Okay first things first, this swimsuit is an absolute must for anyone searching for a flattering swimsuit! Just trust me, you will absolutely love it and I am convinced it could look good on any body type!

We went to two of the five villages of ‘Cinque Terre’ and this was our first! It is called Vernazza and it is absolutely beautiful! It also has the best and cheapest food! We got the most delicious pizza and pasta at a place called Fratelli! There is also a restaurant up on the cliff that is super cheap that my husband has eaten at before but unfortunately it was closed ๐Ÿ™

We met a lot of backpackers here and it was so fun chatting with other people on their travels. A few of them asked us our budget since they were taken back by our six week stay and they were stunned to hear that we were paying less in six weeks than they were in 12 days! If there is one thing my husband and I are good at, its traveling cheap and finding deals.. our motto is ‘travel cheap and travel often’ ! Plus who knew Priceline had the most amazing deals all along!? We are currently in a suite at a hotel on the Almafi Coast for $41 a night that has our own balcony overlooking the ocean and endless supply of towels which I am oddly happy about ๐Ÿ™‚ ! It is so crazy because these deals could never be found in USA in touristy areas.. you’re lucky if you find a decent place in NYC for $100 a night! We brought a tent and sleeping bags because we researched a ton of amazing camping sights that have the most amazing views but haven’t had to use them once because we have been stunned by our online steals. I was thinking to share all of the hotels we are staying at but a lot of them are deals on Priceline right now that may not be on there a month from now when someone is reading this, but if you are planning to go to Italy in the near future please email me and I will share all of our cheap treasures! So just know if you are wanting to go to Europe, you can still have a fabulous time and it doesn’t need to cost you a fortune!

Also if you are ever in Vernazza – we found a hidden beach on the left (when walking to the water).. there are signs that look like they say do not pass but we passed (rebels ๐Ÿ™‚ haha) and found the most amazing beach that no one was on!

    1. Hey Jenna, did you hear from Amber? My husband and I are also traveking to Italy and we would love to now some tips. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Hey Larissa, I didn’t hear back…but here’s a great resource: ricksteves.com (check out the travel forum–search for your topic/question). Hope that helps! Have a great trip!

  2. When you have traveled to Italy did you rent a car or just go for the train? A car seems so much convenient! We are going in May and would love some advice on how to go from place to place. Especially with luggage. Thanks Amber!!

  3. Hi Amber,
I really love your blog and i felt in love with 2 of your swimwears..
This one that you had in Italy but that i can’t find anymore ๐Ÿ™
And the original red one with 2 pieces but that is too expensive for me.
Could you give some suggestions to find almost the same as you are doing now.
    Thanks ร  lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!merci merci!!!!
    Xoxo

    1. Hi!! Thank you so much!! And yes, unfortunately with older posts like this, links get outdated and items are no longer available. I love getting swim suits from Nordstrom, ShopBop and Anthropologie. So I would definitely check there!! xo

  4. Hi Amber,
We are planning to go in Vernazza for a few days ๐Ÿ™‚ Youhouuuuuuu!!! Could you advice us a place where to stay?
Thanks a lot! Your pictures really beautiful! xoxo – N.

  5. I am looking back through your European trips because I am planning an itinerary of my own, and when I saw these posts years ago I thought they were incredible! I am studying in Barcelona, and before heading back to the states, I am wanting to travel Europe for 6 weeks or so. There are of course so many places I want to visit–France, Italy, Greece, Germany, UK and Scandinavia. I’d love to know what your itinerary was like, and also where you looked for the best deals on places to stay. I’m wanting to travel super cheap! xx

  6. Hey Amber! I’m planning a trip this summer with my husband and we wanted to travel along the coast of Italy (and France possibly) and was wondering if you would be willing to share your favorite towns, as well as what hotels you found the best steals at! Also, did you mainly travel by train, rent a car, or fly? Love looking through all your travel posts because they are giving us great ideas and inspiration! xo Elyse Foulger

  7. Hello Amber,

I’m going to Cinque Terre the first week in May. When were you there? I’m wondering if it will be warm enough to go to the beach. Or is that a bit too early in the season?

Also, while I can’t wait to see Vernazza, I’m booked in Monterossoin the old town. Did you folks go there? Any insights?

I’ll be hiking each day. I’ve heard the trails are very crowded. Did you hike? If so, did you find the trails to be uncomfortably crowded?

    Gracie…
    Ciao,
    Bob

    1. Hi Bob!! We went later in the summer, and it was definitely beach weather. I think May will still be nice and warm for you, it is the beginning of the “busy season” so a lot of the shops and restaurants will be open which will be good (they close in the winter months). All the towns are a short train ride away from each other. You can buy a day pass and ride back and forth as much as you want, so you can stay in one town and spend the day in another. We did hike, and it can get pretty crowded but since you are going in the beginning of the busy season, you should be okay there. I would look for a travel guide online if you have any other questions ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thanks!!

  8. Hello. Where did you go for the top view of Vernazza? Is that from a hiking trail? I’ll be there in 2 days so I’d like to find out ahead of time instead of fumbling around. Thank you!

  9. Hi Amber,
Great bathing suit! You look fantastic, as always. Can you post a name of the place you have rented at Cinque Terre? I am looking for a nice place there for a couple of days in September.

    Thanks!
    K

  10. Great photos! We are traveling to Italy in April 2015. Our itinerary includes: Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Venice, and Milan. We have Rome and Florence Hotels booked but still need to book the other three stops. Your advice on lodging, restaurants, and other activities would be greatly appreciated!! We, too, ‘try’ to travel on a budget…especially on a trip this big!

