Frenchman’s Cove is a little piece of heaven! It was seriously the most quiet and relaxing little cover I have ever been to. We spent the entire day just playing in the water, swinging, and taking naps. It was seriously bliss. Atticus loved the swing and would just get soo relaxed when we would swing with him and he eventually fell fast asleep while still holding on to the rope, it was so sweet! It was so nice having my sis with us so she could play with Atticus while we did work stuff and I love that Atticus gets some auntie time!

I wore this strappy one piece suit and I love the fabric because it is really flattering and thick.. I don’t like when one pieces have thin fabric becuase it kind of shows everything lol. I also LOVVVVE these sunglasses!!! Especially for only $37 I had to get two colors! I tried getting white as well but they were sold out! They are back in stock though so you will have to grab them! They are pretty fun πŸ™‚

We are now back in NYC and we almost didn’t make it back! We were on our way to the airport (2 hour drive on dirt roads with LOTS of pot holes and barely enough room for two cars to fit AND left side of the road – so yes I was having a panic attack the whole two hours!!!) and on our way I got an email that said “Your flight has been disrupted. To help lift the burden of this inconvenience, we have scheduled you on a flight tomorrow at 9:37am” (along those lines) and I was trippin! 1. we had no where to stay in Kingston 2. the flight they rescheduled us on had a 8 hour layover (NOT okay with a 8 mo. old baby) and 13 hours total travel time when our original was a direct with 3.5 hours travel time! I was pretty pissed not going to lie. So I went to talk to the lady at the airport and I totally started crying. I was asking her why it was canceled, she said it was due to weather which didn’t make sense because it hadn’t snowed at all in NYC that day. I pretty much said they couldn’t just leave us hanging like that, and not even offer to find us a hotel or compensate us for our flights so after talking for a bit they finally booked us on another airline for free and we ran barefoot in swimsuit coverups to the gate! It was hectic but we made it home!!!!! I sometimes feel bad for Atticus that we have to travel so much for work.. I know he doesn’t care and doesn’t know a difference really but still sometimes people’s comments telling me I am a bad mom for traveling with my baby get to me (don’t worry not looking for sympathy ha! promise I don’t dwell on it) but how could they not being a first time mom? He is such a good little traveler though, he is so used to it and is such a rockstar on the plane and is just as happy as ever. I swear he knows when we are going somewhere and gets excited – he was happier in Jamaica then he usually is at home! Now that he is so active we buy him his own seat since we do have to travel often so he is more comfortable and we always keep his schedule on NYC time zone and I try to make traveling as easy as possible for him so when I heard that we had NO choice but to have 13 hours travel time I was literally devastated (for my baby) and I was shaking! So I was major relieved that we got on the flight. I just hope one day Atticus is happy that he got to go everywhere with his mama and he loves looking back at pictures of all of our adventures with David and I. My mom always traveled with me as a baby and its fun to look at pictures of us in Alaska fishing, or the mountains, or wherever we were and I hope one day he likes doing the same! The alternative is leaving my baby at home with a nanny and that just isn’t happening so this will work for now and he will have a full passport and plenty of adventures to show for it πŸ™‚ He is such an angel!!! I feel so blessed to be his mom.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Here are some other swimsuits for baby and mama that I love!

  1. SOOO happy I found this blog! My husband & I travel A LOT & I just found out I’m pregnant. I’m so excited but I’d be lying if I said my heart doesn’t sink every time I think about putting a halt to out adventures. …. Glad to see you making both happen! (Cause I’m NOT going on a Disney cruise any time soon!)

  2. Do you have a tutorial for this hair (especially with where to clip your extensions for a long braid)? Thank you so much!

  3. Amber,

I absolutely love your one pieces…they look amazing on you! Also, your tan looks amazing. What are your top, go-to products? Also I am a college freshman who just started my own blog and would love if you could check it out πŸ™‚ I aspire to one day have a blog as awesome as yours!

Thanks for the constant inspiration πŸ™‚

  4. I’m Spanish but I hope I know enough English to comment without grammatical mistakes jijijiji
I think it should not bother you someone comment about yourself travelling with your baby son, I believe you are a wonderfull mum, that you show him your love and all your live is around him. It’s enough to read your comments in New York Fashion Week, how did you rush home to hangout With your baby in your free time. I just have a bout…… whats is your work?????? and especially David’s????

  5. Hello πŸ™‚

Since I have read the part about travelling with a baby I just thought I’d share a bit of my own story and maybe it will make you feel better.
I believe that there’s nothing wrong at all about travelling with a baby. I was raised in three different countries. I was born in Italy, because my father was a medical student there and my mother (they are both Germans) came over so they could be together. I spent the first 1 and a half year of my life livining in Italy. Then my parents decided to go back to Germany, because of the rest of the family. I remember how much I loved spending time with all my cousins and grandparents. But my father had to move to England for work, so my mother and I spent a great ammount of time travelling between both of the countries until at the age of 4 we finally moved there. However we didn’t stay very long because at the time I got to school we went back to Germany. Inbetween we spent a lot of time travelling to Italy, the US, Spain, France and a lot of other countries. The thing I can say is that I feel totally blessed for all the experiences I was able to gain at a very young age. The memories are really precious to me and I loved all the adventures. I also felt that it helped me a lot, because I feel like you get way more open minded. You learn that there are different cultures and different languages and that’s great to improve tolerance and to prevent racism. So don’t worry, I bet little Atticus is just fine. He seems to be a very happy and beloved child, he is really adorable and I wish you all the best. πŸ™‚

  6. I love all the photos! Your trip looked amazing! It’s definitely on my bucket list now!

I just wanted to add that I’ve followed your blog for a while, but have never commented. But I really wanted to say that you seem like such an amazing mother and person and I wouldn’t let those people get to you. Someone always seems to have something to complain about sadly. It makes me so sad that people make criticizing comments about the way you raise your son.
I grew up as a military kid overseas and started traveling almost immediately. It’s kind of a must when you are born overseas and have family in both Europe and the U.S. Whenever my family shares stories of traveling I love being able to see pictures and hear of the adventures I’ve gotten to go and it just makes me want to go back and experience it again as an adult! All of the traveling I grew up with made me the person I am today and I am still constantly wanting to move to new countries and travel everywhere! I definitely think Atticus will look back fondly on all of the videos and pictures and probably have a serious travel bug!

