Barefoot Blonde^^DRESS: Diane von Furstenberg Barefoot Blonde^^We had an appointment for Chaucney to get groomed and then of course I totally spaced it with my pregnancy brain and so we gave him a little at home salon treatment 😉 Barefoot Blonde^^Me and a couple girlfriends took our preggo bellies to the Plaza and had a tea party

dress: Lovely BrideBarefoot Blonde^^This scene makes my heart so happy.Barefoot Blonde^^The night before I left Atticus for the first time overnight 🙁 that was a ROUGH night. And he sure loves that snow globe of his 🙂Barefoot Blonde^^These besties… oh man they are a riot.Barefoot Blonde^^I love his smile sooooo so so so so much. He has four more teeth coming in and will have a full smile shortly – it makes him look so grown up!Barefoot Blonde^^The subway is always interesting – every day there are new people and Atticus is in a new mood but most of the time he just wants to chat with everyone and loves looking out the windows and he especially loves when people play with him (I do too, gosh those types of people are so great). And then there was today where he threw his first ever temper tantrum and it happened to be on the subway. It was full on – I am talking back arched, screaming crying… it was stressful. I didn’t know what to do and nothing was making him happy! It was a nice welcome to toddler world 🙂Barefoot Blonde^^Every night when we go to the park Atticus finds all the sticks and gives them to Chauncey to play with. His reaction when Chauncey grabs them is always so priceless.Barefoot Blonde^^Atticus can now crawl in the tub on his own (however that is our shower in our second bathroom in the photo, this is just a side note ha), turn on the water, and turn on the shower if he is feeling crazy 😉 oh and he can also unplug the drain. Bath time is now a circus and there is a very large “splash zone” haha. He is hilarious.Barefoot Blonde^^He thinks being on our bed is “naughty” for some reason so he always goes into the room, shuts the door, and crawls on the bed and waits for us to come in.. when we do he EXPLODES laughing with a “oh shoot you caught me” type of laugh. It is probably my favorite thing ever and it never gets old to him, us “catching” him on our bed haha. Anytime he is sad I always resort to throwing him on the bed in a sea of pillows and he has a ball.Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde^^A random snap from on our way to church.

DRESS: Free People (50% off)Barefoot Blonde^^Now that Atticus is getting better at listening we let him walk a lot when we go places but it always takes three times as long… not because he is a slow walker (oh that boy runs everywhere) but because he HAS to pet every dog! (we always ask the owner first) and Atticus is getting so good at “being soft” with dogs. It really is so sweet how much he loves animals.Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde^^DRESS: BCBG Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot Blonde^^Normally I am a scaredy cat and hate walking over these things but Atticus finds them completely fascinating so I have gotten over that and we now walk over every single one.

We have had a very low key week and I have been kind of taking a lil break (break for me, at least) from Instagram and taking photos. We went to the zoo, me and A had lots of dates together to yummy food places, LOTS of playgrounds, and just playing at home. We were at a park with a basketball court recently and Atticus absolutely loved it. The boys were giving him the ball to play with and were having fun with him, it was so cute. But he started to jump with the ball trying to mimic the boys making baskets and it was so fun to watch! So we got him a little basketball hoop and he has been slam dunking it non stop.

I have also been totally slacking on posting hair tutorials and hair how to’s! Honestly it gets so hard with finding time to do it at home when Atticus is asleep because during his naps I find myself paying bills or cleaning or doing normal life stuff. SO I rented a studio for the day tomorrow and am going to let David and A have a lil boys day while I go film some tutorials and how tos and what not! So for those who have been asking, I have some coming and I am going to try and do the whole studio thing more often so that I can make it happen with no excuses.

