As I am writing this I am watching Bachelor in Paradise and rolling my eyes/laughing at all of the ridiculousness! Haha! Who else watches that as their guilty pleasure? Anyways, here are some photos from our last night in Nantucket! It was such a gorgeous night – can you see how full the moon is?! It was crazy beautiful!! This morning we took the quick 45 minute flight home and spent the day at home playing with the kiddos. I went to the gym while David stayed home with the kids for a bit and when I got done with my work out I was greeted with cute videos texts of the kids having fun and when I got home they were bathed, happy, the apartment was clean, and the kid’s dinner was made. And after the kids went to bed he had steaks and veggies made for us. Like WHAT THE. He is so good. He “does it all” so effortlessly – I don’t know how he does it. David stays so calm, cool, and collected with the kids and I get a little stressed when the apartment is messy, the kids are everywhere, and things need to be done. Just had to give him a shout out because… he is cool.
There are obviously days that are easier than others with kids. Some days end with me stressed and frustrated because I had my buttons pushed all day by a sneaky toddler 😉 but there are also days that are soooo goooood – and I like to remember those days because those are my happiest moments in life. Some things about being a mom I just want to engrave in my brain forever. I hope our kids look back on this blog and can see and read about and feel how much they are loved and how much fun we had with them so here are some of my highlights from today. I loved watching Atticus carry these mini suitcases all over today – he would pack them up and then carry all four from room to room. Watching him try to pick up all four and problem solve how to carry all at once was the cutest. I also loved watching him hide inside boxes when I was opening up packages earlier and seeing him clean up a drink I spilled on the kitchen floor. And my favorite of all was when I laid Atticus down to change him and put pj’s on and he was kicking his legs so hard – I told him he needs to relax while I was leaning over him looking at him. He grabbed my neck and pulled me in to give me the biggest hug and he held me there for what felt like minutes (probably only like 20 seconds though!) then he grabbed my face and kissed me over and over. UGH. Those moments make my heart grow a million sizes. And then there is Rosie – David and I look at one another multiple times a day and say to each other, “gosh she is sweet” that is the first word I use to describe her! I loved taking a mini snooze with her asleep on me in the plane, watching her face when Atticus does something funny, and her face when I laid her down on her bed to go to sleep and she saw her bunnies! She smiles sooo big and does this mini giggle as soon as we lay her down and she sees her stuffed animals – she LOVES stuffed animals so much!!!
Happy weekend everyone!!!!