  7. Hi Amber! Lovely post, could you pleaaaaase do a tutorial for this hairstyle? I loved it!!

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

    1. Thank you so much!! I am glad you liked it! I am hoping to do a tutorial for this soon! xo

  8. Absolutely love the pic of you and Atticus on the swing. I have a 16 month old little boy and I cherish the moments like that – aren’t they simply the best? Looks like you had a lovely trip (love your swimsuit too – so cute and looks great) – thank you for sharing.

    1. Aww thank you so much!! It is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. We had a wonderful time!! I love reading comments from other mamas like yourself, it is so sweet!! xo

  9. I had to come back to this post – the photos show how much you have transpired into an incredible woman, mother and wife! It amazing seeing the transition from your wedding, each move, starting a family and now travelling the world (all while looking absolutely incredible!) I’ve heard to find a balance between work, being a mom and a wife is challenging but you have seem to found it – you’re truly an inspiration for all women and moms-to-be πŸ™‚

    1. Oh my goodness!! Thank you for making my day!! You’re the incredible one! Seriously, I loved reading your comment so much. It was so heartfelt and it meant the world to me. Thanks for all the love and support. xo

  10. I would not worry about A! My first flight with my parents was when I was 6 months and I traveled a ton with them. I remember most of our vacations and the cool spots that they have taken my sister and me since we were very small. I’m sure once he is older he’ll be really blessed by it all!

    1. Thanks so much!! It is very reassuring hearing other’s experiences with travelling as a baby/ or with a baby, so thank you for that!! I am blessed to have amazing readers like yourself πŸ™‚ xo

  11. Hi Amber,
First time commenter and Im a little replying, as I saw you got some supportive comments already. I too have a 7 month old, and was moved by your post to reassure you that you appear to be amazing parents. You are living the dream travelling as a family and I can live through you and your amazing photos. You have a moral and respect that all your followers can see with your loving family photos. People will always judge but stay true to yourself and not listen. Love your style! Keep being you amazing Amber

    1. Hi Celeste,
Thank you so much for taking time to leave such a sweet comment. It is so nice hearing reassuring words from other mothers like yourself. I really appreciate your kind words! You’re the amazing one πŸ™‚ xo

      Amber

  12. Amber, I have followed your blog for a long time and have always felt shy(why??:-) to leave a comment. But after reading this post, I just have to! My parents are both business woman/man, so most of my childhood they were always on business trip. I basically grew up with my grandparents. The best memories or connections I had with my parents were the ones they took me with them on their trip! Even though I had food-poisoning or flight-sick or car-sick during those trips, I wouldn’t treat it for anything else! And I am so sure that baby A would think the same when he grows up! Those memories are just so precious! Besides that, I have to say that every day I wait for your feed showing up on blogloving and instagram! Especially since I got much busier at work recently, your blog becomes the only blog I read. Not only because your pictures are always so pretty, but your blog is so so personal like you are talking. And I just cannot get enough of baby A’s pictures/giggles. I mean, he is just so so cute. Best wishes to you and your family!

    1. Zoe,
Please never feel shy to leave a comment, I honestly LOVE more than anything hearing from my readers. It is so refreshing hearing what others have to say. Thank you for sharing your personal experience of growing up traveling, it is so comforting hearing stories like this. I hope Atticus will have this type of perspective when he is older πŸ™‚ Your comment was so perfect and I loved it! Thank you so so much for following along and being so dang sweet!!

      Best wishes to you!
      xo

  13. I love all your blog, pictures and your beautiful family. I am new to your blog and love how easy you link where to get everything at- thank u! I will be purchasing one of your bathing suits and your son’s clothes too. I am also a first time mom to an adorable 8 1/2 month old boy that was born a few days after Atticus I believe (Jun 22). You are an amazing mother! I love his style and will be trying to style my boy the same. I think it is amazing how well you travel with him. I am not good with traveling with my son because I get nervous that I am messing his routine up, he might get cranky, etc..however, you have inspired me and motivated me to get out more with him. Thank you and if you ever do a meet and greet in the city I hope to one day meet you.

    1. I am so happy you are following along now!! And thank you so much for your reassuring comments about traveling with my little one, it is so nice hearing, and I am glad it has given you motivation πŸ™‚ Your little boy is lucky to have you πŸ™‚ You’re so sweet!! And yes, our boys are so close in age! I love that πŸ™‚ I am doing a meet and greet at Dressbarn’s pop up store on April 16th, you should come!! I will link the details below from my post about it a few days ago.

      xoxo

    1. Thanks so much!! I am glad you like it! We had such a great time!! πŸ™‚

  14. Amber I love you so much! I recently started following you on snapchat and I’m convinced Atticus is literally the cutest kid ever. I know you take him everywhere you go, but if you ever need a nanny let me know πŸ™‚ I’m from Salt Lake City and have been a nanny for over seven years. I traveled with my last nanny family all over Europe with their three kids so I know the stresses that come with traveling with littles. Anyway, I really just wanted to say I love you and admire you so much!

    1. Aww thank you Shelby!! I am so happy you follow along on snapchat! It’s so fun sharing bits and pieces of my life with others πŸ™‚ I am grateful for amazing readers like yourself!! And I will keep you in mind if I am ever in need for a nanny, I bet you are amazing with kids πŸ™‚
Lots of love to you!! xo

  15. Nothing annoys me more than strangers (and even friends) bashing each other… ESPECIALLY on social media. You and David know what works best for your little family more than anyone else and it’s obvious that you guys are succeeding and others are jealous. You guys have worked hard to be successful at what you do so just keep doing what you’re doing. I don’t know you and I really don’t know David much (he was EQ pres when I was in that ward), but you both are completely down to earth and it shows. It’s a shame that people lash out when they get envious instead of being your biggest cheerleaders. Atticus is truly lucky to have you as his mama and instead of the rest of us living vicariously through you he is lucky enough to get to go along on this eternal adventure WITH you. Keep doing what you’re doing – you’re obviously doing something right.