  11. I was wondering about the cheap places you stayed in Italy! I am recently engaged and planning on getting married next summer. We would LOVE to go to Italy for our honeymoon but won’t have a huge amount of money to do so, so any tips or list of places you stayed would be AMAZING!

  12. Hi Amber, I am obssesed with this awesome swimsuit and want to buy one. But I am not sure, if is this cupped bandeau swimsuit or it doesnt have on the inner side cups? My size is 34A so it would be really mistake to buy it if it doesnt! I think you could to understand what I mean… ๐Ÿ™‚ When God was distributing bust, I had to be on the end of the front, promise. LOL ๐Ÿ˜€
    Thanks for answer

  13. Love your blog! My bf and I are planning to travel to Europe and I really want to go to cinque terre. Can you recommend some things to do. Or cheap places to stay? We’re going in the beginning of August, so I know prices will be a little higher regardless. Congrats on the baby!

  14. My husband and I are travelling Europe this May on a budget and are having troubles finding a place to stay around Cingue Terre!
Any recommendations?! I tried looking on Priceline like you said but couldn’t find much!

Any ideas would be appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚
    Xo
    Amy

    1. Hey Amy!! We somehow scored awesome deals on Priceline but you could also check Airbnb.. while in Cinque Terre we stayed at a place we found on there and it was really cheap!

  15. The suit is adorable but if your bust size is larger than an A cup it won’t work. Sadly, there is zero support. Too bad because it’s so cute.

  16. I can’t believe you told ‘them’ about the secret beach!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I just did the Cinque Terre in the summer, and also stayed in Vernazza. I think it’s hands down the best!!! I hope you ate the seafood cones and had breakfast at the little smoothie place with wifi! Our one memorable story from that trip was attempting a night swim off the Rocks in Vernazza (right by where you are standing in your pics) and my cousin squeeled, we looked down into the water and she had stepped on a SQUID!!! SERIOUSLY!

Here’s the Vernazza specific blog of my Cinque Terre posts: (but I did a handful on the trip) http://beyondtheblueumbrella.blogspot.co.uk/search?q=Why+Vernazza

  17. My best friend and I are going to Italy in 2 years for our 30th birthdays and I would loooove your tips on how to make it a cheap(er) trip! Neither of us have ever been to Italy/Europe so any and all tips would be so so great.

My email address is knprusak@hotmail.com ๐Ÿ™‚

Btw, all of your Italy posts have just made me soooo much more excited for the trip!!

  18. my friend and i went to Cinque Terre two years ago, we stayed in Monterosso but all 5 of the towns were amazing!! Miss it so much and am happy to see many travelers are finding this little gem of a town (or five) and loving it too!!

  19. Absolutely loving your vacation posts! I would love it if you could pass along your info, we are planning an Italy trip to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary and you guys look like youre having the best time! We went to Santorini, Greece on our honeymoon this past July, so if you are interested I could pass along our “travel tips” and recommendations!

  20. That bathing suit is gorgeous and so flattering on you!
‘travel cheap and travel often’ – love that. Now I just need a travel buddy!

    M.

  21. love the swimsuit! so jealous of all your adventures looks like such a blast… I am vicariously living through your vacation so thank you for the updates!

enjoy Italy > eat all the pasta and red sauce you can, I swear every single place I had it at was the best I had ever eaten, I won’t order it on any menu in the US now!!

    xx B

  22. Hey Amber!

Seriously, I have been wanting to travel forever. I am also 23 and work a full time job and have been saving up vacation hours so that I can hopefully take some time off to go to Europe next year. I was wondering if you could send me some of your tips, good travel sites, good places to stay at for a good price? Thanks so much and I hope you have a wonderful time the rest of your trip!

    Best,

    Lauren

  23. Looks amazing!!!!!!! If and when I go back to Italy I want to make this a place I go for sure! And wow, my sister is really good at using Priceline, apparently I need to try this more often. $41 a night?! AMAZING!

Also, love your swimsuit! Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Europe!

  24. I <3 Priceline!! I use it literally every single time I go anywhere because you can get really amazing deals. I actually didn't realize they had it for places in Europe, too, so that's really good to know. I am planning to go somewhere in the near future…I'm debating between Ireland and Italy, but I know I will definitely go to both at some point!

Do you find that it's difficult not being able to speak Italian? I would be by myself so that is the one thing that makes me a bit nervous!

    1. Yeah I totally didn’t think to use it here but it has been so great!! I haven’t been to Ireland but heard it is amazing! I definitely recommend Italy of course though! And no its not too hard I honestly find that most know English even if its just a little!

  25. i just got back from europe last night (australian). i swear i did the exact same tour loop as yourself and david. My experience at cinque terre was not as pleasant we had a mad rush of 5 towns on a day trip from florence and on the train we were packed like sardines and worried about the gypsys stealing from us. from memory the path is cut off to that beach because three australian girls were walking along that path to the other town and a landslide occured and the three girls died. extremely sad. the place is so beautifull though. Did u get to the bottom of italy to capris the most amazing place but expensive. xx

    1. No way?! Thats so fun you did the same tour!! And aw I am so sorry it wasn’t a pleasant experience ๐Ÿ™ I too have been worried about the gypsies but honestly havent seen too many! And that is so so sad about the girls… I can’t believe that!! We didn’t end up getting to Capri unfortunately but plan to do a cruise of the Italian islands one day ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. I can’t believe the deals you’re getting, that’s amazing! I will definitely be checking out that site the next time I travel! Love the swimsuit also, you look gorg ๐Ÿ™‚

    Xo,
    Sincerely Miss Ash

    1. I totally agree! And thank you so much girl! Hope you have a good weekend! xo
