Before David and I got engaged, I went to nanny in France for a summer. I remember feeling so incredibly homesick and missing him so much. Now when we travel – no matter where we go and for how long – it always feels like home because we are together and have our babies with us! It takes effort to make traveling feel like home though. When we had Atticus, we told ourselves we didn’t want having children to slow us down. To do that, we decided that we’d have to make certain commitments and sacrifices in order to make travel as non-disruptive as possible. The biggest thing is we try our hardest to keep to our/the kids daily schedules. While traveling, we maintain Atticus’s nightly routine – ending the day with a song and family time. We keep the same nap times, and even travel with Atticus’s fitted sheet and Chauncey dog (his stuffed dog). He can’t sleep without him! We also bring some of his favorite toys, activity books sound machine and Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion to keep his (and baby Rosie’s) sensitive skin healthy and moisturized – all just to make life on the road seem just like life at home. No matter where in the world I am, taking care of my family is my first priority. For me, that’ what being a mom is all about

Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday. If you’re still looking for a special gift, I love the AVEENO® Baby Essential Daily Care Gift Set (pictured above). It has nourishing, soothing products for mom and baby!

To all the mamas out there, hope you have a happy mother’s day and great weekend!

*Thanks to Aveeno for sponsoring this post.

    1. Thanks so much Jess!! And I wish I did but we honestly just use baby wipes to clean up their little hands when we are out and about.

  7. Who takes these photos Amber? Or is it a tri-pod? They are absolutely stunning!

  13. YESSS!!! I love this! I feel like all my friends and acquaintances are either the super traditional (boring) families who have it all together but don’t travel or do anything out of the ordinary OR they are unemployed, partying too hard and acting like they’re still in college.

What you and your little family have is seriously optimal and definitely GOALS for me and my hubby. It totally makes sense that you stick to a routine though. My mom always told me “security is necessary for adventure!” and although it sounds like a paradox I couldn’t agree more. The Clark fam is proof of my mom’s philosophy!

Happy Mother’s Day to you and your sweet little ones!

    1. Haha totally!!! It is good to have a balance 😉 But I know that is easier said than done! Thank you for the sweet comment!! That is seriously so nice of you!! Your mom sounds like a smart lady!! xo

  14. Such beautiful photos! I love the one with you and your husband <3 I had a quick question. I had been using a photographer to take my photos for my blog but being a college student I can't afford it. Do you have any tips on what I can do to get good quality photos without the help of someone? Any equipments you would suggestion 🙂
    Love always,
    Thays

    1. I would suggest a tri-pod!! Do you have a camera? Or just your iPhone? I use a tri-pod for my blog.

    2. Thank you!! I love hearing that 🙂 And I agree with what Maggie said below, if you can, purchase a quality camera and take them yourself! We personally use a canon 5d mark iii. We use a tripod a lot of the time too when we David and I are both in the photos. Or have a friend of family member snap them of you. xo

  26. Love this! We are in Portofino on vacation with our 1 year old at the moment. We try and stick to the same routine too, although occasionally he has a sleep while out, and he is getting to eat a LOT more pizza than he usually does. It’s so sweet seeing him when he realises that everyone is talking differently to his Mummy and Daddy.