    1. I know huh!! It’s so frustrating πŸ™ But it’s hard to not let it get to me, that’s the worst part!! Thank you so much for your encouraging words!! I am the lucky one to have Atticus!! I think when he looks back at all our pictures and videos he will realize how rewarding it is having him with us on our adventures! Thanks again Megan!! It means the world to me! Love you girl!! xo

  16. I think its great for kids to travel with their parents πŸ™‚ much better than having to leave the little guy behind! I’m traveling south America for my final school project this summer, and bringing my 4 month old with me. My alternative would have been 40+ hour work weeks with my son being with a nanny all day for months. Plus, I think he will love looking back at the adventures he’s been on. Seeing you travel with your baby gives me more confidence traveling with mine πŸ™‚

    1. I totally agree!! It would be devastating leaving him behind πŸ™ It is just the sacrifices we have to take sometimes! I loved reading your thoughts about this. So thank you so much for your encouraging words! And wow!! How exciting! Travel safe and good luck with your little one πŸ™‚ I admire you! xo

  17. Love the article and your HAIR!!!!!! You look amazing, and you have a lovely family πŸ˜€
Where can I find the tutorial for your amazing-looking braided hairstyle?
    XO

    1. Thank you Mollie!! That’s so sweet of you!! πŸ™‚ I don’t have a tutorial for this hairstyle yet, but stay tuned!! xo

  18. Oh my gosh Amber, you are the best mom. You would do anything for baby A, I think he is going to absolutely LOVE seeing all the pictures from his trips when he is older πŸ™‚ My parents traveled with us when we were young and it is some of my favorite memories!! My girls love to experience stuff too they are 3 and 7 months and we love taking them everywhere so they can experience things. I think it teaches kids way more to learn by experience! Don’t ever feel like you are a bad mom, you know your baby better then anyone and he seems to glow with happiness!! xoxo

    1. You are a doll!! Thank you SO much!! Your comment meant the world to me Amy!! I agree, I can’t wait for him to see all the experiences and adventures he got to be apart of πŸ™‚ I loved hearing your personal experiences with traveling with your girls!! It is so refreshing! Again, thank you for your kind words! xoxo

  19. You’re an amazing mom, so loving and nurturing! Keep following your instincts, you and David are so great with Atticus! He is lucky to have so much of his life documented, I wish I had more photos of you kids. Love you!

  20. I love every picture you post and could A be any sweeter! I just wanted to comment and say how much I admire your little family and how you bring A with you on all your trips I think its the best and most amazing thing to see that since you have become parents you are always with A and take him everywhere. I would have loved that as a Baby, who wouldn’t! A can look back and see how much you two loved him and took him everywhere to share in your lives and memories. It warms my heart and makes me smile to see all the pictures you post, its the best! You two are wonderful and amazing parents, don’t ever think otherwise. πŸ™‚

  21. So glad y’all made it on that flight. I love how airlines think it’s ok to just cancel a flight and leave you stranded…ugh.
Traveling with a baby doesn’t make you a bad mom…so ridiculous!!

    1. I know right?! It’s so crazy!! We were definitely thankful to have gotten on a flight that day!! And aww thank you so much!! That’s so sweet of you! xo

  22. Love the swimsuit! What size did you get? I’m the same height as you and very similar body type and now that I’ve had my son (10 weeks old) I’m nearly back to my old size and looking for some one pieces. Shopping online is so daunting and I’m always so afraid that I’ll get the wrong size πŸ™

It’s great you travel with your son as much as you do. I’ll be doing the same with mine from NZ to Canada. Unfortunately there are always negative people in the world. I’m a single parent, so I deal with judgey people too. Can’t keep everyone happy, you know your son better than anyone. From what I see your son has a beautiful happy life. For me you are an inspiration to not forget about taking care of myself. I love to spend all my time and energy on my happy boy it’s so easy to forget about myself. You have a great balance!
    Thanks πŸ™‚

  23. So much pretty and sweetness with your family. It’s exciting to see where you are off to from day to day. Atticus will no doubt cherish these pictures as he gets older. I bet he hopes you continue to travel as he grows … Otherwise he might be miffed if all the fun places happened before he could walk and explore and remember. πŸ˜‰ Now if only your pup could travel too! Could you imagine how cute that duo would be in all these exotic places? It’s like a children’s book waiting to happen…. Hint hint.

  24. Hey don’t listen to what people say to you about traveling too much with your baby. Life is short and you want to enjoy every moment. Life is more fun with your family and if given the opportunity I am sure many of those people would love to take their kids or babies with them too. Atticus will love seeing these pictures when he is older. I am a first time mom too and in the beginning was major stressed about everything. Your doing great and glad you guys are loving nyc.

  25. Who on earth has the right to say you’re a bad mum? I say they are a waste of time and just don’t know any better. It is evident that Atticus is happy on your travels, and it is absolutely lovely that your hubs (and sister) come along for the ride so he is always surrounded by family. You do so well in transporting him around too! I know so many mums that can’t even fathom taking their baby on their first plane ride or even a long distance car ride! Bravo to you missy, I know I’ll be asking you for baby travelling tips when the time comes! πŸ™‚ Absolutely adore the first pic of you and baby! And you in that beautiful mosaic swimsuit gives me fitness motivation like no other!!! X

    1. Aww thank you!! You’re the sweetest!! And WOW thank you so much for the feature!! I love it! πŸ™‚ I am so flattered!! You’re the best! xo

    1. Thank you so Emily!! I am so lucky to be his mom πŸ™‚ You are too sweet! xo

  26. This has become my new favorite posts. All of the photos are SO beautiful and and your swimsuit is adorabe. You are so inspiring, I literally rave about you to my boyfriend all time lol. You are so not a bad mom for traveling with Atticus, that is so special. Whenever I have babies I want to take them to so many place. Again, love love love this post!

    xx

    1. It is an amazing place to visit for sure!! And aww thank you Annika!! That means so much to me! xo

  27. Amber you are the cutest mommy ever. Also you are SO SKINNY. Like model thin. How do you look like that after giving birth? What is your diet like? I love your blog and baby Atticus!!

  28. I think it is awesome you guys can travel with him and take him with you instead of schlepping him off on a nanny! Seriously, the memories you and David will have and the stories you can tell him when he’s older will be so awesome! Anddd… what are you doing differently with your eyebrows?? Is it just me?? You are looking even more gorg than usual and all I can think it *might* be is you eyebrows. Do you use a pencil? Powder? Do a makeup tutorial!! Please!!!

