THE BEST DIY MASK!!!
Okay I have tried a lot of DIY masks… like.. bananas and honey, avocado masks, mixed berries, etc. and never noticed a difference. Well since my boyfriend is out of town for a while I have been having a lot of alone time.. aka trying out new skin care things and hair styles and what not. I heard about the nutmeg, honey, and cinnamon mask and decided to try it since I am breaking out and let me tell you, I LOVVVE IT!
NUTMEG: nutmeg contains mystristica fragrans which is just another name for mace.  Mace has super strong antifungal and antibacterial activities which means it will work as an astringent and anti-inflammatory… basically all of that means that nutmeg will help with acne scars and reduce swelling around clogged pores which will help decrease the size of your pimple!
HONEY: honey has a lot of the same qualities that nutmeg does so I won’t repeat those, but basically it also helps rid your skin of bacteria but it also helps attract and retain moisture which is of course, super good for your skin!
CINNAMON: cinnamon brings the blood to the surface of your skin, which means it helps to plump your skin and tone up your face (or hands if you want to do a hand mask with honey and cinnamon). It helps to dry out pimples and bring blood and oxygen to the surface.
What I did:
1 tsp. honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
*mix until it looks like a chocolate paste
*leave on for about 30 minutes
(recipe calls for a tsp but if you need more then do 2 tsp, that’s what I did!)
{the cinnamon COULD irritate your skin, in which case, take it off sooner. It didn’t irritate mine but I read online that it did for some people… it could just be the tingling of bacteria being killed and what not though.. so I say tough it out}
THIS is what the mask should look like………… (here’s me in all my glory haha)

Anyways hope you all like it!!
xoxo

oh and here’s a pic (the only pic) from my bday yesterday!!

  9. Okay. Does This Really Work? I am a Teen With Horrible Horrible Acne. Nothing Seems To Really Work. So Does It Work?

  10. Hey so reading about this mask and going to give it a try my mom is all about natural skin remedies. But wondering about your everyday skin routine and when you do this mask is that all you do or after removing it do you wash your face and moisturize? Just wondering your step by step daily and nightly routine and what your routine is with the mask is? Thanks!

  11. Do you just rinse it off or wash your face with a face wash to take it off? After you do, do you put yur acne medication on the bumps and still moisturize?

  12. I’m not so sure what happened with mine. It came out all clumpy and was really hard to spread on. Did u add water or anything to make it more creamy?

  13. Hey!! i hope you get this! I saw this on pinterest!! i really want to do it. What kind of honey do you use though?? Like the brand and type?

  14. Just tried this. My skin feels really soft and is brighter! I only left it on my face for about 20 minutes but I’ll do the full half hour next time. Thanks for the tip 🙂

  15. I have yet to try this out, but I plan on using it tonight! 🙂 Just one question: should I keep washing my face and use lotion as I normally do or just use the mask?

    Thanks!

    1. Sorry. didnt mean to post this twice. I thought it didnt go through the first time. oops!

  16. I have yet to try this, but I plan on using it tonight! I just have a question: should I keep washing my face and use lotion as usual or just use this mask on its own?

  17. I’m going to try this, but I find it interesting that you have on eye makeup and lipstick with your mask. Seems to defeat the purpose if you ask me!

    1. Wearing eye make up or lipstick will not affect what it does to your skin as its not being applied to your lips or eyes. Glad you are going to try it though!

  18. Hey! I was wondering, when did you start to see results? I did this yesterday and didnt notice any difference in my breakouts.

    1. I would do it every other day for about 2 weeks ! You should start to see results after a couple times of doing it, but it depends how bad the breakout it! 🙂

  19. Would this mask still work if we didn’t add as much honey? I went to get some and I can get only a little bit out! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks!

    1. Yes it can still work!! It wont make as much obviously but it will still work! 🙂

  20. Hi I’m just wondering did you use cinnamon sugar or ground cinnamon?

  21. I came across this a couple of days ago and gave it a go last night before bed! I left it on for 30mins and you do feel the burn! Yes, my face was a bit red but it had all night to go down whilst I slept! My skin feels super soft this morning and my spots have dried out, it is like I have a new face which is good as my skin has been horrible since Jan and nothing has helped it not even creams prescribed by the doctor! 🙁 I will definitely be doing this mask again! Thanks for sharing! 😀

    1. Aww I am so glad it worked for you! Thanks for sharing your experience!! xx

    1. I would try to use it more often but if your skin get irritated then stop and do it less often! xx
