I don’t eat fish but David LOVED the sushi at Trident! I have to say it actually does look good, and I even tried some of his shrimp so I’m proud of myself:)

David told me that there are two kinds of people, the kind that jump into a cold pool, and the kind that inch their way in. I told him I’m the third kind, I don’t go in:)

First just have to say you guys are all pretttty dang awesome. I mean some of the comments I got yesterday were just the BEST to read and I love how positive you all are and really the comments made my day and I still need to respond to them all! But had to say thank you and you are all just really cool. As I read them I was seriously thinking like why can’t I be friends with these girls in real life?!

Anyways, while in Jamaica we had the pleasure of staying at the Trident Hotel which is part of the Geejam Collection and oh my gosh it was unreal!!! Our villa was HUGE and had its own private pool that could also be heated up to a hot tub. Oh yeah and it all had a view of the ocean. And lounge chairs. And Apple TV. And an outside princess bathtub. And it makes me sick because I want to go back!!!! They have the prettiest grounds ever and they also have their own private beach which is a gorgeous little cove. They also have a hotel called Geejam which we also spent time at (they have THEE best fries I have ever had in my entire life!) and they also have a private beach that has kayaks, paddle boards, and lounge chairs with a killer view. We were the only ones on the beach both times we went so we had the entire beach to ourselves. It really is one of those hotels you want to go to and never leave because you’re so content just sitting in your villa! The breakfast is also included and their banana pancakes are soo good + their orange juice is actually fresh squeezed and I could drink a gallon of it. If you ever have a chance to go, you definitely should, it wont disappoint!

Now we are back and we had a pretty busy day yesterday with A’s music classes and play dates! We have been so lucky to meet some really amazing NYC friends who have babies Atticus’ age and its so fun to see him play with buddies.. even if they end up scratching each other or accidentally knocking each other over (lots of head bonks going on) haha but I think it will be so fun to see him grow up with friends. I am still best friends with a girl because our moms did the same thing with us when we were babies and we have been friends ever since!

Hope everyone is having a good week! It is FABULOUS weather here in NYC!!!!!! Please please please can it stay like this???? Knock on wood.

  1. I love your look with the stripes and cutoff jeans and pattern wrap. Was wondering if I could get permission to post that picture on my blog about happiness awareness on my trend section. Check it out. Thank you, Lacee Porter http://www.restylelife.com

    1. Thanks so much!! And yes, you can as long as you credit me in it 🙂 I will check it out!! Thanks Lacee!! xo

  2. atticus is just too cute & i adore you and those braids!! i love keeping up with your blog/sweet fam 🙂

  3. Hi Amber,
I love the fringe kimono, I was thinking about ordering it.
What is the material like? Would you recommend it only for beach wear or also casual every day look?

Also do you have a promo code for their website? xx

    Thanks love

    1. Hi!! The material is very soft and wearable!! In this post, I am wearing more as a casual every day look, but I would also just wear it with like a swimsuit at the beach 🙂 It’s so versatile. And I don’t have a promo code I am sorry! It looks like the kimono was sold out 🙁 but hopefully they will restock it! xo

  4. I just love all of your pictures of your sweet fam! Your blog & insta & style & hair (everything basically) are my favorite!!

  5. I love all of your pics!! So darling! Was curious what size you ordered for the stripe tank? thanks 🙂

  6. Hi Amber – love the kimono and am thinking of ordering it. Have never purchased anything from Brickyard Buffalo. Can I ask what size you purchased and how you feel it fits?

    1. Good question. I ordered the kimono in a size small!! It is pretty true to size I would say, especially since kimonos are a looser fit anyway!! I hope that helps!! xo

  7. When I went to Belize they had the best OJ that I have ever had in my life! It was delicious 🙂 All of the food looks so yummy, and it makes me feel like I NEED another tropical vacation 😉

    Rachel
    Blonde with a Chanse

    1. Oh wow really?! I would love to go to Belize someday!! You definitely deserve a tropical vacation soon 😉 Thanks for reading Rachel!! xo

  8. I love how you talk about your baby making new friends and that you hope they can last a lifetime. I have a friend like that and I’ve noticed that she and I have an equal relationship. We make about the same amount of money, we have common interest etc. I wonder if it is harder to find friends when you have a certain status. I am a regular person, I don’t have a lavish lifestyle of travel. Is it hard to find friends that do what you are in to?

    1. Thanks so much!! It makes Atticus happy, and I love seeing him interact with other babies 🙂 And I know what you mean, but I honestly love having friends that aren’t into the same things as me because it is a nice change of pace! Although I have a lot of blogger friends that have similar interests too 🙂 It is nice to have both!! It is not always easy to find good friends that last though, so I am loving my new friends here in NYC!