  29. I love reading your blog! These pictures from Jamaica were so fun to look at and made me totally jealous! I want to go there! You seem like such an amazing mom and I know you would do anything for sweet little Atticus! He is so lucky to have you. He is so precious! You are doing awesome and I hope I can be just like you one day! Love your blog so much!

  30. I admire you for taking your baby with you and not just dumping him off with a stranger. It makes me happy to see parents WANTING to be with their babies. Only a moron would tell you that it’s horrible to take your baby with you.

    1. Thank you for your comment Catherine. I have been listening to the wrong kind of people sharing their opinions on parenting πŸ™‚ I love hearing amazing comments like this!! You’re the best! xo

  31. I think you’re doing a fantastic job as a new mom! I’m also a first time mama to a little 10 month old girl, and I wish I was as successful and motivated as you are. You totally give me something to aspire to. So don’t listen to what those negative Nancy’s have to say!!

    1. Thank you so much Annie!! That means the world to me. It’s a hard job being a mom, as you know, and I think people forget that πŸ™‚ xoxo

  32. You are so beautiful and inspiring! Atticus is lucky to have such an amazing mom and dad and its so special that he gets to travel to all these places…love your pictures!!

    1. Thank you so much Daisy!! I am so lucky and grateful for my little family πŸ™‚ Atticus is the best little traveler!! xo

  33. Don’t feel bad about traveling with your baby. I was carried all over the world until I was 10 and I’m so thankful to have the upbringing that I had. As long as you devout attention to your baby, make sure he sleeps, and feed him well, he will be fine.

    1. Thank you for sharing that!! I appreciate the encouragement!! It means so much to me!! xo

  34. Amber,
My husband and I recently got married and started our own lifestyle blog. We LOVE your pictures! I always feel inspired after visiting your page. Do you mind me asking, what kind of camera do you use as well as lens?

    Thank You!

    1. Hi Lina!! Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I am so glad you like my blog!! And I use a canon 5d mark iii with a 2.8 lens πŸ™‚ Thanks for reading!! xo

  35. Amber, these pictures are beautiful as always! Your trip looked so amazing. I follow your blog and think that everything you do with A is wonderful. I am sure he will look back on all of the pictures and be so glad that you travelled with him. Hopefully you can keep traveling and as he grows up it gives him a desire to keep seeing new places and traveling the world!

  36. I love these pics! A sleeping in that swing is so precious.
You guys are making amazing memories with him and including him in your lives. Who cares what other people say and think. Regardless of what you do, people will have an opinion and criticize, so do what is right for you and your family.

  37. Oh Amber!! You do NOT need to feel any sense of guilt or shame for traveling with your babe!!! Seriously, you’re a fantastic mama and were perfectly made to be the best mama to your babies! Plus, who wouldn’t want stunning pictures to look back and see all the places you’ve travelled to? I think I would be more upset with my parents if they hadn’t of brought me to places with them! Anyway, just wanted to encourage you from mom-to-mom that you are AMAZING! And good job for sticking up for your little fam and getting on a flight! πŸ™‚

  38. I follow you, but rarely comment. I just wanted to tell you that you are right on, a bad mom would travel and leave baby with someone else. I haven’t traveled a lot but was pregnant for 2 of my big trips. My kids love to hear stories of where they went when they were in my belly. To each his own.

  39. Gorgeous family!! Gorgeous photos!! Atticus is literally the cutest thing EVER. Ignore the negativity, and keep doing your thing girl! I’ve been reading your blog everyday since the beginning! You are my daily inspiration and your posts always make me smile πŸ™‚ XO!

    1. Thank you so much Sierra!! I appreciate your positivity!! And wow I am so grateful for being such a loyal follower!! It means the world to me! You’re amazing!! xo

  40. Hey Amber! I started following your blog about a year ago when I was looking for maternity fashion. I stumbled upon your blog, and I have been a followers ever since. I have a 9 mo old myself now and he is the most amazing little boy too! I have never commented, but I had to write when I read your post about the mean comments sometimes weighing heavy on you.

You are the only one who knows what A needs and wants. Do not let someone sitting behind a computer convince you that you are a bad mom because you travel with him. I think it is an amazing thing and keep it up. Do not let those people’s misery impact you! Keep it up momma!

  41. Beautiful photos! I think it’s great that you travel as a family. It is so good for kids to experience the world. I’ve seen close up how traveling helps kids appreciate the things and the life that they have, and boosts their confidence. We tend to think that by sheltering our children and making life easy for them we are doing what is best (which is probably what’s going through the minds of those criticizing) but I think giving kids experience early on prepares them for what’s to come when they are older, and they get to see things that help them understand how amazing their life actually is. Your baby is obviously happy and healthy, and you get to be together; that’s what really matters. Barefootblonde is fairly new to me, so I haven’t read much, but I am loving how honest you are on your blog, and how family oriented it is. Oh and I LOVE your hair tutorials. Keep up the good work πŸ™‚

  42. Absolutely stunning photos!
..and as the happy photos and other comments confirm your doing a fantastic job at being a mummy!!

Yeah he may not remember these trips yet but imagine the education he’s getting when later down the line you discuss these trips. You cant buy memories and geographical education like this!
…and as for a nanny.. i have nothing against them but hes way better off with you! Enjoy the memories and he will too! πŸ™‚

  43. Your photos are absolutely gorgeous! I had to write when I read the part of how you felt bad about people commenting you’re a “bad mom” for traveling with your baby. These people are just ignorant or jealous. If it makes you feel any better, my mother n’law used to travel with my husband and his siblings extensively as newborns and continued traveling with them into their adulthood (we now bring her on our trips). Also, I don’t know if her traveling influenced the kids love of travel but they all are addicted. It also provided each of them with interesting stories and experiences to write about for their college essays and allowed each of them to get into the best universities. I believe my husband’s exposure to traveling extensively definitely helped him get accepted and go to Stanford and Yale. So don’t feel bad… When Atticus is all grown up, I’m sure he’ll be grateful for all the amazing experiences you provided him, beautiful photos and lifelong memories.

  44. I get so tired of others moms telling each other how to parent. Girl, if it works for you and baby keep it up!! I’m sure he will look back and realize what a treasure it is to have traveled so much. Keep it up, Amber. You’re such a good mama!

