor!

  16. I am so happy that you like it! When I was reading situation with car I was thinking why I wasn’t with you, because I would help you(( so I hope that you will come again and visit anther places in Moscow and will visit St.Petersburg. Write me if you will come again, I will help you with everything:)

  17. Aww poor Atticus. You must have been so stressed with him not being well. Your pictures are absolutely beautiful though. Russia has been on my bucket list for the longest time so fingers crossed I make it there soon.

    Love from South Africa

    1. Thanks so much Leanne! It was so gorgeous there!! And yes, it was so hard with him being sick 🙁

  18. That sounds like SUCH an adventure!! Poor Atticus, that’s such bummer he got sick! At least he had a stunning room to stay “home” in!! All of the St. Regis hotels are so beautiful and grand!! I hope that all is going super well for you guys!

    Much love, Angela

    1. Thank you so much Angela!! We had such a great trip minus Atticus being sick 🙁 it’s always good to get after a long trip! Thanks for the comment!! xo

  19. ahemmmmm is that a baby bump i see???
hooray for number three i hope!

      1. Your body is perf, especially after just having your 2nd babe 6 months ago!

          1. I wish I looked this good and I didn’t even have one kid 😀 🙂

  20. Amazing how you managed to travel with two kids. Hope you will come to London one day!

    1. Thanks Ivy!! It’s so fun having them with us on trips 🙂 And we would love to come back to London!!

  21. Amber I just wanted to tell you, that the flu is an infection caused by a virus so antibiotics which are against infections caused by bacteria should not be the type of medication for that! Glad Atticus is feeling so much better now 🙂

    1. I was going to say the same thing. Why would the doc prescribe an antibiotic for a virus? Probably because he didn’t want to feel powerless by just saying the truth about the flu: All you can do is wait it out and seek treatment to support your body while you fight it if needed.

  22. I Loved watching your video & looking at your pictures:) That is so special you have all those to look back on!! There is nothing worse than being sick when your away from home poor little guy!!! I would ABSOLUTELY Love the whole butler thing????
    ~Dareon✨

    1. Thank you so much Mary!! And how fun! Have a great trip in Michigan!! 🙂

  23. I wish I thought $288 for a skirt was a major sale 🙁 lol I LOVE these outfits, I just wish they were more budget friendly.
But thank you for sharing this! You look stunning as always 🙂

    1. Thanks so much Emma!! Glad you like the looks 🙂 And I appreciate the feedback!

    1. Thank you Jenessa!! It was such a great trip! Thanks for reading!! xo

  25. St. Regis looks so beautiful! Too bad, it doesn’ t have a driver service… my husband and I want to visit Moscow this autumn, but everybody recommend us to check a hotel with driver service, because of the difficult transportation in moscow…. love your family pictures!

    1. If you are talking about transportation to/from the airport to/from the hotel then they do offer that service.

    2. It was amazing!! Glad you got to see the beauty of Moscow too! And they do have a transportation service actually.

  26. Hi Amber! I saw on your snapchat that you were finding SUCH cheap flights to italy… I am planning a trip for me and my boyfriend in August and was wondering what website you were using to look at flights?! xoxoxo

    1. Hi Rachel!! I was looking on Skyscanner.com 🙂 You can set price alerts and it shows which airline has the best price. Good luck planning!! xo

  27. Could you do a future blog post on the natural “thickness” of your hair? Just wondering if your hairs as thin as mine/if my hair’s even thick enough to hide extensions.
Love your content as always! 🙂

    1. That is a good idea!! In the meantime, my hair is pretty thin actually, but it is long. I use hair extensions for thickness and my hair hides them just fine!

  28. It sounds like you had such great accommodations! I love that you had the ability to text your butler with questions or needs…Especially with Atticus being sick. The pics are stunning as well! And the airport story…OMG haha I feel like a lot of us can relate to that!

    xo

    1. Yes! It was great. We felt so comfortable! And thank you!! So glad you like the post! 🙂

  29. Wow! What an ordeal! Thanks for sharing the bad along with the good. It looks like you were still able to enjoy Moscow a bit even though Atticus was sick.

    1. I know it!! Not all our traveling is luxurious 😉 but we still had a great time!! Thanks for reading Amy!!

  30. The vlog is so cute and I loved that David had his drone to catch all flower fields. I loved all your outfits in this trip, always looking so pretty. Oh how cute is Rosie sleeping either in the carry-on or on the bed! Thank you for sharing your trip and all the little details of it.

    1. Thank you so much!! I am so happy you liked it!! 🙂 And aww you are so sweet!

  31. Omg….if I ever go to Russia I def won’t bring the kids!!! Good to know. I’m sure you were more than ready to get home after Atticus got sick too. Poor guy. Love all your pictures though and I can’t wait to see where you guys go next!

    1. Yeah it definitely makes it a lot more difficult haha! And yes! It was so nice getting home after all of that. But it was still a great trip!! Thanks for reading!! 🙂

  32. OMG kids being sick is the worst! I dont know how you handled that so well! I would have been a mess.
Good you took some preatty pictures to remember that trip.

    1. I know it!!! I felt so bad 🙁 I am glad it wasn’t worse!

  33. These are amazing pictures! The start of the trip does sound really stressful indeed, oh no! 🙁 xxx

    1. Thank you so much!! It was a great trip minus the airport fiasco haha

    1. Thank you so much for reading!! I am glad you liked the post 🙂

    1. It was one of the coolest hotels I have been to for sure!! We loved it!

  34. Looks like you had such a great time!!! I would love to go one day!!! I’m coming to New york in a couple of weeks and would love to meet up with you!!!