  9. The colors, food, smiles, location . .. . . .love everything about these posts!!!!!!!!!!! You are such an inspiration for creativity and gorgeousness 🙂

    1. Aww thank you Angelica!! That really is such a sweet compliment 🙂 xoxo

  10. I feel the same way when I read comments! I feel like bloggers who comment on other bloggers post are always so sweet and super positive. Especially because they also know how it feels getting super sweet comment from fellow bloggers, so it’s like one big community of girls building each other up 🙂 (Of course, aside from the anonymous ones who aren’t so sweet lol.) Anyway, Your hair looks like it got lighter from the sun and I lovvvve it! <3

    1. I know right?! It is the best feeling reading through such amazing and supportive comments 🙂 And thanks so much!! It’s a lot blonder, but I am liking it! Thank you for your sweet comment love!! xoxo

  11. I have been following your blog for many years now and you are actually the reason why I decided to start my own blog three years ago (I was 18)! Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! I was wondering what type of camera/lenses you use?

    1. Wow thank you so much!! I appreciate your love and support over the years!! What’s the name of your blog?! And I use a canon 5d mark iii with a 2.8 lens 🙂

        1. Okay I just stalked your blog!! You’re so cute!!! And wow all your fun traveling!! Dublin, Barcelona, Florence and more?! You’re covering so many amazing places!! Are you on study abroad?? Looks so fun!! xo

          1. Yeah! I am studying abroad in Rome, Italy! I am traveling to the French Riviera (staying in Nice) next weekend and have re-read all your blog posts about it! Any recommendations on what I should do/see?

            sincerelyjacqueline.wordpress.com

        2. Okay it didn’t give me an option to reply to your last comment, so I’m putting the reply on this haha but oh my gosh yes!! So excited for you to go to Nice!! One of my favorite spots over there is Villefranche-sur-Mer!! Beautiful beach with such clear water! Last time I was there, I also did a boat tour that I would highly suggest! It’s so nice seeing the views from out on the water. And of course, yummy food everywhere! Lots of crepes 😉 And watermelon served on the beach there in Nice! My cousin is studying abroad in Rome as well!! How fun! xo

  12. I seriously enjoy reading your blog and i love all the pictures they are amazing! 🙂 what camera do you use? Xox.

    1. Thank you so much Jenny!! I am so glad you follow along! I use a canon 5d mark iii 🙂 We love it! xo

  13. Aw, you are the sweetest. That is my favorite thing about the blogging world is that it sort of feels like you have a bunch of best girlfriends and you get to know them and their life and kids and it’s so inspiring! I love love love it. And I love these amazing pictures! So happy for you and everything you have going for you!

    1. Thanks so much Angela!! I totally agree!! I love that about the blogging world 🙂 It’s the best! I appreciate your support! lots of love!! xo

  14. All your photos are so dreamy! That’s awesome that you had a chance to explore and interact with the locals. There is so much to see beyond the resorts!

    1. Aww thank you!! Jamaica was SO beautiful so it made it easy to capture 😉 And I totally agree, it is so fun to adventure out and explore on vacations!! Thanks for following along Dani! xo

    1. It was all so great!! Besides the sushi for me 😉 I have never taken a liking to it!! Am I crazy?! haha

    1. It was so beautiful there!! And aww thank you!! I love candid pictures like that 🙂 xo

  15. First of all, your baby is actually the cutest and happiest baby I have ever seen! I have been following your blog for about a year now and recently got inspired to create a blog of my own that is largely inspired by Barefoot Blonde. Absolutely LOVE LOVE your blog & adorable family <3

    http://www.blondebanter.com

    1. You’re too sweet, thank you!! He has his sad moments, but for the most part he is so good-natured!! I lucked out big time 🙂 Thank you so much for following along, I appreciate the love and support!! xo 🙂

  16. This trip looks amazing! Jamaica is definitely on my bucket list! Your son is going to love looking at pictures of all the places you’ve taken him when he’s older! I’m taking my 4 month old son on a road trip this summer and I cannot wait! Much love! X

    1. It really is such a beautiful/fun place!! I highly recommend it 🙂 I am excited for him to look back at all our memories!! And how fun!! Where are you road tripping to?! Thanks for following along! xoxo

      1. We’re in Ontario Canada so we’re heading out to the East Coast both in Canada and the US. Going with our two bffs and their unborn son (who’ll be three months when we go) with two small babies it should be interesting!