    1. I know it!! It’s getting old πŸ™ But I love hearing positive comments like this!! So thank you so much for your sweet words!! I appreciate it so much!! You’re the best!! xo

    1. I think every beach should have a swing!! It was so fun! πŸ™‚ And aww thank you so much for your sweet comment!! I totally agree πŸ™‚ xoxo

  45. Beautiful pictures Amber! So glad you made it back to NYC on schedule, I would have had a panic attack too if faced with 13 hrs of travel with a little one! Speaking of travel with a little one–can you do a blog post or video on YT focused on tips for traveling with a baby? I have a 6 month old and we are going to be doing a trip soon and am kind of nervous about the while airport/plane business. Like, where do you change a diaper on a plane? I know that’s not a very glamorous topic, haha, but I would really love to know how you do it!

I really hope you don’t take the negative comments about traveling with baby A to heart. Yes your family travels a lot compared to the average family, which I’m sure has its challenges, but anyone can plainly see that Atticus is a well cared for and HAPPY baby. You keep his schedule consistent and give him lots of play time, so I really don’t see the problem. I used to be a social worker and saw many children who were abused and neglected, so don’t even get me started on the differences in your parenting to that of one struggling with caring for their child! Ok, this is officially the longest comment ever, but I just felt compelled to give my two cents!

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us πŸ™‚

    xx,
    Amanda

  46. Honestly, I think it’s super impressive that you can travel so much with a baby and that you still do what you love while being a great mom. I’m sure all those negative comments are just from jealousy. And you look stunning!

  47. What amazing pictures!!! I love your suit, and Atticus looks as happy as ever πŸ™‚ You are a great mom Amber, don’t let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise πŸ™‚

  48. Looks like you guys had lots of fun! You’re making me want to go here for my 1 year anniversary! I was actually telling husband that you guys are role model parents. Other parents just let babysitters raise their kids while they are having fun on vacation. So the fact that you take Atticus with you everywhere is commendable!

  49. That swimsuit is so gorgeous and wow do you have a body! And that shortly after giving birth? I have not recovered and my son is 10 lmao! Kisses beautiful!

    1. Wow thank you!! That is way too nice of you! I am sure it will be a lot harder to recover after I have more πŸ™ haha oh well!! We do what we can πŸ™‚ Thanks so much love!! xo

  50. Loved the photos!!! I literally JUST bought those exact same sunglasses from Peppermayo.com and then got onto your IG page a few hours later and was so pleasantly surprised because I saw you got them too! So that was kind of cool haha. Side note, people who make negative comments about your mothering because you travel a lot…. are clearly just jealous. There are so many children out there in horrible/abusive situations who need help…. The people who put you down should be advocating for THOSE kind of children. The only reason they choose to put you down, is because they are jealous of the awesome lifestyle you are living. A is clearly a happy healthy baby who is very very loved, if people want to put that down, it is because they are jealous of the fact that you are a mom who can juggle so much and do it all!

  51. ugh, I can’t even believe that people would tell another woman she is a bad mother…so hurtful!! I hate this idea that life ends with parenthood…culturally we use words like “empower” and “fulfill your dreams” etc but then are for some reason are expected to give it all up with a baby.. people are constantly telling my husband and I to ‘get the travel bug out now before you settle down and have kids’… i’m a firm believer in adding children to your life rather than changing your life to suit your children…

    1. Thank you so much Jenna!! We had a great time! And wow!! How exciting!! You will have a great summer indeed πŸ™‚ xo

  52. These are the most gorgeous photos! I’m so glad you’re sharing so many from your trip because I’ve been dying over your Instagram!!

And I LOVE that my parents traveled with me when I was little! It meant I grew up used to traveling (not scared of planes, etc.), embraced different cultures, and got to see amazing places by a young age! I don’t understand why anyone would say that’s bad for your baby. I think it’s AMAZING for Atticus and I promise that he will look back and love how adventurous and unique his childhood was! Plus you get to make amazing memories as a family and that’s the most precious thing in this world πŸ™‚

  53. I love seeing how you travel with little A. It gives me hope that things will be alright when I have my baby in September. We travel all over the world and I’ll be traveling to the US to deliver. Long story made short, I’m kind of dreading the two day trip home to Africa after I deliver, by myself, with a 6 week old. I would love it if you could do a post with travel trips from all the knowledge you’ve gained.

  54. these pictures are all so beautiful, jamaica is now on my (ever-growing) list of places to visit!!

i just wanted to say that i feel like it shows how much you go out of your way to care for atticus and make sure he is getting the best possible care. even if people think it’s not good for him to have a changing schedule, yadda yadda yadda, there are other things to consider and keeping him with you and showing him an appreciation for adventure and travel from a young age are also important! i hope that one day i get to do the same with my future little ones! i think you are doing a great job, in fact i totally look up to you!

  55. This might be my favourite post from Jamaica so far! The back of the swim suit is gorgeous, and those sunglasses are killer, especially for only $37?! Such a steal!
Flight cancellations are the worst, but I can only imagine how stressful it is with a baby! We missed our flight from Paris to Montreal (a layover from Warsaw) a few years ago and we had to spend the night in Paris (horrible, right?), but they put us in a horrible hotel and we were all in tired, stressed moods. Then, the next morning, we were booked to leave around 12pm, but our flight kept on getting delayed and we didn’t leave until 8pm!! If we had known there would have been such a delay, we would have spent time doing tourist things, but we were stuck in an airport all day!

    M.

    1. Aww thank you!! There was just too many pictures I loved I had to do multiple posts πŸ˜‰ And yes such a steal!! I love the glasses! And ugh yes, you totally understand how frustrating it can be!! It is such a relief once we made it back to NYC for sure!! Traveling can definitely be stressful at times!!! But then again it’s so rewarding! Thanks for reading Monica!! xo

  56. You look so beautiful in all of these pictures, you seriously look a model! All of these pictures look like so much fun, and what a great experience for Atticus, sometimes people need to keep their comments to themselves, ya know?! But I love checking your blog DAILY (lol!) and I wish someday I can travel with my baby as much as you do! πŸ™‚ Thank you!<3

    xoxo,

P.s. Those swimsuits are SO CUTE!!!!

