As I am writing this I am watching Bachelor in Paradise and rolling my eyes/laughing at all of the ridiculousness! Haha! Who else watches that as their guilty pleasure? Anyways, here are some photos from our last night in Nantucket! It was such a gorgeous night – can you see how full the moon is?! It was crazy beautiful!! This morning we took the quick 45 minute flight home and spent the day at home playing with the kiddos. I went to the gym while David stayed home with the kids for a bit and when I got done with my work out I was greeted with cute videos texts of the kids having fun and when I got home they were bathed, happy, the apartment was clean, and the kid’s dinner was made. And after the kids went to bed he had steaks and veggies made for us. Like WHAT THE. He is so good. He “does it all” so effortlessly – I don’t know how he does it. David stays so calm, cool, and collected with the kids and I get a little stressed when the apartment is messy, the kids are everywhere, and things need to be done. Just had to give him a shout out because… he is cool.

There are obviously days that are easier than others with kids. Some days end with me stressed and frustrated because I had my buttons pushed all day by a sneaky toddler 😉 but there are also days that are soooo goooood – and I like to remember those days because those are my happiest moments in life. Some things about being a mom I just want to engrave in my brain forever. I hope our kids look back on this blog and can see and read about and feel how much they are loved and how much fun we had with them so here are some of my highlights from today. I loved watching Atticus carry these mini suitcases all over today – he would pack them up and then carry all four from room to room. Watching him try to pick up all four and problem solve how to carry all at once was the cutest. I also loved watching him hide inside boxes when I was opening up packages earlier and seeing him clean up a drink I spilled on the kitchen floor. And my favorite of all was when I laid Atticus down to change him and put pj’s on and he was kicking his legs so hard – I told him he needs to relax while I was leaning over him looking at him. He grabbed my neck and pulled me in to give me the biggest hug and he held me there for what felt like minutes (probably only like 20 seconds though!) then he grabbed my face and kissed me over and over. UGH. Those moments make my heart grow a million sizes. And then there is Rosie – David and I look at one another multiple times a day and say to each other, “gosh she is sweet” that is the first word I use to describe her! I loved taking a mini snooze with her asleep on me in the plane, watching her face when Atticus does something funny, and her face when I laid her down on her bed to go to sleep and she saw her bunnies! She smiles sooo big and does this mini giggle as soon as we lay her down and she sees her stuffed animals – she LOVES stuffed animals so much!!!

Happy weekend everyone!!!!

  9. Your children are so adorable, they are so lucky to have you and David as their parents! Love your blog and your family pics.

  10. Love the shout out to your hubby! I feel the same way about mine…like how do they do that?! There are some days where I look around the house and see a mile long to do list, my daughter to feed etc etc but all I want to do is go to the park so I can continue to be “fun mom” haha. Love your honesty! http://abbywardphoto.weebly.com/

  18. Okay, these pictures are awesome, this vacation was awesome, your blog is awesome.
Despite of how awesome your blog is, I have to say a few words that have been bugging me ever since you talked about how people meanly criticize your parenting.
YOU AND DAVID ARE GREAT PARENTS. I wish you adopted me. You can’t. I checked. I’m a grown woman. Everyone can clearly see that both babies are well fed, they get playtime, they learn and learn about new things places cultures etc with all the family trips, they are always around either with you or David, and they always look so happy. As a babysitter of many many years, I can tell you as a fact that children of that age are almost never THAT happy all the time. Your kids look very happy in all the pictures and that must mean you guys are doing something right!
And yes, I understand these photos are not all the deal. I also understand that you have made mistakes in your parenting and that you will make mistakes and that’s okay. Everyone’s parents made mistakes. My mom thought she’d lost me one time when in reality she was holding me the whole time! At the moment my mom was really embarrassed and terrified when she realized I was in her arms, and now we laugh about it and it’s such a great memory!
Making memories with your kiddos while you stay at home is such a blessing. Just promise me you’ll tell me the secret on how to balance it all: being a successful mom, blogger, wife and human being.
So, what in trying to say, is keep on doing your thing boo. You’re doing a good job. Here’s an emoji medal just for you ?

  19. Those little moments you wrote about are absolutely the best. My fav is when I put my daughter down for bed and give her a good night hug and she refuses to let go, I know it is because she doesn’t want me to leave, but it still melts me heart to feel those little hands clinging around my neck!

The pics are beautiful and I am always curious, what camera do you guys use to take the selfies?? Looks like such a fab mini vacay for you guys.

  21. Aw, that is so so so fun!! I am feeling a little nervous with being so close to having our little baby, that it’s all going to go too fast and I just want to freeze time, but I guess it only gets better and better! So happy to hear that the whole family is doing so great! Nantucket looked amazing!

  24. You look amazing! How did you go about losing the baby weight after having Rosie? What is your diet like?

  25. It’s so frustrating that you actually have to disclaim that you were not pushing your children in the shopping cart because know-it-all trolls would have something negative and pedantic to say about it. You’re a wonderful mom so keep doing your thing. Haters gonna hate.

  26. Your posts always make me so happy!! I love the amount of photos you share and the smiles within the photos are so genuine and precious! Your family is just beautiful 🙂
Oh, and yes I also watch Bachelor in Paradise and howl with laughter… it is just so crazy!! haha

  38. Hi Amber!
This blog post is so special! Hope your kids read this in the future, you and David are such great parents. Totally random, but how old were you when you started your blog?

  39. Omg, I think im in love with Rosie’s expression. Every single photo looks like “i am the coolest one of my family” o_O

  40. Hi Amber,
I just had to say that you inspire me in so many ways, but the main reason I look up to you would have to be how amazing of a mom you are. Your parenting style reminds me of my mom, and I dream about being as great of a mom as you two are- of course that will have to wait because I am only 16 ;). Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that. Oh, and David is a great example of how a man should treat his wife; him and my dad definitely taught me not to settle for anybody! Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to thank you for sharing so much of your life with us, and just being a great role model- especially as a mom <3

  41. Love the shoutout to David. You both do an amazing job with your kids. And I can’t wait until your kids look back at this too! And see how may Moms out there are obsessing over how cute your children are! I would love to see some relationship posts from you and David. For example, how you guys keep the fire alive even with kids!