  17. The neon and stripes is a great combo, you always look so effortlessly beautiful! I think I have officially recruited all my friends to read your blog and my husband is now finding it totally normal that I am always watching my ipad and trying to recreate your braids! Haha!

    1. Aww thank you so much!! I am so glad you think so Heather!! And oh my goodness!! Thank you for sharing my blog! You’re so sweet!! xo

    1. Jamaica really was so dreamy!! And ahh my life is far from perfect, but I love it just how it is 🙂 Thanks for your sweet comment!

  18. I literally can’t stop staring at all of your photos!! SO dreamy. Love you sis!!

  19. This isn’t entirely relevant to your post but I felt compelled to say something. I know you’ve had a lot of negative comments on your blog and Instagram and I just wanted to say that it looks like you’re an amazing mom and doing a wonderful job. I have a 5 month old baby girl and I know how hard it is to keep them happy/healthy/safe. Your pics of Atticus are my favorite part of your blog and insta ;-). He seems like such a sweet, happy baby boy so you’re doing something right. The fact that you can travel with him like that impresses me, I’m a wreck when I get in the car with my daughter because she usually cries. 😉 Anyway, I know how parents can shame other parents because I’ve had to deal with it as well. I just say whatever works for you and your baby, keep doing it! Sorry…long comment haha.

    1. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful comment 🙂 It totally made my day!! I love hearing from other mama’s like yourself because you can totally relate!! Traveling is definitely NOT easy, but luckily we have a good routine down. And I totally agree!! There’s no one to be a parent, so I would never tell someone how to be one!! Thanks so much for following along Michelle!! xoxo

  20. I think having babies around other babies is so much fun! I’m a nanny for 7 month old twins and they are just starting to really notice eachother and reach for eachother and smile (lots of accidental scratching though!) Your trip looks like it was incredible, you’ve had me totally craving a tropical getaway the past few days (and of course your hair and outfits have been stunning like always).

    1. I agree!! It’s so fun to see them interact!! Besides the scratching of course haha 🙂 I bet you’re an amazing nanny!! And aww thank you so much Jordyn!! I am so happy you liked them! xo

  21. I recently started following your blog, and I absolutely love it!! You are a huge inspiration to me from your style to hair styles! I think the coolest part of your blog is the fact that you are a mother and wife, and you still care about style, not many moms these days care at all about being stylish. I think you can be a good mom and still be fashionable! I hope some day when I’m married and have children I will still care about having style and being fashionable!

    1. Thanks so much Emily!! That is a huge compliment, and I appreciate it so much! I think it’s important to look your best, because it makes you feel your best 🙂 Thank you again for being so dang sweet!! xo

      1. You are so welcome, you totally deserve comments and support that is encouraging! Thank you for being an amazing and inspiring blogger!! God bless you! 🙂

    1. It was the best change of pace from NYC for sure!! Thanks for following along Courtney!! xo

  22. You alway have the best family adventures! How awesome that your sister was there too. You have the sweetest family. So happy!! Thanks for sharing ❤️

    1. Thanks so much Danielle!! It’s so fun making memories with my little family 🙂 Thanks for following along love!! xo

  23. Love seeing cute one pieces! I’m also LDS so I prefer to wear one piece swimsuits but I can’t ever find cute ones! Thanks for sharing some good ones 🙂

    1. I am so glad!! There are so many cute one pieces out there for sure! I am happy to help 🙂 xo

  24. You have a fantastic blog, Amber! You inspire me to surround myself with beauty, whether it be decor, flowers, clothes, makeup, hair, food, or family — you really cover it all!

I purchased those Quay sunglasses in white yesterday! I hope you get commission, girl. **wink, wink 🙂

Also, I am really getting into the one piece bathing suits! Might have to stock up before I head to Asia in the fall!

    1. Thanks so much Natasha!! And wow!! That is the best compliment ever, I appreciate it 🙂 YAY! I hope you like your new sunnies!! They are some of my favs! You’re going to Asia?! Where to?! How exciting!!

      1. Hi Amber! Well the compliment is well deserved 🙂

And sad sad news… My order was cancelled because they are out of stock still! It didn’t indicate they were sold out on the nasty gal website when I ordered them. 🙁 oh well! I guess it wasn’t meant to be! They are fabulous though. I saw that Quay doesn’t even have the invader glasses on their website anymore, which would make it seem like they aren’t even making them anymore!

My boyfriend and I are going backpacking in Vietnam and Thailand! I can’t wait! Backpacking is fun, but it’s so tough to plan out the clothes and shoes to bring! It’s hard to be practical sometimes 🙂

I hope you’re getting over the post-vacation blues! It’s always so tough to come back!