  57. Oh my goodness, who on earth would say traveling with your baby is bad? lol. That is the best experience you could ever give them! It gets them used to traveling, and therefore life’s everyday disruptions, you can’t have a perfect schedule 24/7/365! That’s crazy. My girlfriend travelled with her baby all over Europe and Florida when she was very young, and she is so well situated now, travelling around locally, sitting or waiting happily. I say go for it, and expose him to all you can while he’s young. Imagine how pleased he’ll be to see all the amazing places he’s already been once he’s older!

    1. I totally agree!! He is so good at adjusting to certain situations now because we have exposed him to so many different things!! It’s so hard to have a “perfect” schedule, and we just do the best that we can!! I love hearing other’s experiences about traveling with a baby!! So thank you for sharing that about your girlfriend!! And yes, I am so excited to look back at all our fun memories with Atticus when he’s older πŸ™‚

  58. First off, love, love, love, the swimsuit! So cute! Second, it’s amazing that your son is getting to experience all of these different places, even if he is so young. Most kids don’t even get to leave the state that they’re from! He’s a lucky boy!
    http://www.theeverydaybrunette.com

    1. Thank you Kari!! I am so glad you like it! And wow that is so sweet of you to say! I appreciate your words of encouragement!! I bet you are one amazing mom yourself πŸ™‚ xo

  59. Amber,
I’m in love with you and your little family. My 1 year old sits and watches Atticus’ video and just smiles and giggles along with him. One question that I have is, Will you ever consider posting information on your husband attire? Swim trunks mostly. My husband and I are going to Dominican Republic in May and I’m trying to find the cutest, comfiest swim trunks for him that do not look like what a teenager would wear from Pacific Sunwear. πŸ™‚
I believe our husband’s are around the same age, my husband will be 29 later this year, and I need to get his style moving to a more mature, put together look. If you can please help that be wonderful:)

    1. Amy,
Aww thank you so much!! And oh my goodness!! Stop it!! That is seriously the cutest thing!! πŸ˜‰ That makes me so happy! I bet your 1 year old is a cutie!! And when David is in my posts, I do tag a few outfit details from what he is wearing, but I definitely need to start being more thorough about it!! I totally know what you mean about the teenager looking swim trunks haha! David likes getting his from Asos, definitely try there πŸ™‚ Have a wonderful time in the Dominican Republic! How exciting!!

      http://www.asos.com/Men/Swimwear/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=13210&r=2

      1. Amber,

Thank you. That was thoughtful to say. We will definitely check Asos out. I’ve got to get my butt in gear and start ordering his stuff so he is vacation ready!

        Thanks again!

  60. I know you’re not looking for sympathy but I just have to comment because it drives me insane when women tear each other down. We should be supportive of one other. So I just have to say, what an amazing way for him to grow up! He’s been so many places and will have so many priceless experiences! I’m sure it just boils down to the usual crap:jealousy. As long as a child has love, support and stability, then you are doing a great job. Some children don’t even get those basic things. Keep on keepin on πŸ˜‰

    1. On another note…you always have the cutest one piece suits and you are tall…how do you find them?! I’m not as tall as you but have an abnormally long torso and can never find one piece suits that are long enough.

    2. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!! It meant the world to me to read this! I appreciate your support so much!! It was so nice and refreshing hearing all these positive comments, and seeing women build each other up. I am so excited to share these pictures with Atticus one day, and yes, I think he will love having the experiences. Again, thank you so much!! You’re amazing!! xoxo

  61. Amber – I know you didn’t ask for sympathy, but it seriously looks like you and David are great parents! Everyone can give their advise and points on what a “good parent” is – but you can graciously take that and then do what YOU feel is right. You’re doing a great job!

Also, that bathing suit…. no absolute way. It is stunning!!!

    Beth @ Full on Joy

    1. Beth, thank you so much for your sweet and heartfelt comment!! It meant so much to me. And I agree, there are too many people trying to tell others how to parent.. But I have learned it’s best for the parents to figure it out on their own πŸ™‚ I appreciate your love and support!! xo

  62. Beautiful pictures! It looks like you had so much fun!! I just wanted you to know that as a mom to two girls ages 1 and 3 I would absolutely take them on all my travels, if I were you. I think it shows what an amazing mom you are, the fact that he’s always with you! Keep on doing what you are doing because he’s happy and it’s all about what is right for you and your family! Not anyone else’s! Love your blog!!!
    Xoxo Nell

    1. Thank you so much Nell!! I am so happy to hear a fellow mom would do the same thing I would!! It is so reassuring to hear that πŸ™‚ I appreciate the love and support so much!! I bet you are an amazing mom yourself!! xo LOVE YA!

  63. Great post! Gorgeous photos!! And I know you said you aren’t looking for syspathy but I think it’s important to support and empower other women instead of trying to bring them down. In my opinion you’re a fabulous mother! I have always liked your blog but honestly I’ve loved it even more since you’ve had your son! It’s heart warming to see how much you love him, and I think he will be thanking you and your husband someday for the fortunate life he lives πŸ™‚

Keep up the awesome job Amber! And forget the haters. Misery loves company πŸ˜‰

    Xox

    1. Aww thanks so much!! I agree, I am all about empowering women! It’s frustrating that it is so hard for people to do so! And then I read amazing comments like this, and I realize there are SO many women like yourself that have empowered me!! I appreciate it! Thank you so much Shawna!! Your comment was so refreshing to read!! I loved it!! Thank you for the encouragement!! xo

  64. Don’t you just LOVE when other people try to tell you what’s best for your child! My husband and I travel travel with our son all the time, I travel a lot for work and when I’m able to I take him with me. If not I leave him with family or his dad and I recently got called a terrible mother for either not giving him enough stability or pawning him off on others” it does hurt but I try my best to ignore it and like you just hope he looks back at all the great places he’s been with us! You’re a great mom and I love your blog!

    1. Ugh I know!! πŸ™ I am so glad to hear you have experienced similar things!! It’s so hard to hear!! But I feel like what is the other option? Working mothers do the best they can, yet other people still have a problem with it. I will do my best to ignore it too!! Thanks for the encouragement and sweet words!! It means the world to me! You’re amazing!!! xo

  65. I was living overseas when I had my daughter. I had to travel internationally all the time …so no shade for me. Like you said, they really don’t know the difference. I moved back to US when she was 18 months. It gets alittle harder as they get older. It’s hard for them to sit down, etc. anyway, you’ve gotta do what you gotta do! A lot of people have to travel for work (my hubby) and don’t get to see their kids…so you’re lucky!
    Have fun!!!