    1. We did for sure!! It was such a fun trip! And how fun!! I would love that too! Hopefully we run into each other! 🙂

  35. The video is adorable! Your family always looks so joyful together! My daughter is only a month younger than Atticus and she loves watching him in videos. I understand if you want to keep a sense of privacy but I would love to see a day in the life VLOG. I admire your parenting style so much, when I see your videos and hear how patient and encouraging you are with your children I am reminded to slow down and enjoy the messes and fun. I am just so inspired by you and David, I would love to see how you go about a regular day with your family.

    1. Thank you Erin!! I am so glad you liked it 🙂 And aww really?! That is too cute!! And I love that suggestion actually, we will keep that in mind for upcoming videos! Also, thank you for the kind words!! That is so incredibly nice of you!! You made my day!

  36. Moscow looks so gorgeous and colorful! You and David are seriously superstars with the way you handled the airport drama and Atticus being sick for the entire trip – I would have been bawling and been miserable!

  38. FAMILY GOALS! love everything I see here!!!
Was just wondering if you’re still wearing extensions in these photos?

    1. Oh my goodness you are too sweet!! Thank you Alana!! And yes I was wearing them 🙂

  39. Poor Atticus! Anyway, as Russian, I’m very happy that you enjoyed Moscow and really hope you’ll visit it again one day!
By the way, St. Petersburg is just sooooo beautiful city ( I live there :D) it’s definitely worth seeing, trust me 🙂

  40. Amber,
I loved this post! Longer posts are always more fun to read. Also, you should definitely not feel guilty about taking Atticus to that mall! It usually takes a few days to contract the flu after exposure so I doubt he got it from there. You’re a great mom so stop doubting yourself. xoxo,
    Sandra De Brito

    1. Thank you Sandra!! I am so happy you liked it 🙂 And okay thanks for the reassurance, that is good to hear! xo

  41. Beeeee UT I FUL!

one of the things I love is the fact that you don’t like to wear high heels and chose to wear flats or wedges. As a mom, I love that about you! Also, did ya’ll go inside the cathedral or attend a mass?

PS – so glad little man is feeling better!!

    1. Thank you so much Kacie!! You are the nicest!! And aww thanks! I am totally a flats girl now haha! And we didn’t get to attend mass, wish we could have!

  42. Aww, poor Atticus! I am glad he is doing better now <3 And you absolutely aren't a bad mom for letting him into the playground! I bet he had a ton of fun and it's hard to be sure that's exactly what got him sick!

    1. Thank you so much!! It was so nice getting home after a long trip! Atticus was feeling much better soon after that yay 🙂

  43. All I have to say is, WOW! The photos in this post are absolutely stunning. You all are always traveling to the coolest places – and this is no exception – but this particular trip looks so incredible. Hope you all are having fun! 🙂 xoxo

  44. Ohh so beautyful pictures ????Today I saw your vlog and it was so nice, funny and sweet☺ Atticus and Rosie were so adorable???? The picnic part was my favourite It was so beautyful???????? I hope I can see more videos from you ???? Lots of love from Hungary ????????????????

  45. Beautiful pictures! And that video warmed my heart and had me smiling from ear to ear. But poor Atticus, that just sounds miserable, and I can’t imagine watching your little one going through that, especially in a foreign country. Thank goodness for the hotel doctor. The St. Regis sounds amazing. Another thing for my someday list!! xoxo

    1. Just watched that video again, and the part where you recount your soft balll miseries just had me cracking up. I was the exact same way, only with volleyball. Two full seasons and I never once got a serve over the net. I dreaded it! haha! Also, I just love how vocal Atticus is around all those animals – too cute!!

  46. Moscow looks absolutely amazing!! Bummer, that Atticus was sick though, poor baby! I enjoyed looking through all these beautiful pictures! Love your outfits too <3

  48. Amber, your time in Russia sounds like such a wild ride! I am so happy things worked out for the better 🙂 I am so sorry your baby was sick – it is THE worst to have a fever while traveling. All you want is your bed and you’re so far! I’m so glad everyone is feeling better and that you all managed to have an awesome time!

    xx http://www.qustomquinns.com/blog

  49. I absolutely loved your video it made me laugh so much – Atticus being poorly sounds heartbreaking 🙁 It must’ve been really hard for you both, but so glad he got better for the final day!

The taxi/luggage sounded like an absolute nightmare, I think I would have just sat in a heap on the floor and cried, I’m sure you handled it much better 🙂

I can’t wait for your next video – I love following along!

The trip was still great, but obviously a lot harder. I am glad that Atticus got feeling better towards the end though. 🙂 The hotel you stayed in looked absolutely incredible!

  52. Amber, These pictures are amazing! I always love seeing what Atticus is up to (my little one is just a week older than him:) and your little Rosie couldn’t be any cuter. Thanks for sharing:)

  53. Such a cute video, and lovely trip! I’ve read a lot of fashion blogs, but what sets you guys apart from others is that you are ‘real’; you don’t just post pristine/perfect photos (though your photos are definitely awesome), but you have so many real life moments in your posts, and that’s what makes it so very enjoyable/relatable to read. It is so much more enjoyable to come back and visit because of that…thanks for being awesome 🙂

  54. I love the compilation of street style, family and travel. You are so right, that picture of Rosie is adorable!! What a cute smile.