XO

    1. Thank you so much Elise!! You are too kind! That means a lot to me 🙂 I am so glad you’re following along!! xo

  31. Your son is a beautiful boy and what I’m about to suggest has nothing to do with his sweet self: PLEASE teach him not to climb/tug/ride on your gorgeous dog. He may seem to not mind, until the day your little guy accidentally hits a sore spot or he loses his patience and snaps. Working with dogs, I’ve seen it happen again and again. Again, not your child’s fault–you need to teach children this. Also, many impressionable people who follow you may think they can do this with their dog and child and that animal might not be as well mannered as yours. Please consider what I’m saying. Teaching kindness and respect towards family pets would save thousands of dogs from shelters every year, not to mention bites and scars on vulnerable little bodies.
    Respectfully,
    Katie

    1. Thanks Laura!! I love how David captured those real moments 🙂 And yes! It has been so busy but I am excited for the downtime until baby girl comes!! 🙂 Have a great weekend!! xo

  37. This post was perfect and refreshing! Everyone needs a break, to recharge and get motivated again….you feed your blog constantly and i think it’s nice and healthy that you took a step back. I read this article on Taylor Swift yesterday (from her GQ cover) about having self awareness and that contributes to peoples success and longevity, it was an interesting read. You writing this post made me think of that. Anyhow……Beautiful as always sweets. xoxo

    1. Thank you so much Tiffany!! I appreciate that!! And no way?! I will have to go and read that article! I love her 🙂 Thanks for the kind words!! xoxo

  40. I love your positive attitude! It’s always so nice to take a mini break from anything to get refreshed! Can’t wait for the hair tutorials… I have been practicing braiding on my 7 year old’s hair and it’s a great way for us to bond! http://settledvagabond.com

    1. Thank you so much Jenny!! I am so glad you agree 🙂 And how cute! Lucky daughter you have! I will have one up soon!! xo

  41. As always I adore these photos..so much real life and priceless moments 🙂 I think being prego and having a toddler would be a perfect reason to take a pause in hair/how to tutorials. 😀 However if you’re going to make some new ones, is there any chance you could mention a fun way to braid a section of hair for us gals with shorter hair? I have shoulder length and end up just grabbing a chunk of the side and doing a plain jane braid and pinning it. (not too exciting) so maybe an amazing “amber” braid tutorial would be perrrfecct and fun! Only if you have the time of course..:D I know you’re a super busy momma. Thank you for always taking time to be such an amazing ad inspirational blogger!!!

    1. Thank you so much!! I am so glad you liked the post 🙂 And yes! I am so looking forward to that quiet alone time haha 😉 And that’s a great suggestion, thanks!! I will definitely keep it in mind when filming upcoming tutorials!! xo

  48. I just wanted to know if you knew Hayden Pattieniere was trying to recreate your braids?

Also, you are so fiercely gorgeous. I used to have a really hard time looking at your blog because one days’ outfit for you is worth double mine and my husband’s rent. Plus, we have had a really hard time getting pregnant and you seem to be fertile myrtle! But, then I realized at how sweet your posts were and how genuinely happy you were. AND THE PROBLEM WAS ME. I’ve been working on empowering women through celebrating their successes, even if I’m not where I want to be yet. So, congratulations on the life you are building! You’re not posting these pictures to flaunt and make others’ jealous. This is just how you express yourself and provide for your family.

I am happy that I can look at the darling pictures of Atticus to subside my baby hunger and dream of days outside of medical school where I can maybe buy a nice outfit!

Keep blogging! And keep being such a positive person.

    Love,
    Kylie

    1. Kylie I love how raw your words were here. To be honest I used to be so jealous of Amber myself, but just like you I couldn’t stop looking at her blog and felt so happy for her happiness. 2. Hi Kylie!! Yes, I saw her tweets and I totally fangirled, I LOVE her 🙂

And wow thank you so much for sharing that with me. I never want anyone to feel jealous or think less of their own lives because of my posts 🙁 That took a lot of courage for you to share that with me, so thank you!! I try to share all parts of my life but part of my job is showcasing the happy/positive moments but believe me when I say no one’s life is perfect, especially mine! Love you!! And thank you for the support on my blog, it means the world to me! Good luck with medical school, you are a rock star!

      xoxo, Amber

    1. Thanks so much!! And your blog looks great!! I may have to try that lip scrub 😉 Looks amazing! Keep it up!! xo