    1. Wow!! Go you! You’re so inspirational Paula! Thanks so much for sharing your insight, I absolutely loved reading your comment. And yes, I can only imagine it gets harder as kids get older, so right now is a perfect time for us to take Atticus with us πŸ™‚ Thank you again for your words of encouragement!! xo

  66. Some people can be hurtful. I know your not looking for sympathy but as a mother who has a passion for mothers I felt the need to write. Most of the time it is out a jealousy that people say such harsh things. I think traveling is no big deal. Instead I think it’s amazing you BRING your child to experience all these amazing places with you. So good for you. We have a 7 year old boy and travel all the time. My son loves it and always asked where we’re going next. Your a great mother and love following your blog and Instagram. Haters gonna hate πŸ˜‰

    1. I agree, people can be so mean sometimes, but then I read everyone’s comments and realize how amazing and supportive people there are too!! And that is what matters. It is so nice to hear from mothers like yourself. That is so cute your son loves traveling!! How neat that he is excited to explore the world! Thank you so much for sharing your insight. I appreciate it!! xo

    1. Wow thanks!! I am so glad you like them!! Jamaica really was a dream! Thanks for your comment πŸ™‚ xo

  67. I just wanted to say I love following your blog and I admire you as a mother because you get to do what you love while spending time with your little one. So ignore all those mean people who have nothing better to do than criticize because you inspire so many more people!

    1. Thank you so much Erin!! That is so sweet of you to say! I really appreciate your love and support!! And I am so happy you are following along πŸ™‚

  68. Amber. Please stop. You are NOT a bad mother for traveling with your baby. Don’t ever put that in your head. If I could do it, I would and I am an experienced Mother. My youngest had to travel quite a bit as a baby and now anytime we go somewhere, she is THE BEST. Other children are screaming and she’s having the time of her life and she’s a toddler. Because she had experience! Expose him to as much as you’d like! He’ll be a better behaved toddler for it. And common……..isn’t he not just the happiest baby too? You’re clearly a VERY loving Mother! He’s very lucky to have such a parent who clearly adores him but also allows him to engage in some seriously awesome life experiences. You’re doing a wonderful job. You decided to have him along instead of a nanny. I believe most would had left their baby home with a nanny to keep them from “out of their routine” excuse…aka…I get time away from my baby. You choose to take him! Not an easy job traveling with kids. People need to realize you too the HARDER route! People who make comments of you being a bad Mother need to stop. I bet your also the Mothers who are snarky and haters the park too. They need to go blow a horn. Keep doing your thing Amber. He’s clearly doing jjjjuuusssssttttt fine! Promise! If I still lived in NYC, I’d ask you out for coffee with my lil guy, give you a hug and tell you to your face your doing awesome! Water off a duck honey!

    1. Thank you so much for that Erin. You sound like an amazing mother, and you’re an inspiration. I love hearing that your youngest one is such a good traveler now!! The difference in exposure to things as a baby is so crazy. I hope that happens with Atticus πŸ™‚ I love hearing your personal experiences with traveling with babies, because it has been so reassuring to me. And you’re so right, the positive thing about traveling is I get to go with my family, and we get to experience these moments together. You made my day!! I hope we can meet someday! If you’re ever in NYC, shoot me an email πŸ™‚ Thanks again for your kind words, it was much needed and I really appreciate you taking the time to write this πŸ™‚ You’re the best! xoxo

      1. You’re so welcome Amber and thank you for your sweet reply. Don’t worry, your son will be amazing. Just hurts my heart that people had to be snarky to you. Oh the memories your building! Oh, BTW, how’s your Golden with the baby? He’s amazing right? I have a 5month old and just decided to get a 8 week old Golden who comes home in April. I might be insane raising to “babies” at the same time but Goldens I hear are just so perfect with the babes. Was yours easy to potty train? It’s been a while Ive potty trained anything but a human. LOL!!!!!

        1. Thanks Erin πŸ™‚ And yes, I always have to remember the sweet memories we are making, and it makes it all worth it!! And our Golden Chauncey is amazing with Atticus!! I will say though, it took him awhile to warm up to Atticus, but now they are best buds! I am excited for you to get your Golden!! And potty training was actually pretty easy!! I don’t know what it is about Goldens but they are so smart!! Let me know how it all goes πŸ™‚ xo

    1. Thank you so much Gracie!! It was a dream there!! And Atticus sure loved the beach πŸ™‚ Thanks for your sweet words!! xo

  69. these photos are stunning!! i want to jump into that cove so bad!! and oh my gosh, i love that you travel with your baby! especially at that age, it seems like as long as their with mom, they’re happy!!! that’s all they need!! you are such a good mama, it’s obvious!

    1. Luckily Jamaica is so gorgeous, so it made picture taking pretty easy πŸ˜‰ And aww thank you so much!! You’re a sweetheart! I honestly can’t imagine not having him with us on our trips!! Thanks again πŸ™‚ You made my day! xo

    1. Thank you so much Quinn!! That means the world to me!! I love the support πŸ™‚ xoxo

  70. Don’t you worry Amber! As long as he’s happy , it doesn’t matter. And he looks happy to me. Your job may require you to travel frequently (which isn’t that bad, I’m sure…) and other peoples’ jobs require them to be working full time months after giving birth and leaving their babies in daycare until they’re back. It’s always a slipperey slope, but I think you guys are doing great.

    1. Thanks so much Sophia!! That means a lot to me!! You are so right, why should it matter as long as he is happy πŸ™‚ I love hearing other people’s perspectives! Your words were so comforting, so thank you!! I appreciate the love and support! xo

  71. I am knew to your blog but felt compelled to comment about being that nonsense about being a bad mom for traveling with a baby.
I have a number of friends who grew traveling a lot with their parents as children and also moving countries frequently during childhood/adolescence. I have to say that they are some of the most open, well-adjusted people I’ve ever met. They’re adventurous, aren’t scared to go new places, and are excited about new cultures etc. Additionally, a few of my friends are mothers, with children now well into their 20’s, who had to move their families frequently (internationally) due to work. Again, their families are so “together” and their kids are just awesome and amazing individuals. Although your son may not have memories of this time in his life, it will probably have a positive impact on him later!

