JUMPSUIT: Tularosa / SANDALS: Steve Madden (really old; similar here) / BAG: Sole Society / EARRINGS: Capwell + Co. c/o / SUNGLASSES: Sonix

The other week when I went to get my hair done I missed my turn and it ended up being the best missed turn ever! When I went around the corner to flip around I saw wall mural heaven. It was like on every corner there was a vibrant, amazing mural! I drove around noting where they all were because they make the best backdrops. I also got to watch a girl as she spray painted a mural and I sat there in awe – it was sooo cool!!! So talented. I can barely spray paint a candlestick gold without streaks haha!

We were down South this week since the flooding on North Shore where we are living was insane. We were at the Hilton and swam and went to a luau. I wore this the next day for some sunshine in Waikiki. I am sure you have heard of the brand Tularosa – but if not, they have really cute pieces! I also discovered Sonix sunglasses recently when I was looking for some retro looking sunnies for a Barefoot Blonde Hair shoot I am coordinating. I really love their sunglasses and they feel quality (I also loved the packaging they came in!) but its nice because they are an in between price range (around $80-$100).

Now we are back home and kids are in bed! We got some shave ice to reward the kids for doing SO good at their swim lessons! I really am so proud of them. It is really fun to see what fast learners kids are. And also how much comes so natural to them. I know this may sound silly but we did a lei making class and Atticus knew exactly how to use the needle and how to put it through the flower – I mean it is a simple thing but I was impressed that he just grabbed the needle and seemed so mature doing it. He is also so helpful lately. If I spill something he runs to grab a towel to wipe it up. Or if I drop the lid to the milk or whatever it is he is so excited to come and pick it up without being asked. Those little things are so sweet. And Rosie was so funny tonight – she kept getting brain freezes and would do this shocked face and when it was over she would giggle with this silly face.

PS! I know a lot of you have asked about my nail color! I didn’t pay attention when I got them done in Honolulu but next time I go back I will see what color and brand it was! Seriously people comment on it daily. “is that glow in the dark?!” “what kind of green is that?” “i didn’t know that color existed!” haha but I lovvvve bright colors 🙂

Also last thing! I saw this group of three old women (maybe in their late 60’s?) on a girls trip when we were on the big island. It was the cutest thing. They were so fit and seemed so fun and agile. It made me think how I definitely want to be healthy and fit when I am old so I can go have fun like they were! Anyways – me and David were thinking we may do a little plant based cleanse for a month and see how we feel. I have never been great at eating healthy and want to start treating my body good from the inside out. So, we are going to start that tomorrow and I am NERVOUS! Lets see how it goes.

  1. Can you tell me more about the plant based cleanse you are doing? It is juices, raw vegetables….. I recently had a miscarriage at 16 weeks pregnant and I’m looking for something to help me nurture from the inside out while jump starting my weight loss. I want to lose the pregnancy weight as soon as i possibly can because its all just a reminder of the loss we’ve suffered. Please provide more info if you can!

  2. Amber I dont know if you have already talked about that but I would love to know what did David do to have his hair so great now???…. I have the same problem here and would love to have some help, thanks a lot

    1. Look up “The Clarks My Experience with Hair Restoration Surgery + Twitter Q&A” on YouTube. He did a whole video about it 🙂

  3. This post is so dang beautiful!!! Love that mural so much, and you look gorgeous as per usual 🙂 As soon as I went plant based I had soon much more energy!! Which says a lot because my twins are 5 months old and hate sleep, so I need any extra energy I can get! 😉 I hope you enjoy your cleanse! You’ll have to let us know how it goes!