        Xo natasha

        1. Oh no!! I am so so sorry!! Darn it 🙁 I hate when those type of things happen. The kimono and the sunglasses?! ahh 🙁

On a happier note!! You’re going to Vietnam and Thailand!! OMG! I have been dying to go to Thailand, and now Vietnam sounds so cool! And I agree! I always overpack!! haha 😉 Can’t wait to hear about it!

Thanks again for your comments!! And sorry again for the ordering issues!! xo

  25. Your little baby A is so lucky to have the chance to grow up visiting so many places and learning about different cultures. I cannot believe people would be so rude to tell you otherwise. As always, these pics & your style is perfection. I have been reading your blog for years and it’s so awesome to see how successful you are now because of your grace, beauty, and real-ness… I can still remember the post you wrote about squeezing your butt cheeks for an entire road trip because you heard it would tone them & that honest humor is still the reason I still read your blog daily! And to see what your wearing of course 🙂 You ALWAYS have THE best swimsuits!!!

    Love of love,
    Kade

    1. Aww thank you so much for your love and support!! I seriously appreciate it so much 🙂 haha oh my gosh I can’t believe I said that!! Too funny! I am so happy you have been such a loyal follower!! XOXO

  26. What camera did you use for these photos – they are stunning?! Your blog is so perfect

  30. GORGEOUS!
The first and last pics look like they should be magazine covers!

  31. OBSESSED with your kimono! You have the best style! I think my favorite thing about you and your blog is that you post afforadable items and you’re REAL. You truly are relatable and talk about your issues and feelings. I can’t believe people would say negative things about you traveling with your son. Blows my mind! Anyways, love your blog and following you on instagram 🙂

  34. That hotel is a dream. Wonderful food and again so lovely photos Amber! Best photos ever. How do you do that every day? I know it is hard work to post every day but you make it look so effortless! Kisses and Love to you my friend! xoxo, Sissi

    1. It really is the dream hotel!! I highly recommend it to anyone 🙂 Oh and yes, the food was amazing! As far as getting all the work done, the vacation was half pleasure and half business 🙂 We had my sis there to help with Atticus while I did pictures and what not for the posts! I wish I could say it felt effortless, but yes, it’s a lot of work! Thanks for your sweet comment! Lots of love to you!! xo

    1. Thanks so much I am glad you like them!! And he was just the sweetest on this vacation 🙂

  35. You are the sweetest mama, I think I have said this before but it really is inspiring to see how successful you are yet SO SO SO involved with your hubby and baby A. That sort of balance is not seen often. Have a bomb day!

    XO JNESS

    1. Aww thank you 🙂 That is the best compliment! That really is so sweet of you 🙂 I appreciate the positivity! Thanks love!! Enjoy your day! xo

  36. Again, you’re really selling me on this whole Jamaica thing. I was planning on doing Hawaii this year, but Jamaica looks really nice!
I am super curious about these music classes that your son is doing? My baby girl is 10 months old, and I would love something to do like this with her!

    1. That’s a hard choice!! Jamaica and Hawaii are both AMAZING!! Either way, you’ll have a great time! And yes! Atticus loves his music class! He is seriously obsessed!! They do lots of interactive singing, and let them play with the instruments. I bet your baby girl would love it!! It’s so fun to see how they react to music and sounds 🙂

  37. I love the low bun that you wore in the 1st pic! Can I hope for a tutorial?!! I feel like I’m a litle too old for braids anymore – but I could totally rock this style…
Also, how did you even hear about/find the Trident hotel? Port Antonio sounds like a little hidden gem – everyone does Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Negril, etc.. Can you share how you find these great places for your travels?

    1. I am happy you like it!! I will keep that in mind for a tutorial 🙂 And we wanted to go somewhere a little different than the typical touristy spots, so we chose Port Antonio! The Trident Hotel had such amazing reviews, and I mean it’s just breathtaking!! I highly recommend it! And that’s a great idea, I will try to work that into future travel posts!

  38. Amazing pics as always!! I’m glad you have a circle of mummy friends in nyc! I wouldnt be without mine!! Through toddler smiles and tantrums they’re their for me! 🙂

Tried to order the kimono, they dont ship to the uk! Sad times!! 🙁

Keep those play dates coming. Me and my son do 2-4 a week and it is so fun. I have so many amazing pictures of him playing with his little friends for his photo album. He loves looking at them and it’s so special to see his personality come out and evolve when he’s with kids his age.