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your personal insight on this! It really opened my eyes to one of the major benefits of traveling with my little family. I hope that Atticus will benefit from the traveling and adventures he has been on with us πŸ™‚ And yes, I totally agree, I love the fact that he has seen so many different cultures! I loved reading your comment, it made my day!! Thanks again Christine!! xo

  72. Just want you to know that my 8 month old daughter travels with me every week for my job… she’s been on 73 flights already! I’m often told how terrible I am to do that to her. When I start to feel guilty (I’m a first time mom too), I look down at my smiling baby who does amazingly well on planes, loves people and can handle the unexpected. Life is about relationships and experiences… Atticus is just getting a head start! All the best.

    1. That is amazing!!! Wow!! Reading this made me realize how nice it is to hear from other mama’s that can relate! I love it!! And you’re so right, as long as the baby is happy, what is the harm?! Thanks so much for your sweet comment and opening my eyes to positive πŸ™‚ All the best to you too Samantha!!

  73. Seriously awesome that you take your baby everywhere AND nurse him. I freak when we have to drive an hour in the car with my pump and tons of baby stuff lol and this is my second (same age as yours). You should write a book with all of your tricks. Most people would leave their kid home, but keep it up! Love reading your blog.

    1. Aww thank you so much Cheyna!! Honestly, I know what you mean though!! Most situations are tricky with a baby! I appreciate your thoughtful and encouraging words!! I bet you are one amazing mom yourself πŸ™‚ I am so glad you follow along! xoxo

  74. I’ve been traveling with my daughter since I had her when I was 20. Now, I drag all 3 of my kids all over the world with me. There is no shame in what you are doing. Make memories, take pictures and enjoy life. If you can take him with you, DO!! I’m glad you guys had a great trip!! Enjoy home for a little while {until the next adventure!!}
    xx Ashleigh @SimplyWright

    1. Wow are you serious?! You’re amazing!! I can’t imagine doing it with 3 kids!! That’s incredible! And thank you so much!! It is so nice hearing that from someone who can totally relate. I admire you πŸ™‚ Thank you for the love and support Ashleigh!! xoxo

    1. Thank you!! It was sure beautiful there!! I am so glad you enjoyed it πŸ™‚ xo

  75. Amber!! I just started reading your blog a few months ago! I am only 16 but I LOVE your fashion, makeup, and hair! Atticus is such a little cutie. You seem like a great mom πŸ™‚

    1. I am so happy you’re following along now!! And thank you so so much!! That is such a nice compliment! Lots of love to you Sara!! xo

  76. aw amber, so i feel do dumb but i totally started tearing up reading your post haha. i have a 5 year old boy and even though my son is older than yours i seriously look up to you as a mom! you are the sweetest most loving mother i have ever seen and i cant believe people would ever think you are a bad mom! you serious inspire me to be a better mom because looking at all you pics of you and your son and getting your snaps of him just shows me how much you love him and i love that. he is so incredibly lucky to have you as a mom! thank you for inspiring and being so real to tell your story and how your life really is!

    1. Oh my goodness!! How are you so sweet?! Your words are so genuine and sincere, I love it! Thank you thank you! You seem like one AMAZING mom πŸ™‚ I appreciate your love and support Faye!! xoxo

  77. I am a first time Mom to a 6 month old little boy (who would totally be tight with Atticus, I’m convinced). You cannot fake the happiness in your son’s face. He radiates. Each baby has their own personality and Atticus seems to enjoy adventure and he definitely enjoys his time with you and your husband. It’s obvious. So maybe all the travel would be unfair with another child, but you’d know right away if you were pushing him. If he’s sleeping, healthy, and happy, then you’re doing what’s right for you and your family. End of. And I am heading to Europe in May and would die for some tips on how to fly with baby if you’re inspired to do a post on that topic. First time Moms….we get A LOT of stuff wrong. We learn as we go, but our kids are loved and at the end of the day, that is what matters.

On another note, I don’t get the serious amount of shade that is thrown at you. I TOTALLY get it about other bloggers but I think you’re one of few who is sincere, gives back to your readers (I trimmed my own hair this weekend thanks to your tutorial, thanks for saving me time and money!), and I think even with all your success, you haven’t forgotten your roots or become entitled. So congratulations to you.

Atticus will definitely make it abundantly clear when/if he wants life to slow down. But videos and photos of that boy’s ear to ear grin show he’s A-OK for now. I plan on immunizing for MMR before we travel (my son will be 8 months) but I seriously don’t want to open that debate on your website. Otherwise, my Pediatrician could cite no other health risk posed by flying.

    1. Okay you’re just too cute!! Your words put a smile on my face. I LOVED reading this!! That is such a good point about every baby having their own personality. And yeah maybe some babies would hate traveling, and not saying Atticus loves it, but he is honestly happy on trips so that’s all that matters. He loved Jamaica it was so cute. That is so exciting you are going to Europe!! I would love to do a post on traveling tips with babies, that is a great idea! And yes, first time moms have to experiment and figure out what works best for THEIR family. I agree, vaccinations are always very important with babies that are traveling.

Now all we need to do is have our little ones have a play date so they can be friends πŸ™‚ Thank you so much Katie!! I am so lucky to have amazing readers like yourself!! Thanks for the love and support. xo

    1. Thank you so much for that Deanna!! That means a lot to me πŸ™‚ I appreciate your comment! xo

  78. Oh Amber these pictures are so Beautiful of you guys!!! I am so stinking glad you all had a wonderful time together, and I absolutely loved your hair, swimsuit and ok Everything, you are one Hot Mama ha ha!!!

    1. Aww thank you Michelle!! You’re WAY too nice!! We had such an amazing time!! Thanks again for being so sweet πŸ™‚ xo

  79. I enjoyed looking through all your pictures! Frenchman’s Cove looks so quaint and peaceful, and the water looks so nice. I am looking forward to the warmer swimsuit weather! Love the Trina Turk one. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much!! It was so beautiful there! I am looking forward to Spring & Summer weather too!! Thanks for following along πŸ™‚