  6. I am so obsessed with this jumpsuit, Amber! And you’re so totally right…the backdrop is amazing! It reminds me of a lot of the backdrops that they have in Austin, Texas. I’m not sure if you all have ever visited there, but I think that your llittle family, the four of you, would absolutely love how artsy, adventurous, and fun it is there! I also really think that those adorable black earrings just fit the jumpsuit perfectly! Girl, I have been following your blog now since either right before you met David at the gym or right after, and you guys had just started dating. To see everything that has happened in your life since then…all of the blessings and even some of the trials and tribulations that you have shared with us subscribers and viewers has been really amazing to follow over the years! Marriage (that, by the way, were some of the most beautiful wedding pictures I think I have ever seen,) moving to different locations to live, and raising two kids/starting an amazing little family has been really awesome for me to follow along with you all! You seem like just such a sweet and fun-loving person, that I know we would become friends if we met up in “real life.” If only we lived in the same state. I’m SO jealous that you’re all in Hawaii, especially because I’ve never had the pleasure of getting to visit there yet, however I do live in Florida, so I get sunshine most of the year. Still, I know Hawaii is much more beautiful! One day I’ll finally get to visit! Anyway, I just wanted to comment, since I haven’t actually done so in years…just to let you know that I still love your blog better than any of the other ones I’ve ever also fallen in love with! Thank you for continuing to take all of us viewers on the many adventures that the Clark family embarks on! It’s so fun to get to read about it and live vicariously through you all! Xo 😘 Brani Laine

  7. You are so beautiful and your life is so inspiring! Thank you for blogging and letting us be part of your life! Lots of love! ❤

  8. I think it will be awesome! When I was a vegetarian (only for a year) ha… it made me so creative! I made all my favorite dishes but vegetarian and ate more vegetables than ever before. I think that’s when I was at my healthiest 🙂
    good luck ❤️

    1. I know, right?! I went vegan for close to a year and I honestly felt so good. I am honestly going to do a slow transition back to a vegan diet for good because although I LOOOOVE the taste of meat (not so much dairy)… there is no denying how great I felt.
Pretty obvious but – I’d really really take note of the calorie intake. I think it ended up not working for me cos I did a cold change to veganism and at some point had lost a LOT of weight, because I was too busy with grad school and professional exams to eat as much as I should have or to meal prep. And I started eating crap like Oreos to put on the pounds and rationalizing that they were vegan. I know it’ll be better off the second go around for me. Amber, you guys will do great with a little bit of planning and creativity. Cheers!

  9. Such a cute jumpsuit!!! I’m just curious what sort of bra you wore with that open back? I’m pretty busty so I can’t really go braless. Haha I wish!!

  10. Hey Amber! Do you have any suggestions for buying jumpsuits or rompers? I’m 5’11 and I have a really hard time finding one piece outfits long enough for me. I wish I could wear one so badly! Thank you!

  11. Ok I am in love with this jumpsuit. Literally in love! All the murals in the background of your posts are actually amazing, I totally wanna visit Hawaii just to see them!
Love imagining Rosie’s face with the shaved ice, and Atticus always helping, I hope my kids are like that 🙂
Good luck with the plant cleanse, I’m sure you’ll do great!

  12. Love these photos! You are adorable! This jumpsuit is so fun, and I love your nail color too. Looks great with a tan!

  13. I wish I could find some walls like that in my town! When I lived in Germany, I noticed a lot of elderly people in good shape. They ride bikes everywhere! I want to be like that as well.

  16. Josh (my husband) and I started eating plant-based in mid-December and I was nervous because Josh *loves* meat and dairy. But, almost 3 months later, we don’t miss it! The best way to handle it is to find some great recipes. We absolutely adore Niomi Smart’s “Eat Smart” Cookbook. We had to order it off of Amazon because it’s not in the US yet, but it is a *total* game-changer. Her recipes make it so you don’t even realize that there’s no dairy, meat, or egg! We’ve been feeling the healthiest we’ve been in years because of that switch to plant-based (minus a select few treats we’ll get once or twice a month).

  17. Your smile and overall beauty glows so much in these photos. I always look so forward to seeing what you are doing next. Looking on your blog is at my top of the list in the mornings just because your pictures and babies make me smile! Your so beautiful inside and out please disregard what the negative social media says. I hope to be the kind of mom you are to your kids. You are always having so much fun and always making sure they are sooo sooo happy.
XOXO Have a beautiful day! Daniella Rogers

  18. Love these photos! I love reading little life updates 🙂 I decide to try to eat more plant-abased and vegan for the month of March and I’ve already messed up haha! I guess it takes awhile to get in the swing of it! Good luck 🙂

  19. That background is amazing. I would really encourage you to stop dieting/dieting trends. Start loving yourself, that’s where the real heal will come. Your blog’s coverage means that you become a role model to young women, while in addition you are the female role model for your daughter – so I strongly encourage you to consider this!
