^^My favorite thing in the entire world is seeing him stretch when he wakes up and LOVE when his little leggies are still curled up when I pick him up! It literally melts me.

Barefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeBarefoot BlondeWe just got back from Destin and I have baby A sleeping on my chest right now just in heaven! I love when he is curled up like a little peanut on me 🙂 But this weekend was the best weekend ever! Who knew Destin was so dang pretty? The water is soo clear and the sand is the whitest sand I have ever seen, its like snow during the day time. I can definitely appreciate clear water because being able to KNOW if a shark is coming or if a jellyfish is right next to me is quite comforting hahah I hate the unknown of the ocean, freaking scary! We stayed in a little rental on the beach and they are all actually suuuper inexpensive for such a large space RIGHT on the beach, I was super surprised and I have to say it was SO nice just being able to come and go as we wanted and not having to pack up all the baby stuff and drive to the beach. We would just pop in and out and we were able to go inside and give baby A lots of breaks from the heat, it was so humid our sunglasses would fog up instantly when we walked outside. I have a feeling we will be doing lots of Destin weekend trips.

I sure missed our pup though. Even though he can drive me bonkers sometimes (hello barking right after the baby falls asleep! Ugh!) it doesn’t feel the same without him and we always miss him lots. Our reunions are always so sweet though, he was squealing and crying today when we picked him up, it was so cute. But in all reality I think he looks forward to us leaving haha.. we use Dog Vacay (you can find families with dogs or people who just love dogs who will watch them for the weekend) and we have always had the best people watch him. He has been taken to the lake, to a cabin, on hikes, you name it. This weekend he was with a lady in Destin who also has a golden and she said they just played the entire time and got along so well and she took them on several walks a day. Much better than being in a kennel in my opinion. Not to mention every time we pick him up he sleeps non stop for the next 24 hours cause he is so pooped from playing haha its the best.

Anyways, hope you guys all had a great weekend and be sure to check out the article I did for SheKnows on how to do a French manicure with Q-Tips! xoxo

  4. I love that you use a service like that for dogs instead of kenneling him! I always think about what I’m going to do with our pup once we move and want to go on little weekend trips. Right now my parent or in laws take care of our sweet pup because they live right here in town but when we move to Alabama and don’t know anyone I’m definitely going to use that service you used! What a fabulous idea! Super cute pictures by the way…your little family is just adorable!

  5. We were staying at Seaside (just 20 minutes east of Destin) around the same time you were in Destin! I would have loved to meet you! Destin is a great place, glad you got to get away for the weekend with your cute family! I’ll be posting pictures of our trip tomorrow so check it out!

  6. I’m going down to Destin with my hubs for our 1 year in 2 weeks. What website did you use to find the house rental? We have been searching everywhere for cheap places to stay!

    1. From the pics it looks like Crystal Sands Condominiums. We’ve stayed there for 28 years. Sooooo pretty!

  8. Love your blog. Have been following it for a long time and now I’m addicted! The photos are always so gorgeous.
Just wanted to give you a couple suggestions on sunscreens for you and your family. I am an esthetician in Seattle, WA and believe in using organic products. Coola sunscreen and Suntegrity are both wonderful and safe for you and your hubby and baby. Just FYI!:)
Again, love you blog! Keep up the great work!

  9. It looks like you had a wonderful little family vacation! So beautiful! I was wondering where David’s topical t-shirt is from? My husband and I are going to Jamaica soon and I think it would be perfect for him!

  10. If you’re looking for an all natural sunscreen that rubs them pretty well try Juice Beauty. You want a sunscreen that has zinc oxide because it’s the only ingredient that blocks UVA rays (cancer causing) and UVB rays (burning). Don’t believe anybody who tells you that wearing sunscreen all the time will prevent you or your baby from getting enough vitamin D. Your body still produces vitamin D even with sunscreen on. And it only takes about five minutes of sun exposure for a light-skinned Caucasian to produce a daily dose of vitamin D. Check out EWG’s sunscreen guide for more options.
    Sigh. Rant over.
I love that dress! Just ordered one and I’m hoping they restock the Rain Maxi in a small soon!

  11. So gorgeous! Random question- does your husband take a lot of the pictures of you for your blog? They always looks so good. I am new to the blogging world, and I’m having trouble getting myself into the frame, my hubby is just not great with the ole camera;) Trip looks amazing, we are going on our beach trip soon, for two weeks and I could not be more excited. We have started going to seaside, I don’t think it’s very far from Destin, ya’ll should definitely check it out sometime, it’s so quaint and charming, we love it!
